  1. Yep. My grandparents used to have a mobile home (second home) that they lived in during the winters in Mesa just outside of Phoenix. I have family in Phoenix still today. My wife and I had considered moving there years ago, but the Lord led us elsewhere.
  2. Yes, and that's a very sad thing. I'm not exactly sure when his slide into some of these less defendable stances on doctrine started to occur. He wasn't a "national" figure as far as I can remember back in the 1980s...or at least not most of the 80s. A LOT of people give Billy Graham a bad rap...yes, he did start going off the rails...but I know of more people who have come to know the Lord through his ministry than any other ministry I know of.
  3. Are you saying that when he was claiming the name of "Baptist" he was selling the book, or that many Baptists bought it? I know his book was in play in many different denominations...I know many CoG, CoC, and Christian churches in our area were using it. I never bought a copy of his book...I borrowed one, and swore I'd never support his writing. I haven't.
  4. Hell is a place...Just like Phoenix is...We don't around saying "A place called Phoenix!" And to be honest, I don't ever recall saying something like "A place CALLED Hell." I know some people do use that term, and I've never really understood why. "And death and a place called Hell were cast into the lake of fire..." We know that's not what it said. ?
  5. I like the pictures, Morales...but, I can tell you honestly that I'm tired of your digs at me. Grow up, please.
  6. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but, am looking forward to it this weekend. ?

  8. Lately I've been well enough to be in physical attendance, and I'm thankful for that. I've been watching on the internet, but, it's NEVER been the same. Having fellowship with others is a necessary part of the Christian life for growth, encouragement, and for involvement in the body.
  9. Again, it's only SOME churches who fellowship under the name SBC who hold to the idea of the "universal church." My dad and mom were members of an IFB church, and my dad held to the universal church ideology...He also held to the Gap Theory. I can understand his position on the universal church ideology, as everyone who is saved is in the "church" as a whole, and will always be at that particular time. It continues to grow by the second. I may not necessarily agree with his thoughts on it, but, they do make some sense. I know of many Independent, Fundamental Baptist churches that are members of a state association...We've lived in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Georgia, and Tennessee, and there are many in each state that are doing this. I'm sorry, but, I can't agree with that statement. Rick Warren took the church off track many years ago, and they WERE a great church for many years.
  10. No portable EKG machine. We've got the BP machine, oximeter, diabetes testor, etc.

  12. Ours pre-pandemic was running around 25 people. Now its running 10-12 people.
  13. Progressive's FLO! ?
  14. I had thought it might have been an unconscious slip. It happens. Blessings.
  15. Not at all, Brother. It's one of the most enjoyable parts of my day. ?
  16. My cardiologist has ordered another round of stress tests on March 8 & 9. My EKG wasn't bad, but, it wasn't good, either. He said it was irregular. I was told flatly that if the pain in the chest, arm, neck, and shoulder I should either call 911 or have my wife take me to the ER. With a family history of heart attacks and strokes, I was told that I am far more than a prime candidate. I would appreciate your prayers. I was told to greatly reduce stress and certain things I have to do daily. Thanks in advance. BT
  17. We have street preachers in some areas here. It's often hard to knock on doors as more and more subdivisions are becoming "Gated Communities."
  18. Guano....
  19. God, the creator, can do anything he pleases as long as it is right. He cannot do evil....Satan had no power to have sex with anyone. I know you know this already.....that's why it makes me wonder why you even posed this question here.
  20. Though there are hundreds of versions and translations of the Bible, the KJV is the most popular. According to market research firm Statistica, as of 2017, more than 31% of Americans read the KJV, with the New International Version coming in second place, at 13%. I'm not a fan of the NIV...never have been. In fact, my wife and I left a church we helped start in Augusta, GA (Garden City Baptist Church) in 1985 because the pastor deceptively employed its use.
  21. My wife and I are seldom able to attend Wednesday evening services in our church. Time/financial constraints prevent that most of the time. When we are able to attend, we really like it. Most of the time it's a Bible study and a time of fellowship, which is very good.
  22. I don't necessarily agree. I've been in churches, both IFB and SBC that have not had alter calls. Remember, the alter call is not a prerequisite for the Holy Spirit to move or the Lord to save. I had a close friend who never walked an aisle, but instead prayed right where he was and came to the Lord during the service. I'm not necessarily against alter calls, as our church has one every Sunday morning. I am, however, against the way many of them are used....the 100 stanza's of "Just As I Am," etc.
  23. Really? Southern Baptist Church? It's NOT a church, it's a convention. Each of their churches is just as autonomous as yours. To clarify once again, the "credentials committee" can recommend, but, they can't enforce what they decide on ANY of these autonomous churches. Each church can decide to fellowship with whomever they wish. No disrespect intended...but, I've been reprimanded, browbeat, and harassed by a moderator over this issue in the past. So, I'm making this clarification once again with a moderator who has been told the truth. Please, don't make the same mistake in calling those who fellowship together as the "Southern Baptist Convention" as the mainstream media who call us "a church." We don't have a hierarchy or governing body, though a couple of the entities that help handle some of the programs used by the churches do have a goal of trying to turn us into a "church" instead of a convention or fellowship...ie, the North American Missions Board run by Kevin Ezell. He's lied and had to go before the United States Supreme Court over this with Will McRaney. It's been referred back down to the district courts to rehash. Is it true that the "credentials committee" finally said that it was inadvisable to fellowship with Saddleback? Yes. And good for them. It's about time they did the right thing. Thanks, BT Saddleback has become a liberal Baptist church...those who fellowship with the SBC aren't for the most part. This shows that the 'credentials committee' is finally recommending to those who fellowship with the SBC NOT to fellowship with churches going apostate.
