John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The only kind of revival that comes to God's people is one based on worshipping the true God in spirit and in truth - and it will not come to people who have left the truth to fellowship with charismatic or word faith error.

Yes, that is a pattern we do see here and there in the Word of God. For example, I was just reading about Elijah (1 Kings 18:32-35) on Mount Carmel and that he dug a trench and filled it with barrels of water - four at a time for three times.

I was ask, did satan have sex with Eve, in the garden?
Jerry replied to TheGloryLand's topic in Biblical Issues
Right Tony, aside from the fact that angels/demons don't have physical bodies, so they are not having sex with anyone - the idea came from paganism and apostate Jews, which are certainly sources we should never listen to (beyond being aware of where this possible corruption of God's Word/the truth came from). -
Interesting list. The two halves of the tribulation period are spoken of six times as to their length (once in Daniel 12:7; then Revelation 11:2, 3; 12:6, 14; and 13:5) - divided into 3 1/2 years each (not 3+4), and the Great Tribulation, spoken of by name in several places refers to the last half of this seven years: 42 months (of 30 days each, according to the Jewish calendar); 1260 days; a time (one year), times (2 years), and half a time. Here are some other sevens that I have recorded in my Bible app from various sources: 7 blesseds: Revelation 1:3; 14:13; 16:15; 19:9; 20:6; 22:7, 14 7 names/titles of Jesus in chapter one: 1. Alpha and Omega 2. The Beginning and the Ending 3. The Lord 4. Which is, which was, and which is to come 5. The Almighty 6. The First and the Last 7. He that liveth and was dead... and is alive for evermore Revelation 1:13-16 contains a sevenfold description of Jesus Christ. Clarence Larkin lists these Seven Sevens: 1. The Seven Churches - Revelation 2:1-3:22 2. The Seven Seals - Revelation 6:1-8:5 3. The Seven Trumpets - Revelation 8:7-11:19 4. The Seven Personages - Revelation 12:1-13:18 5. The Seven Vials - Revelation 15:1-16:21 6. The Seven Dooms - Revelation 17:1-20:15 7. The Seven New Things - Revelation 21:1-22:5 Each of the seven letters follows the same general format: 1) Name (of the church that particular letter is addressed to). 2) Its Description of Christ. 3) Commendation: What that church is praised for. 4) Warning: What that church is rebuked for. 5) Promise. 6) To The Overcomers. 7) Prophetic Application (As revealed in church history, found throughout the letter.) The word “repent” (or a form of it) is used seven times in these letters to the churches: Revelation 2:5 (x2), 16, 21, 22; 3:3, 19 Seven times the Lamb’s Book of Life is mentioned in Revelation: Revelation 3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:12, 15; 21:27; 22:19 Sevenfold praise in Revelation 5:12 and 7:12. Seven kinds of men are mentioned in Revelation 6:15. 7 passages with this Greek word for woe/alas: Revelation 8:13; 9:12; 11:14; 12:12; 18:10, 16, 19 The bottomless pit is referred to seven times in Revelation: Revelation 9:1, 2, 11; 11:7; 17:8; 20:1, 3 Clarence Larkin lists The Seven Personages: First Person - The Sun-Clothed Woman - Revelation 12:1-2 Second Person - The Dragon - Revelation 12:3-4 Third Person - The Man-Child - Revelation 12:5-6 Fourth Person - The Archangel - Revelation 12:7-12 Fifth Person - The Jewish Remnant - Revelation 12:13-17 Sixth Person - The Beast Out Of The Sea - Revelation 13:1-10 Seventh Person - The Beast Out Of The Earth - Revelation 13:11-18 The mark is first mentioned in Revelation 13:16, but seven times it is referred to as the mark of the beast or his mark: Revelation 13:17; 14:9 , 11; 15:2; 16:2; 19:20; 20:4 Clarence Larkins lists The Seven Dooms: First Doom - Ecclesiastical Babylon - Revelation 17:1-8 Second Doom - Commercial Babylon - Revelation 18:1-24 Third Doom - The Antichrist And The False Prophet - Revelation 19:20 Fourth Doom - The Antichristian Nations - Revelation 19:21 Fifth Doom - Gog and Magog - Revelation 20:8-9 Sixth Doom - Satan - Revelation 20:10 Seventh Doom - The Wicked Dead - Revelation 20:11-15 Jesus is called the Word seven times in the NT: John 1:1 (x3) John 1:14 1 John 1:1; 5:7 Revelation 19:13 Clarence Larkin lists The Seven New Things: First New Thing - The New Heaven - Revelation 21:1 Second New Thing - The New Earth - Revelation 21:2-8 Third New Thing - The New City - Revelation 21:9-23 Fourth New Thing - The New Nations - Revelation 21:24-27 Fifth New Thing - The New River - Revelation 22:1 Sixth New Thing - The New Tree - Revelation 22:2 Seventh New Thing - The New Throne - Revelation 22:3-5 From FBF Bulletin - What Will Not Be In Heaven: 1. No More Sin - Revelation 21:8, 27; 22:3, 15 A list put together by me (based on a general comment made by my pastor, but he did not have any specifics, just that he had read a commentator state there were seven portrayals of Christ in Revelation) - Jesus Christ is portrayed seven different ways in the book of Revelation: 1) The Son of Man in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, in Revelation 1:12-16. 2) The Lamb in the midst of the throne, in Revelation 5:5-7. 3) The mighty Angel setting His feet on the earth and the sea, in Revelation 10:1-6. 4) The Son of Man on the cloud, in Revelation 14:14-16. 5) The Rider (the Word of God) on the white horse, in Revelation 19:11-16. 6) The Judge on the Great White Throne, in Revelation 20:11-12. 7) The Temple and the Light of it in the New Jerusalem, in Revelation 21:22-23

I was ask, did satan have sex with Eve, in the garden?
Jerry replied to TheGloryLand's topic in Biblical Issues
I haven't heard the idea of Eve having sex with the serpent or the Devil - though Jewish mysticism teaches that Adam had sex with a demonic wife, who appeared as the serpent. This idea comes from the Kaballah, Jewish mysticism. This is where the picture/icon/symbol of the bitten apple comes from - showing that to the lost mind, the taking and eating of the forbidden fruit through Lilith, the demonic wife of Adam, was a good thing for mankind. Of course, those who actually believe the Bible know that this philosophy is straight out of the pits of Hell, which is where the Kaballah and Jewish mysticism came from anyway. -
Yes, Revelation 2-3 give the progressive history of the church age, until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ at the rapture, then the events of the tribulation follow. Laodicea is the characteristic of most of the churches just prior to the return of Christ. You can also see the same spiritual degeneration in Matthew 13, 2 Timothy 3 and other passages.

Yes, but when it is a false Jesus, the truth about Christ is not being preached. Preaching A Jesus is not enough, and Paul and the other NT writers warned various times about that. 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 1 John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. If someone is not preaching that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh (like the Mormons, who believe Jesus is a man who became a god), then they are not of God and are warned against.

The Guest has the right answer. It says Nineveh was a great city of three days journey - ie. it takes three days to cross through the city, not three days to get to the city (or else why mention the size at all - that would more be in line with mentioning the distance to it).
-
Symbolic of what? Of two individuals that God has set apart to preach/witness during the tribulation period. The symbols point to realities and they can be determined by tracing the symbolism throughout the Bible.

Obeying Your Fathers and Mothers (Proverbs 1:7-10)
Jerry commented on John Young's Sermon Entry in Learning Dark Sayings of Scripture (Proverbs)
Yes, Jesus' spiritual brethren are those who obey the Word of God - that in no way equates with the Word of God being our spiritual mother in any sense...- 8 comments

10 Reasons why you should not "Ask Jesus into your heart!" UGH!
Jerry replied to BrotherTony's topic in Soulwinning Forum
Actually, all seven letters to the churches in Revelation 2-3 are addressed to individuals, and they are exhorted to be overcomers (which according to 1 John 5, refers to getting saved). All seven letters have to do with ensuring that we are trusting in Christ and repenting of any sin in our lives. Revelation 3:20 specifically states "any man, him, he" - all statements regarding individuals listening to/reading that letter. -
I agree. It is their home. If something they watched in their own home bothered me, I would leave. If given an opportunity, I would attempt to talk about spiritually dangerous programs with them though.
-
No one is knocking other believers for watching it - BUT it is an act of love according to God to warn other believers of things that are sinful or that will harm them. It is not "liberty in Christ" to let false teachings or sinful/harmful things to go unchallenged - in fact, it is cowardice and sinful to do so. Leviticus 19:17-18 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. The Bible teaches to expose and separate from false teachings - which means standing against them. You cannot do so and remain silent when it is there or in the lives of those around you.

Gene Kim is a dangerous heretic and false teacher. Like as mentioned above, he may define a certain type of hyperdispensationalist and then state he is against that - but he and his crowd ALL teach hyperdispensationalism, teach different gospels of salvation in different periods, redefine words then force those definitions into the Bible (example, his teaching of what META means, and then brings that into the book of Revelation - but the word itself means after or beyond, and is used in the phrase, after those things). As far as Ruckman goes, how does a great godly teacher have such a bad home life that the year after he died, Peter Ruckman Jr. (his son) killed his two sons and then killed himself. Seems like Father Ruckman's heresies and ungodliness bore awful fruit in the next generation.

1. The book of Daniel says in several places that the Antichrist will come into power through craft, deception, trickery. 2. The forerunner for this show, Dallas Jenkins, admits that 85% of the show is created by the writers and is not based on the Bible.

Please do not correct God's Word (ie. the KJV in English, the Textus Receptus in Greek) with modern versions or other versions that change the text.

God says this: 2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. So instead of arguing with God's Word, submit your viewpoint to what it says and try to figure out what God's Word is saying/teaching. All men sin, but obviously God did not use sinners (ie. unbelievers), nor believers who were walking in sin UNTIL they repented of their sin. We find David writing a Psalm (#51) AFTER he repented of his sin with Bathsheba, but not during the time he was walking in sin. As much as we think it is wrong to have multiple wives, the OT does not teach that. (What it does teach is how to treat the other wives and their children.) We cannot judge OT men of God by NT standards. Solomon obviously wrote the Song of Solomon and his Proverbs while he was walking closely with the Lord, and Ecclesiastes after he repented of his idolatry with the gods that his many wives followed.

The Bible teaches that there were two sabbaths that week - a ceremonial sabbath (which occurs the day after Passover, regardless of which day of the week it falls upon) and the weekly sabbath (which is basically Saturday). Jesus would have had to have been crucified on Wednesday morning and laid in the tomb just before sundown on Wednesday afternoon. The next day was the ceremonial sabbath, then Friday, then the weekly sabbath - then Jesus arose sometime after sundown on the sabbath (ie. Saturday evening or night). That gives three full days and three full nights, takes into account the two sabbaths (and the events mentioned - ie. the women preparing the spices BEFORE one sabbath, but not coming to the tomb until AFTER the sabbath), and shows that when the women came early Sunday morning (while it was still dark), the tomb was already empty. The women did not have time to prepare the spices before Jesus died and was buried - so this is referring to the ceremonial sabbath: Luke 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. When they came Sunday morning, the spices were already prepared - from two days before: Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. We just need to disregard foolish Catholic and Protestant traditions, which many have carried over into Evangelicalism, and stick with what the Bible says - even if it contradicts most of the world!

Good for you. Regardless, God chose the word foundations, not me. The context of Genesis 1, Job 38, and Psalm 104 clearly show that it is referring to the separation of the lands/earth from the seas - and that happened on the third day of creation. And to clarify, the context is showing Job was not there at that time, but the sons of God were - and that third day was approximately 6000 years in the past during creation week, not on some future day that hasn't happened yet. Often, when someone comes up with something completely new, never before seen in the Bible, usually they are wrong. The Lord God is not hiding His Word (or the understanding thereof) from His children - so for no one else to arrive at your conclusion until between 3500-4000 years after the book of Job was written, I would be concerned about your perception of that passage!!
-
Whoever told you Job 38:1-7 refers to the future sold you a false bill of goods, as can easily be shown by comparing parallel passages: Job 38:1-7 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? The foundations of the earth were laid on day three of creation week: Genesis 1:9-10, 13 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good... And the evening and the morning were the third day. Psalm 104:2-5 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Here is the exact same order of events and reference to the creation of the angels just prior to this point (ie. they had to be created by or before day three in order for ALL of them to rejoice in that part of God's creation - also, that also means none had fallen yet, as ALL of them rejoiced). In the Scriptures, sons of God is a reference to unfallen or righteous beings. Adam in Luke 3:38 was directed created by God and was called a son of God before he fell, and after the Lord put away his sin in Genesis 4 (verse 26 makes reference to men calling upon the name of the Lord - ie. being saved - and I believe those are who are referenced in chapter six compromising with the lost daughters of men, and intermarrying them). Christians are recreated, born again individually and righteous before God. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God - His physical body was created directly by God. The fallen angels are never referred to as sons of God - though Job 1-2 and 38 teaches the angels were ALL called that when first created and before they fell. Also, there are no Scriptures that teach any of the OT saints came and presented themselves before the Lord in heaven. In the New Testament, Satan (whose name means adversary) is called the accuser of the brethren, and the name Devil means slanderer, accuser.

The Trinity is three distinct persons in the Godhead. It is not three personalities (like God had multiple personalities), or three different modes of God that He takes on at different times - the Father is not the Son or the Holy Spirit, the Son is not the Father or the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit of God is not the Father or the Son - they are distinct from each other. Each member of the Trinity is separate and distinct, yet one God - that is what the Bible teaches, even if others cannot fathom it or explain it. We need to accept what God says by faith.
-
Good that it might be so in some cases - but in many it is not, AND the majority of those that I have seen Christians be involved in DO have the paganistic elements in them. Unfortunately, just because Christians are involved in it does not necessarily mean they have the non-religious version. Also, you can learn self-defense in various other ways without getting involved in eastern religious-based martial arts, which were created to pass on their religious traditions to further generations. It's like taking yoga and saying that it is just stretching and getting in shape - doesn't change what it is or where it came from. Show me a highly involved martial artist that is sold out to the Lord, clings tightly to God's Word AND gauges everything by it, and is separated from ecumenicism and evil today (ie. is not worldly or compromising in the various areas of their life), AND clearly separates from the religious aspect of the martial art they are part of (and by separated, I mean speaking out against the religious-based ones and shows that theirs is not).
-
Sad - so many compromise and do not care to gauge ALL things by the Word of God. Somehow paganism and false religious philosophies are acceptable if we add Jesus to them...
-
I am glad you repent of deliberate compromises in your life (your earlier post did not clearly indicate that, hence my response). Yes, we all do struggle and all still sin until the Lord takes us home (1 John 1:8, 10; Ecclesiastes 7:20) - though we are accountable to deal with any sin as it is brought to our attention (otherwise our walk and fellowship with the Lord and other believers is hindered). Like it speaks about in Leviticus chapters 4-5 (especially 4:14; 5:3-4 - when... then...).
