oh, I don't care if you think it's evil but, music is in no way evil, the message of the song can be 'wrong' or moraly crooked but, evil is a hard thing to define.

Well, that's your opinion and your free to exercise it. As I'm free to believe rock music is evil. I've lived the life of mosh pits, Ozzfest, drunk fests to know what's evil...it's not that hard to define, you just have to open your eyes to it.

lol, I see what you did there

Despite weither or not they are Christian, the Roman Catholics did some horrible and cruel things in the name of 'God'. Some how they thought that by forcing people to convert that they would be happier and stay Catholic. Most just 'converted' but, kept to their old ways. That is if they weren't murdered. Besides murdering those who refused to bow to them, they also did everything they could to demonize our gods and the gods of others by muddling up the tales and stories. <_<

Anyways, Nils, if you want a story about the interactions between our ancestors and the Roman Catholics just try to remember a few of the stories that your dad told you. Especially the Lay of Thor's Oak.

On a good note. I had a perfect Freyfaxi! It started the 19th and will end tonight at 12. How did yours go Nils?

Ah yeah I guess you're right on that. I do remember those stories and I know all about the mixing up of our beleifs as well : /. It's unfortunate but, true.

Anyways, Freyfaxi went well. It was at the same time as yours. Everyone from the chapter gathered and we had two men and a man and a woman get married the second day. I know it's kinda odd but, all the signs were there so the Gothi went through with it.

Are you saying two men claiming to be Odinist were "married" at your event?

You do know that such was not accepted by the Odinists of old don't you? Such would be nothing more than a perversion of the old ways, not an application of them and were the Norse gods real, such would be a great afront to them.

If such is going on in your chapter then you belong to a phoney representation of Odinism and I would suggest you have even more reason to leave them and embrace the one true God of the Bible.

Yes I am saying they made oaths to each other. I am aware that it is frowned on in the same way it is in Christianity BUT, the thing is, we don't discriminate against anyone in the chapter. Yeah, homosexuality isn't an honorable way to live but, we are not the ones to say if they are Odinist or not. That's between them and the Gods. So long as they both make oaths to a woman as well and bring children into the world then the Gods will not keep them from making their choices. There were a lot of accounts of homosexuality in old tales but, those men also took a wife therefore they upheld their honor and followed the law of the Gods. Take Loki for example...

Loki was an example of what not to do, what not to be like.

In accepting homosexuality the chapter, and it's members, are giving approval of such. If you read the old accounts of such homosexuality was rare among Odinists and it was generally a matter of domination and "demanning".

Homosexuality was greatly looked down upon by the ancient Norse and the One True God declares homosexuality is not only a sin, but an abomination.

I wouldn't say that. Loki did a lot of things to help the Gods and, in some cases, saved them. In the story where Loki commited a homosexual act AND bore a child he saved Asgard, Freya and gave Odin his great stead Sleipnir. They didn't say it was an abomination, they simply said that it wasn't the honorable, natural way. Unlike your God though, our Gods wont damn us for not following their rules. The rules aren't ment to keep us all acting like good people, they're ment to protect us and therefore, the Gods wont strick you down for not wanting to be protected. And again, so long as they take a wife and have children then they've done no wrong.

I'm sorry but you seem to have a poor understanding of history as well as Christianity.

If you've read the Eddas then you know Odin was untrustworthy and known to strike down some for no good reason, or cause such to happen.

Typically, Loki was the instigator of prOBlems and whether or not he helped bring about some good resolutions or not isn't the point, he was what we would call a trouble-maker.

The One True God offers folks the opportunity to have the best life possible and to fulfill their best purpose in life. Without Christ, nothing done in this life will have meaning and ones eternity will be spent in hell. Only in Christ can this life have true meaning and purpose and only in Christ can we know an eternity with Him.

Yeah....you do realize the whole reason I'm on this site is to learn about Christianity right? So of course I have a poor understanding of it.

Also, I have read my eddas, and not the screwed up version written by Christians either so I would have to say no, I do not know that. Also, being a trouble maker isn't bad. Making a mess and not at least trying to clean it up is bad.

So, somehow you managed to take a comment I made towards a friend and turn it into a bit of an argument with the theme of a fish telling a cow how to breathe. Nice one.

I'm sorry you misconstrued this as being argumentative. I've walked with real Odinists for years and I know the lore, I know the beliefs, I know the history. I also know it's all manmade and that only Christ saves as both Scripture and experience prove.

Forgive my intrusion, such was not my intention, I'll move on now after cautioning you that the Odinism you seem to have been taken in by isn't even close to what the Norse believed and whether the old or the new, it's a false belief system that will end in destruction and torment. Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Only by turning to Him can you, or anyone, know true fulfillment.

May another approach you in a manner so as not to upset you. I do pray you will open yourself up to the call of Christ.

Vara Heil Ok Vel

Much better than that, may Christ be with you!

X ( Uh, I'm really sorry about what I said. I know this is late and all but, I felt bad for lashing out. I've just been really stressed but, that's not an excuse. I'm really sorry.

That's really honorable of you Nick, don't worry, no need to be embarrased - it only shows you're human! :clapping:

<_< And here I was thinking you had finally stood up for yourself. You won, why did you say sorry? You didn't do anything wrong. BUT, perhaps he's right. Perhaps you're not a true Odinist, because to be frank, you don't have the guts. EVERYONE around you had what it took, your dad, your Gothi and all your friends but, you just don't see to have a spine. You're scary until you open your mouth and trust me, it's going to do nothing but drag you down if you don't man up a little.
