  1. Was going to have a Mexican casserole because it's cold out...but I ended up losing my balance and falling injuring my left hand and wrist...So, it's me putting on a couple of cans of tomato soup and my bride making grilled cheese when she gets home. ? That'll do for tonight with the addition of homemade peanut butter bars and a big cup of hot coffee!
  2. I don't know...I would say if he wasn't acting publically, it would show that he possibly ended his public ministry at that time...at least on an open, active basis. Did he heal anyone during that last week? Did do any miracles? I believe there are verses that say he went into Jerusalem and taught in the synagogue, aren't there...so that might be counted as public ministry. It could be seen either way.
  3. I received this in my inbox this morning from my friend Voyle Glover. It's a very interesting insight on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and exactly WHO is controlling the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. https://voyleglover.com/the-russian-invasion-of-ukraine-an-alien-perspective/
  4. This morning I was listening to two different preachers when I heard them say nearly the same thing...."I have chosen you twelve, yet one of you is a devil." As they went on to explain this statement, one said that Christ knew that he was calling a devil when he chose him, and that he "calls" devils into the Christian ministry to try and accomplish his purpose. The second on said that Christ knew he was calling a devil so that he wouldn't be able to subvert the Father's will and that the prayer in the Garden of Gethesemane, "Not my will, but your will be done" was proof of this possible weakness in Christ. Both of these men used to be Baptist preachers! Is it possible that one or both of these preachers was right? I believe one may have some validity to it, but the other is totally off base (the second preacher). I know where I would lean doctrinally ....but why would this second preacher even say that Christ might have failed if he hadn't chosen Judas? This just sound like a heretical viewpoint to me. Both of these men have been preaching/pastoring for over 30 years. What say you all? Scripture that backs up your position??? Thanks in advance, BT
  5. Genesis 1:28 KJV: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. I have been asked by a Ruckmanite about this verse. I know that my father and i went round and round about this verse and the one word "replenish" in particular. If the "Gap Theory" isn't correct, then what is the resoning behind this particular word being used in the English (KJVO) translation?
  6. I am coming across more and more Christians who believe the Earth is anywhere from 20K to 250 billion years old. What Biblical basis would they possibly have for such beliefs? I could possibly understand the 20K range, but longer? It's highly debatable. I don't understand where they could get such a notion. Any reasonable explanations in your minds?
  7. I was looking back over notes that I have taken over than 50+ years that I have been in the Baptist church, and I noticed a consistent challenge that I'd like some of you pastors/laypeople here to address. I know the Scriptures on these events, and I have to let you know up front that my research while I was at MBBC in Watertown, WI nearly got me expelled from college with a whole group of student who were studying the two. I knokw what verses go where, and with what event. From my notes, though, I find that many of the pastors I sat under, especially in my early years in church, didn't always hold or preach the verses correctly. Why do many preachers confuse the Scriptures for the two? Have you experienced pastors/laypeople who don't have these scriptures in their correct venue? What do you do when this happens? It IS a point of doctrine...so, is it worth asking a preacher who is improperly preaching and crossing these events into one, or apply the verses for one to the other? Thanks in advance.... BT
  8. I was listening to a sermon on a Christian broadcasting netword, and the preacher who was speaking stated several times that ALL THE PROPHECIES that needed to be fulfilled, and all of the conditions for Christs return in the Rapture had been met...all that we were waiting for was for God to tell the Son that it was time for him to come and get us. I know that many of the Bible prophecies have been fulfilled, and that the time of his coming is near...but are we truly living in the last days? Have ALL the prophecies that need to be fulfilled been fufilled for his coming? Is this mandate by Mr. Biden a dry run for the upcoming Mark of the Beast?? I know I've been hearing these things since I was 9 years old....I'm nearly 60 now. The apostles believed THEY were living in the last days and that Christ would soon return to take his bride home. Could it be another 5 years, 10 years, or even longer before his coming for us? Thanks for your input in advance. I know what I believe, and have studied this for many years...I just find it strange the twists that some preachers put on this.
  9. I used to enjoy listening to Dr. Robert Jeffress several years ago, but he started to turn more political in nature in 2020 having former President Trumps Veep in his church "to give his testimony." Now, I've got nothing against having a political leader in to give their testimony of salvation...but it seemed to be more of a Trump rally than a worship service. This past week or so, Dr. Jeffress has decided that he can decisively say that there is no Scriptural reason for a person NOT to get the vaccines....I think he's crossed a line and is trying to take the position of the Holy Spirit in people's lives. I'm seeing quite a bit of this in nearly every sect of the Baptist church, and I truly find it disheartening. Preachers are NOT the "end all" or the decision makers for their members. They are to shepherd their flocks, not try to play the Holy Spirit, convicting others to do something. It's NOT his job. Of course, this is just MY OPINION. Others are allowed to have theirs....below is one of the articles that give an account of what Dr. Jeffress said. Some of the ones I could have used have disappeared as if to stop any damage that could be caused to Dr. Jeffress' ministry because of his speaking out. I also find this disconcerting. Dr. Jeffress is SBC, and a former SBC President. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/2021/09/17/first-baptists-robert-jeffress-there-is-no-credible-religious-argument-against-the-vaccines/
  10. The meme I'm posting here is becoming something that is going on in many Baptist denominational churches. It's shameful and very disconcerting...but I guess that it's a sign of people's unwilligness to follow the Bible, wanting instead to be "all inclusive" in doctrine and practices. I hate what I've seen...but thanks be to God for those churches that are still standing for the truth! This meme was borrowed from FB
  11. When I was in Bible college at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, WI back in 1983, there were several of us preacher boys who were studying the rapture of the church. Some held to what seems to be the prevailing view of the pre-tribulation rapture. There were some, however, that held to the view of the mid-tribulation/pre-wrath rapture. This was an interesting viewpoint, and I studied it further. There was a third group, and they held to the position that the rapture occured post-tribulation/pre-millenial Kingdom of Christ. It has always made me wonder why people hold the positions they hold on this subject. What position do you hold, and why? Please use Scriptures as much as possible. Thank you in advance.
  12. In an even more aggressive move, President Biden has made it clear that he is not going to stop with just the real assault weapons, he is coming after the 9 mm pistols as well, claiming they're assault weapons as well. This is an attack on our Second Amendment rights, and he knows it. The Socialist left will not be happy until they have taken away any chance of regular American citizens protecting themselves against government tyranny. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/07/21/cnn-town-hall-biden-suggests-9mm-pistol-ban/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=down-range&utm_campaign=20210723dr
  13. I've come across many Baptist pastors and parishoners who listen to the speakers in this clip on a regular basis. They are being filled with the heretical teachings of these people. I pray they'll learn from this clip.
