Every day I check the church website there are junk feedback entries - between 8 and 16 at least once a day and sometimes twice. Usually they are trying to tell me how to make squillions from bitcoin, sometimes trying to sell me pharmaceuticals cheap, sometimes offering to be my wife. I also get emails from all sorts trying the same things and also trying to give me a few million that was left to them for a good cause by their great uncle who was the treasurer of some place or another. Thankfully I can just delete them, but it does take time, and it is annoying. And because they come from all sorts of different emails there is no way to block them. So…

I thought it might be interesting to see what everyone did in church. Was it an average, interesting, funny, or momentous day? Is it missions conference time? Special services or special guest preacher? Picnic on the grounds after services? You can talk about anything, share pictures, videos, etc, just keep it focused on what happened at your church (or a church you visited) recently. No controversy, please, I'd like this to be a positive thread. If you're worried about sharing too much personal things online, you can keep it simple, just post what scripture was preached from, the title of the sermon (if any), subject of the sermon, an interesting tidbit from the sermon,…

Over here we are about to head into the last bit of Christmas eve, so I want to wish you all a merry Christmas. Argue all you like about the terminology, the day, the date, the theology, etc, but I mean it in the simplest and nicest sense. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

I am not a perfect Christian, but I try to be. I try to not only preach God's word, but also practice God's word. One of many practices by Christians and even IFB and non-IFB churches I have seen growing and taking over like a tsunami is the practice of erecting a Christmas tree in God's house or individual homes. I do not understand how we can erect a tree to "ooh and ahh" over, and lay gifts at its feet when the ONLY ONE we must be doing this reverence to is THE ONE TRUE "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS": REVELATION 19:16 KJV "And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." G…

I thought this was an interesting read, and I'm curious what everyone's thoughts on Bible College is. Personally, I am very much for Bible College, and I usually encourage young person to attend for at least one year. However, Bible college is not a Biblical qualification for a pastor, nor does God call everyone to Bible college. https://heartlandbaptist.edu/2020/01/bible-college-provides-a-solid-bible-foundation-for-life/

Happy Australia Day everyone! 26th January 1788 is the day the First Fleet arrived at Sydney Cove. 11 ships 1400 people, and an evangelical preacher called Richard Johnson, who brought with him 4200 bibles. He preached from Psalm 116: 12, 13 12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? 13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. The first Christian message preached on Australian shores was from this passage, by a man who refused to preach good works (when ordered by the governor), instead preaching of salvation by grace through faith.

The Lord provided for us and I was able to take my wife away for our 31st anniversary- not "away - away", just to the south-west of our state (about 200km away from home), to stay in a little cabin in the bush for a few days. Anyway, one of the things we did was to find a popular off-road track down here called Three Bears. We have a 1985 Toyota Landcruiser - it is not new, but it is in good condition, and they are a capable truck. Anyway, we got a little video of the track. 31 years married and she still comes 4x4ing with me (on the rare occasion we get to go.) I hope you enjoy this few minutes as much as we enjoyed the hour of track work. a888…

Our Pastor is going to Ethiopia on Wednesday to support an Ethiopian friend Pastor xxxxx who has a church about 100 km (abt 63 miles) from Addis Ababa. Pastor xxxxx has had at least two attempts on his life and been threatened many times. We are praying for the Gospel that our pastor will preach and for the safety of both pastors. Pastor is also going to the midlands here on Monday, to preach at a funeral of his former boss who was not a believer. He accepted as long as the family knew that he would preach a message from the bible.

Brother D.Bovee In you reply to Pastor Markle, and his excellent work in the Greek language and the Greek verb semaino, Collier's Dictionary meaning, and with his understanding of Revelation 1:1, I would like to quote a verse that you used in order to justify your judgmental attitude towards us (fundamentalists). Here is the link to the thread: You quoted Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5). In order for us to obey this verse on to not to lean on our own understanding, and not to presume anything, but act on knowledge, we, would like for you to answer, truthfully, the following questi…

A prayer: I asked for strength that I might achieve, He made me weep that I might obey I asked for help that I might do greater things, I was given grace that I might do better things I asked for riches that I might be happy, I was given poverty that I might be wise I asked for power that I might have the praise of man, I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God I asked for all things that I might enjoy life, I was given life that I might enjoy all things I received nothing that I asked for, all that I hoped for, my prayer, was answered. Amin I need to add that this was taken from Dr McGee's speeches. Bless your hearts, …

The church I am working at has a home school ministry and I thought it would be a fun thing for the kids to learn about rock polishing/tumbling, so I brought in my little rock tumbler and a few rough gemstones that came with it and showed them how it works. They were a bit disappointed that it's going to take so long to have a finished shiny stone, but are excited to seeing the finished product. The rock tumbler works by turning a barrel of rocks, sand, and water constantly for up to 3-4 weeks depending on your desired shininess or rock type. The tumbler that I got came with four different grits of sand, the first grit is the roughest type and just gets the rocks smo…

So... apparently I am off to Israel in February! It's a guided tour, so I won't have much say in where/what to do, but we will have some free time in Tel Aviv & Jerusalem. Have any of you been there before? What suggestions would you have for doing in my free time, or advice on what to bring/wear/watch out for?

Remember my location: "Under a Rock but Crawl Out Occasionally", or in other words: I've always been too busy with the ministry the Lord had me in to get out much. So, I had heard somewhere about an Eric Capaci and got the impression he was somewhat known with Independent Baptists????? Anyway, I was calling for meetings in Arkansas and left a message on his voice mail at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs. I read something this week saying that he was dabbling around SBC ministries and events. FWIW, if anyone is wondering if there's any truth to that - I just got off the phone with him (I must give him credit for returning my call, over 3/4 of pastors DO…

Pastor Cancels Wedding Over ‘Sexy Dress,’ Persecuted for Modest Mindset Pastor certainly created a stir in his local church when he refused to marry a bride and groom because he felt her dress was too “sexy,” according to a report in AmericaPreachers.com. Here’s a segment of the story: “The wedding scheduled Saturday, Aug. 10, was scheduled for 3 p.m. At 2 p.m., the pastor greeted the bride and groom when he noticed the bride’s dress. According to the bride’s mother, the pastor jokingly asked, ‘Where is the other half of the dress?’ Not thinking anything of it, the family laughed it off and continued applying make-up on the bride. Around 2:30 p.m., the pastor asked a…

Brethren, There is a fine IFB, strong KJV, church in Eastern Michigan that is in need of a pastor or pulpit supply. The church runs around 25 solid saints, does not have any doctrinal, moral, financial, or other large problems. More than likely the pastor would need a secular job (but I am not sure of the financial arrangements). Send me a private message (pm), here on Online Baptist if interested or if you know of someone who is interested. Alan

This morning Randy had a boiled egg for breakfast. As he was peeling it, he noticed something hard at the top of it. He took of the very top and saw...a mini egg! In the first picture it looks almost like the yolk is peeking out. But it was no yolk. In the second picture, Randy put the mini egg by the regular egg so a sense of size was given. He took the mini egg to church tonight. In picture 3, one of our members put his finger in the picture for sizing. In the fourth picture, Randy peeled the egg. Yes, indeed - the mini egg had a shell! As you might be able to see, there was no yolk in the mini egg, but it was definitely egg white. Has anyone ever experi…

I was just looking at some of the stats from my. online Baptist, and one of the biggest search queries in this last month that people have found us was by googling wife spanking. Now we're talking about husbands who discipline their wife by spanking. I guess I'm just kind of dumbfounded that people would actually be searching for this. Is this still a thing today? Here is the link.
