they have come up w/ a great military discount and we are thinking of going out there in Sept. There will be less crowds then and since we homeschool it won't be an issue.
Anyone have any advice?

I have. I've been to one in FL, although I didn't really enjoy it that much. I don't think our son did either. But we are the type who are not crazy about long lines and crowded theme park. Sept. is a good time though. The place is big so you are not going to be able to see everything in 1 or 2 days.

My favorite has always been brush Garden in williamsburg, VA. Used to go there every year growing up but I hated the long line there too. They have shows too but they are mostly cultural dancing. "Around the world" is theme of Brush Garden in williamsburg, VA.

Some very good friends of mine went there last March and they had a very good time. Only one of the group was a child. My friends called us and talked our arms off about all the fun they had. Hope this is helpful. CJP56

I went to a theme park here in Korea the first week of January and it was freezing. There were still quite a few people there. Then again, it is Winter vacation here.

In answer to your question, I was there a loooooong time ago and don't remember anything. :frog

If you have little children, rent a stroller. It can hold bags for you as well. If you going to have a designed baggage handler, you might want to pack a magazine (not books, magazine because they have shorter articles and you won't lose your train of thoughts) . cell phones are great for family who want to go seperate ways (or walkie talkie, although I had a bad experience with them) . If you want a cell phones instead of walkie talkie, stores do carry prepaid cellphones. better than a expensive walkie talkie that may not work well at theme parks (it's a big place so it may not reach certain distance).

There suppose to be a forum somewhere about Disney, I heard it is good
The only place I went was the zoo and the magic kingdom (the one where the castle is.. I thought it was going to be big, but it turned out a little fake castle although I'm sure my son thinks it is big). At the zoo, we rode on some kind of jeep and look at the animals which was nice.

Then we went to dino land, and had to take a ride on a bus to get to the magic kingdom. Anytime you like to take a break, ride the trains that goes around the magic kingdom or ride the ferry.

Pack lightly too. Find out what the weather is going to be... When we went the weather was cold in the morning so we had to wear a jacket, then it got hot and we ended up carrying all these jackets. not fun at all to worry about your stuffs. On the second thought, it might be better to go on a cold day. everyone would be more covered up. When I was there, there were alot of girls showing off their muffin top.

out of all things, our son HATED the 3-d movie with special effects. Cried within a minute they started playing so we had to leave. My in-laws thought maybe he just need to see a better movie. but nope, he didn't like those either.
