What do most of you folks use these days? A PC, a Laptop, tablet, phone or???

I've grown up with computers and have always had them in the home since about age 7 or so. I just repaired/rebuilt my motherboard and am getting my computer, a PC back up and running again. For portability and as a backup we have an HP laptop with a 17" screen and what I consider essential, the keypad on the side!

Both machines are 6 years old now and I have no plans to replace them, though my wife think she does! hehehe

That being said, what kind of phones do you folks use? I have an old Moto Razr somewhere around the house, haven't seen it in months. There is a hands-free phone built into my GM vehicle which I prefer to use albeit for short and essential communication.

What's the trend in phones and computers? Are they merging?

What are your thoughts on allowing your children access to or having their own computers and phones?

We have two Toshiba laptops, one dell desktop, Iphone(refurbished) and samsung rugby. We even have a landline phone

The children are allow to play only approved computer games and we have a internet filter through internet provider. They are not allow to have a computer in their rooms at all. They play on the computers were everyone can see them. We as parents ourselves do not take the computer to our room. They will get cellphones when they are old enough to drive for emergency. Personally for me I dont think a kid needs a cellphone to talk to friends or text to friends if they are not even driving age or allow to hang out. I know of 5 year olds with cellphones. Of course according to my family, our kids are going to be in bad shape since not only are they not allow to do or have what is stated above but we homeschool as well.

We have a PC and a laptop. I would love to get a tablet. Maybe one of these days (it's pretty low on my priority list). We both have cell phones - just regular phones, nothing special. We have a landline as well, which we don't use much. I'd like to get rid of it, but we've had the number for 22 years, so my hubby wants to keep it.
