  1. I've NEVER been able to understand how people could fall for the tripe that is Calvinism.
  2. David used to be my youth pastor at the Faith Baptist Church where I grew up. His father, Henry C. Sorenson was my pastor for nine years. David was not always KJVO', and once gave and encouraged my mother to read an NASB version of the Bible shortly after she got saved.
  3. God pursues ALL of mankind and then COMMANDS them to repent. He draws all men unto himself, just as the Bible says. But, man can resist that call to repentance. That's personal accountability. If he had to MAKE you willing, you weren't willing at all. I think you just answered yourself here... quotation of a Psalm by the Apostle Paul. So? Again, in no way whatsoever does this support your pet doctrine of Calvinism. Nobody has stated this anywhere. This is a typical Calvinist straw man being thrown up. Y'all need to be getting some new lines. Exactly! LEADS US, not MAKES US! Ooopppss! There is that "God chose me, but didn't choose you" mentality. We all would love to glorify God for all that He has done for us.
  4. Yes, that is true, and nobody is disputing this ...man can't save himself by his own will ..but, he can submit to the Holy Spirits convicting his soul and come to Christ. Repeating verses over and over don't change the FACT that a person must make a conscious decision to follow Christ.
  5. This still doesn't back your pet doctrine of Calvinism. Nobody disputes the fact that God does this. It's been twisted by the Calvinists to fit their ideology. God does make vessels for honor and dishonor, but there are millions/billions that God has created, and in his omnipotence and omniscience allows their lives to play out, many hearing the gospel and receiving while others rejecting, and others still NEVER hearing. But, the Bible tells us that because of the revelation of God in creation and the order presented in it, they are without excuse.
  6. Dead=SEPARATED in trespasses and sin.... spiritual death is NOT the same as physical death, nor should it be treated so... only extra-biblical doctrine teaches it differently.
  7. This is a typical Calvinist accusation. Nowhere have Jerry or I either one stated this. These kinds of straw man arguments don't help your position.
  8. It's always funny to me how Calvinists always try to compare physical to spiritual and make the two the same in practice.
  9. Calvinists always seem to try this tripe trying to make "spiritual death", ie, spiritual separation from God, mean the same thing as physical death...not even comparable. Spiritual separation from God, or "spiritually dead" isn't anywhere near the same. Salvation, even in the Calvinist ideology, requires a decision...but, of course, through the In the Calvinist interpretation, we find that this decision has already been made for the participant "from before the foundation of the world." This isn't a "decision" but a forceful bringing into Christianity. It negates over 50% of Scripture concerning salvation.
  10. I think it's pretty much implied...and in what I saw it WAS on the front page even though it was under "About Us". This is what I mean when I state that you are ALWAYS quick to jump to a NEGATIVE assumption about things. Reading and comprehension are GOOD THINGS that should be practiced. And, as for the name calling, you really need to grow up and act your age.
  11. Did they? Don't think so. Read the "About Us" section. More of the same from you, Eddie.
  12. Who is saying "we are many?" Yes, there are millions who claim to be followers of Christ, but, like Peter, how many will stand firmly in the Lord's corner when the world asks, "Aren't you with Him? Aren't you a Christian?" Many will shrink back in terror when this happens. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
  13. Any party is mostly non-believers. But, yes, the Libertarians do have some great ideas. Back in the 1980s I would have voted for Ross Perot, but, he ended up becoming a joke and embarrassment to himself and his supporters.
  14. As far as I know, the NRA, TGO (Tennessee Gun Owners), and others are still fighting for ALL of our 2A freedoms. My wife and I are conservative leaning independent moderates and have been so since the middle 1980s when the Republican Party decided to leave a strong, conservative position. With the first Bush Administration came a move towards accepting more liberalism in the party, and the beginning of the move to fall under control of the United Nations and other global organizations, ceding our national sovereignty to others. I make no apologies for where we stand. Not all moderates have been making moves towards liberalism. There is no "Moderate" Party, though some would like people to believe that the Libertarian Party is ours....not hardly. Their platform, though good in some respects is good, but is a disaster in others.
  15. I agree that the ministers who allow this wicked, heretical doctrine enter into their congregations are leading their people astray and will be held deeply accountable for the condition their flocks when they stand before the Lord. A pastor friend of ours sent his daughter off to Bethany Christian College, and she returned home with a lesbian girlfriend, telling her parents that she was going to marry the other woman. This was three years ago. Now she claims she is non-binary and is involved in all kinds of debauchery. He and I both have a friend who left the church, divorced his wife and married a man he'd been friends with for years. He used to be a layman in the church. When he tried to make us affirm and accept his "marriage" and we wouldn't, he attacked us both with rumors, stalking, and other divisive actions. Many of these kinds of people are becoming more militaristic in their actions towards those who disagree with them.
  16. The thing that makes your posts overly negative is that you paint with far too wide a brush throwing out statements like "all politicians" sell out... really? Have you any statistics that show 100 percent of the politicians do so? I know MANY who haven't, including my baby sister, my cousin, and several distant relatives who are in politics. Then there are your continued bashings or assumptions of what Trump will or will not do. Every time you post something about Trump you sound like a Pelosi, Schumer, or Biden operative. We all know your opinion of the man. I'm not a fan of Trump's, but he's far better than the alternative. And though my posts in response to your prophecies on what a person or group of people will/will not do contain a direct semi-negative response, it isn't something the a majority of us will post. You have been doing better on this, Eddie. Have a nice day.
  17. Conservative writer, former university president, and preacher Richard Hayes who wrote a book on the Biblical stand on homosexuality (The Moral Vision of the New Testament) which has been used in many Bible colleges and universities around the world, has changed his views on homosexuality. His son is a co-writer with his father on a new book, "The Widening of God’s Mercy: Sexuality Within the Biblical Story,” released this past September. More information is in the article. This was just one article that I came across this morning on homosexuality and Christians. Out of the 25 stories in the news, 16 were on homosexuality and how Christians are losing the war against it. We, as Christians know that the Bible is against homosexuality and sexual deviancy. It's a shame to see "Christians" falling to public popular opinion on the subject. We need to remain a light in a lost and dying world and be standing against those who fall to heresy. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/conservative-christians-just-lost-their-scholarly-trump-card-on-same-sex-relationships/ar-BB1lhTT8?ocid=chromentpnews&pc=U526&cvid=8a26b0be568a407bb95edf17c9d325a3&ei=14
  18. You're entitled to your opinion. It sometimes seems like you just want to diss anything and everything and one you can. Do you EVER post anything positive? Gay marriage is already legal, no matter how sickening it is. Many Republicans are already in support of this and other whether anyone likes it or not. The party has continued to move left and is no longer worth the support it receives.
  19. I believe he's finally realizing that it's going to STAY a state's issue, just as it was before Roe v. Wade. Just as with the amendment that brought a nationwide ban on alcohol, a nationwide ban on abortion would lead to massive criminal behavior. Abortion is a terrible, unbiblical practice, but it is only going to be wiped out by a change in the hearts and minds of people as we try to win this nation for the Lord.
  20. I just watched this movie for the 200th time this past week! Great message and scriptural principles. I've recommended it to all of my nephews. Many have already started implementing these principles with their families!
  21. I wouldn't count you any less a full time pastor if you worked 20 hours a week. Pastors are usually available to their people and others as well, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I believe you to be a good pastor just for the fact of your churches growth since it started, and the souls saved through your ministry there.
