The last time I spoke with my younger brother was 2007 Christmas. My mom spoke with his wife a couple of months after that, but we hadn't heard from either of them since. I had a phone number which both my mother and I tried, but it didn't work. We've been praying that God would re-connect us somehow. Well, tornadoes are frightening things, but God used the ones headed our way yesterday for something good! When I got home last night, my husband told me to listen to the answering machine - he couldn't understand what the person said...IT WAS MY BROTHER!!!!! Even now I'm crying as I type this. He left his phone number and asked me to call - he wanted to know that I …

Today in our deaf Sunday school class, we had 5 visitors - a deaf man, his hearing wife and 3 kids. They all stayed for church as well! Also, I talked with a deaf man today that has come once in a while, and he recently started reading his Bible more and is being convicted to be more faithful to church. He likes our church, and is going to be coming more regularly. I have to admit, it is hard for me to understand all of what he signs to me, but for the most part, I understand him. He is a young man in his 20's. Also, there is another deaf lady that started to come often, and then stopped coming. We found out she had some medical problems that were keeping her f…

After moving to a new city a year ago, we were having difficult finding a good church. I have been Baptist my entire life. Well, a friend invited me to an Anglican church (actually, this church is a missionary church from Rwanda...where they saw America in spritual decline). Since many of the Baptist churches around seem to be too trendy and pop culturish, I accepted the invitation. The first Sunday I attended, I felt teh Spirit of God move in me very deeply. It has really revived my spiritual walk with Christ. This church is spirit filled, is full of life, community, love of Christ, ministry, has a strong heart for missions, and every message centers on the gospel …

We had our revival services starting yesterday! While on bus visitation Saturday, another man and I spent a lot of time talking with the parents of one of the teen girls that rides our bus. We invited them to the revival, and they came tonight! During the invitation, the girl's dad went forward and trusted Christ! Please pray that the family will keep coming to church.

I grew up as a steadfast Roman Catholic (whatever that is), went to Church just about every week and always went on Christmas and Easter. Was baptized in the Catholic Church. Had first communion (eating of body and blood of Christ) in the Catholic Church. Was confirmed in the Catholic Church (where you accept Jesus as your savior supposedly). Confirmation was never really explained to me and I'm sure most if not all kids at that age are just going through the motions...confirmation is like a pre-cursor to High School graduation...you get a bunch of money, the spotlight is on you (not on Jesus Christ as it should be) and you get an extra middle name (picked from the li…

I was raised in a big city in Michigan. My family claimed Catholicism, but only my sister actually went to church, until I realized that all my friends were Catholic also, and I went because they went! I guess I got my roots in Catholic catechism. I had not learned anything about God, except that my dad often asked Him to damn something, and the Catholic church introduced me to "religion". One of my best friends was always talking about being an "altar boy"--helpers that got to help the priest serve communion, and prepare it. Actually, he was a mere "gopher"! I learned the "Lord's Prayer", the "Hail Mary" and the Apostles Creed, and even stole a catechism book from …

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Answers these questions: In what? “Everything” Do what? “Give thanks” Why? It is the “Will of God” In Whom” “Christ Jesus” For who? “Concerning You” In everything: Every condition; Every circumstance; Every blessing. We Praise the Lord with our lips; We Glorify Him in our life; and we honor Him in our heart. In order to fulfill this verse, we must also give thanks all the time. Everywhere we go; In everything we do; All the time; All that comes our way, we are to thank God for. It may be His will that we exper…

The Royal Law “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Love the Lord with all thy: Heart--all of our emotions. Soul--with all that pertains to the spirit life; Mind--with all our thoughts. Strength (Mk. 12:30)--with every bit of energy within us; In other words, we are to love the Lord with our entire being! That is: All that I am; All that I do; All that I think. All the time.

It's been such along time since I've been on OB. Life has been keeping me so busy, but I wanted to take a moment to share with all here the blessing of the past week. We held VBS the past week and had the opportunity to minister to 118 different children from ages 3 to 18. Mind you, our normal church attendance is just over 100, but this morning we had over 200 in attendance for our final program. The most important part of all: we know of at least 10 new professions of faith and acceptance of Christ for salvation!! Praise God for his blessings. We also had several express a great deal of interest in attending our church. God Bless to all. Futurehope

I praise God and give Him thanks that my Dad is with us today on his 71st birthday. My Dad has heart and lung prOBlems and most figured he wouldn't live past his early 60s at best. My Dad is unsaved and I've prayed over the years God would extend his life so he may come to Christ before he dies. I stil pray my Dad will accept Christ as his Saviour and Lord before he passes away. I'm thankful to God and give Him all the praise and glory for my Dad still being alive today.

My seven year old son Isaiah. Was asking a lot of questions about being saved after church today. After talking with him for about 30 minutes he asked Jesus to save him! After praying he started crying I asked him why and he was worried about his younger brother not being saved. This is the way it should be a person getting saved and automatically having a desire to see others saved. Please pray for him to be used greatly by God. God bless.

So, when my Preacher was diagnosed with liver cancer the doctors gave him 6-12 months to live. He grew very weak within a couple months, losing something like 50 lbs. He had a tumor the size of a baseball I believe he said and it was too big to take out in an operation. Well, two weeks ago was the 12 month mark and he has much more energy and continues to not miss any services (when he was first diagnosed he missed a few to go home and visit family)...nothing since though. Even with the medication he is on, doctors still didn't give it much hope. A few of us men of the Church laid hands and prayed over our Pastor during a Weds service which was very moving for me. …

Just thanking God that I do have a fairly decent jOB (Walmart cashier) and that I don't mind it all that much. Also He sees that I can get back and forth. No, my situation isn't perfect, lol, but God never promised we'd have perfect situations. But that's why He's here - to help us when things do get rough, and we praise Him for all the good things that we have. :-) I do have also the best family in the world, and great friends. :-) I am looking for full-time work, but I'm sure God will work all that out, too. :-) I'm doing my share - I hope. :-)

A long hard struggle It’s a long, hard struggle through life, but the Lord makes it a lot more pleasant. Oh, it isn’t easy for anyone, but admittedly, some have it much worse than others. We suffer many things in this life; sickness, deaths, persecutions, mockeries, even beatings for some, but the Lord sees us through if we will just hang on. Each moment seems to hold a blessing or a curse for us; every step we take can bring about a new disaster, or a new blessing, but the Lord is there with us through it all; He is there to guide us through, and to make the path easier to tread, and He does that well. No matter oh Christian friend, how hard your plight, it woul…

My Dad My dad wasn’t a bad man, as far as the flesh is concerned; he did his best to raise his children in the bewilderment of a rapidly changing world. He never did tell me that he loved me; I never heard him praise me for well doing, but I know that “in his own way” he loved me, and I grew up with the hope that I had pleased him and become someone he could be proud of. It didn’t work out that way, unfortunately. He passed away many years ago at the ripe old age of sixty-four; he left little behind for us in the way of preparing us for the world and its wiles, whether monetarily or in the framework of wisdom. My dad, as far as I know, was never saved. My Go…

Today i wnt to a taco place to get some food. When i walked in i noticed these kids with many piercing and tattoos. I am in corrections so my eye tends to catch those type of people first. I started to order my food when i heard "God bless you". When i looked this little old lady had said it and the kids replied God bless u back. I continued my order paid and waited for my food. The entire time this old lady who was making flowers with perfume to sell was paraying and giving God praise. A female worker said to her your so happy with such a hard life. This lady told her(it was in spanish) that she was just paying her due and that it was God"s plan. She said GOd will bless…

Yesterday we (Sunday) we were on our way home from the beach. However, a wheel bearing or something blew out, and the wheel or something was threatening to blow up. We had to stop every once and a while to throw water on it, so it wouldn't catch on fire or anything. But, thankfully, we made it to a truck-stop near the interstate, and got in touch with a tow truck and one of my uncles, who came and got us and our stuff before the truck arrived, and brought us home. We got the van back today. So, I just want to praise God for His protection and provision; we were in a very potentially dangerous situation. God bless, Joel.

We're praising God for our baby boy Silas, born last Wednesday. Rachel (joyfulpraise93 on here) and Silas got back from the hospital today and are getting along all right. Our first boy, Benjamin, is 14 months, and is always oodles of sunshine and joy. We're really thankful for our two boys! Silas Paul

She was coming home from work last night, and 4 deer ran out in front of her. Thankfully, she missed 3 of them. She is ok, but the van repairs would be more than the van is worth - so, we are starting the process of looking for a different vehicle for us (we are a 1 vehicle family)

...OB. I want to thank Brother Matt and everyone else who's put a lot of work into this place; whether it be doing the site itself, or making it what it is. I know I'm a lot different than most of you, and we don't agree on everything, but, really, I love this place. The Lord's blessed me through it. Just felt like I needed to say that. God bless, Joel.

Hi, I'm Ricky a preacher of the Gospel involved in our bus ministry with the bus teens at Canaan Baptist Church in Covington, Ga. Our pastor is Dr. Scott Caudill. Just wanted to share that yesterday two teenage sisters who are very close got SAVED!!! The younger appraoched my wife after the service asking how to be saved and her sister said she wanted to find out too! Both these young ladies have always been very well behaved and you'd never even know they weren't saved until yesterday. Please pray they will stay faithful and grow in the Lord.

Tornados and severe weather all about; our towns tornado sirens went off twice, but praise be to God our Shield none of it touched us or even came all that close! And our Heavenly Father is so wonderful, near sundown the sun showed itself low in the sky and my youngest son and I went out on the porch (it was still windy and raining) and to the east I saw the most perfect, beautiful rainbow I've seen in my entire life. I was literally in awe and praising God. It was a great opportunity to talk with my youngest about how great God is, remind him of why we have rainbows (he remembered :thumb ) and to share that awesome moment with him and our Heavenly Father. :praise: …

Dearest Board Brethren, We would like to give praise and thanks to the Lord for bringing little Melody Joy into the world last night! She was born at 7:10 P.M. She weighs 10 lbs., and was 21 inches long. Her and Mama are well. Darlene, of course, is resting and in the process of regaining strength as the body heals and things move back into their proper place. Please keep her and baby in your prayers. I'll post pictures very soon. Joyfully, Ben, Darlene, and Family.
