PE you have to remember that not everyone has the option of having a garden and canning the fruit of it. :smile

God led us here to the suburbs to this parsonage and He will just have to protect us here.

A Victory Garden can be grown anywhere where you have a bit of ground - even on a lawn area. In the cities, people have started turning vacant lots into community gardens where everyone chips in and everyone shares the fruits of their labor.

As long as they see us as their enemy they will try to attack us. That's a given. These warnings are common and are put forth every so often. Odds, are in the next five years they will strike at us somewhere; here in America if they can.

One bad thing is that the government is using this as a means to set the precedence for using American troops here in America (once again, and even though it's supposed to be illegal). The Bush Administration has plans for 15,000 troops to be used here in America "to combat terror" or to aid in cases like hurricanes. However, we have the National Guard which is to serve this purpose. Having a special 15,000 man unit prepared to be deployed anywhere in America by order of the president is a dangerous precendent that will eventually be used against American citizens who oppose whatever evil the government may be up to at that time.

We have alot of pedestrian traffic including rowdy teens who would pull up a garden or trample it. I tried to plant two little trees one year and they were pulled up within two weeks.

"Your job and your hubby's is to minister to the flock that God has entrusted to you. Our job is to take good care of you and keep you well supplied." :thumb

Few here at OB are old enough to remember Kent State, May 4, 1970

KSnatguard.jpg

One of my oldest cousins was there (right at the scene.) He was walking w/ his girlfriend (then, wife) when the shots fired. He sheltered her, protected her, and pulled them to the ground. Then, his brother went there 2 years later. And, me in the 80's. Kent State University----GO!!! I am an alumni---along with them!! KSU remembers every year. :sad So do I. :-)

Kent State is a reminder of how quickly and easily the people who are supposed to be defending us and protecting us can turn into the ones firing the bullets AT us!

I worry about a state of Marshal Law being declared and then things will go downhill from there for each and every US citizen, not just the "bad guys."

As a Southerner, I understand exactly what it is like to have an occupying force come and trample the Constitution and the basic Human Rights of the people. Most Yankees do not have any inkling about such a thing ever happening in the USA - but it has happened several times in US History - with Kent State being one most remembered. They do not teach that stuff in the government propoganda history books.

The idea that Northern people are somehow less knowledgeable about previous unconstitutional behavior in American History is ... well, honestly, I can't even think of a proper adjective. Perhaps someone with a southern education can give me a word whose definition includes stupid, foolish, arrogant, inflammatory and completely inaccurate all in one.

IM4given you must be older than I thought if you personally understand the Civil War. LOL.

That's no better than the black people still being mad about slavery.

HAHAHAHHAHAAHA, Now that reminds me of those two guys fighting. One was Chinese-American (literally, born in China and naturalized American) and the other an Israeli-American (literally, born in Israel and naturalized American).

The Israeli-American:::: I hate you guys for bombing Pearl Harbor.

The Chinese-American:::::: That wasn't us, that was the Japanese.

The Israeli:::: It doesn't matter, Japanese, Chinese, it's all the same to me.

The Chinaman::: What about you guys, you sank the Titanic.

The Israeli::::: That wasn't us, that was an iceberg.

The Chinaman:::: Iceberg, Goldberg, what's the difference????????????

IYIYIYIYIYIYIYI :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The same thing is true today:::::::::: Millions of black people who are genuine American citizens are screaming about what happened hundreds of years ago to people they never even knew.

When the menfolk all went to fight the battle at Shiloh Tennessee, a Union Army force came to Western Kentucky and occupied my Great-grandmothers Tobacco farm, in Water Valley, burned her barns, ate all of her food, and took all of her hired help to work at the fortifications in Columbus, Kentucky. So how is that for not having "first hand knowledge" - southerners KNOW what it was like to have federal troops occupy their property. I stand by that. Just because it didn't happen to me directly, does not mean i do not have any knowldge of that time or place. Remember that Kentucky was a "neutral" state, and never seceeded from the Union. So what right did the soldiers have to do what they did?

Might be off topic just a bit, but why is the Bible belt in the south? Everyone knows this to be true and its commented on by all people.

Many fail to understand the south suffered most of it destruction at the hand of the northern soldiers taking over, taking possession of private property, thru taking the livelihood of many southern, much of the time they rapped the women and killed anyone who tried to protect their family and property from their savage ways.

I might add, much of this happened after the war came to an end.
