  1. There is nothing Biblical or Christian about them. They are a cult, false religion. No other way to put it and still be truthful!
  2. Read Revelation chapter 7. The 144,000 are evangelists who will lead multitudes to the Lord - therefore, they are only some or part of the many who will get saved during that period of time.
  3. The 144,000 are some of the people who get saved during those seven years.
  4. The “saints” in the first 3 1/2 years of the tribulation are those individuals who got saved AFTER the rapture. At the point of the rapture, ALL saints living and dead UP TO THAT POINT are caught up to meet the Lord in the air - and therefore there are NO true believers remaining on the earth, until new believers get saved during the tribulation period.
  5. The whole seven years is God’s wrath according to Isaiah 13; therefore the whole Tribulation period is God’s wrath. Compare Isaiah 13 with Luke 21. Both passages use the same descriptions and wording - which shows that those in Luke 21 that are witnessing the events and are told to look up for their redemption is drawing nigh are actually in the midst of the wrath, not waiting for the rapture to deliver them from coming wrath. Isaiah 13:9-10 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger. Luke 21:25-28 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
  6. I agree totally with Happy Christian. Sins that are an abomination are ones that God is more against (and I think judges more swiftly and greater judgement for), AND all the sins that the OT taught were abominations are still such in God's sight. Some of those sins are all types of sexual sins (other than adultery and fornication - they are not called abomination as sodomy, bestiality, prostitution, offering profane/unholy sacrifices to God, any kind of involvement in the occult (see Deuteronomy 18:9-12), wearing clothes pertaining to the opposite gender, etc.; though the Bible is very clear against spiritual adultery), idolatry, kidnapping. One clarification I will make though is: eating unclean food is referred to as an abomination - but not to God. (It is part of the ceremonial law that would be done away in Christ.) It was abominable to the Israelites. (Look up all the times the word "abomination" is used and see the difference, including in the chapters dealing with clean and unclean foods.) The Bible teaches that cities (and I would say, individuals) which rejected the Lord Jesus Christ would bear greater judgement (Matthew 11:20-24). Those who sin against more light will have greater punishment. Those who were preeminent in the betrayal and trial of Christ, like Judas (Matthew 26:24) and Pilate, will have greater punishment. Those who lead children astray (Matthew 18:6; Mark 9:42) - especially believing children will have greater judgement. In Revelation 18:4, this judgement is also pronounced on the endtimes religious system.
  7. It is wrong to put your perceived opinion above direct statements in the Bible. I was not saying other things couldn’t be wrong - I was focussing on the issue of whether consuming alcohol in itself is wrong or not. Taking medication is not wrong - abusing it is. Eating certain foods is not a sin - overeating and being a glutton is. However, the Bible itself forbids the believer from even partaking of a little alcohol.
  8. The difference is the Bible teaches that even to look upon alcoholic wine is wrong, to even touch or partake of a little is wrong - it does not say that at all about the other things you mentioned so the comparison is not a good one. Also, the Bible teaches that prophets, priests and kings were to stay away from alcohol. Jesus was all three and was our example. Christians are two out of those three: kings and priests.
  9. Not sure what to think about Spencer Smith overall, but this series of videos is excellent and exposes a lot of corruption that has crept into modern Christendom - including the idea of Shekinah glory (which concept comes from the kabbalah and Jewish mysticism) and portraying the Holy Spirit as feminine.
  10. The Bible passage does not say, Do not drink wine to excess - it says wine in itself is excess. Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

  12. Wow, in the sense that I wasn't expecting to see something like this today - I haven’t visited the message boards for a while, as I have had problems with my computer and I usually access Online Baptist on it. Praying for the Lord to give Jim peace (if he is at all aware of what is going on), and for the Lord to comfort his family. Please don't take this as flippant or trying to promote myself, but I have found that the Lord uses some of my poems to comfort and strengthen family members in difficult times like this. These two may be a strength and a reminder of the Lord's care and promises at this time. https://realmccoy.earnestlycontending.com/one-day-up-in-glory/ https://realmccoy.earnestlycontending.com/through-this-valley/
  13. 9 of the 10 Commandments are restated over and over in the New Testament. The Sabbath commandment is not - also, Exodus states it was/is a sign between God and Israel. As far as dietary laws go, ceremonial days and other ceremonial aspects of the Law, the NT in various places state they are not binding on the NT believers (ie. the church). They were types and shadows and were done away when Jesus died on the cross. The types, etc. were done away when the Anti-type (Jesus) came and fulfilled all the types. Anti-type means the fulfillment of the type, the person or thing the type pictured.
  14. The Darkness Is Passing Away The shadow of death will turn to morning like the breaking of the day, Our trials will turn to blessings in God’s own wondrous way; These light afflictions are for a moment, then they too will pass away, When the brightness of His glory is here forevermore to stay. Though the shadows overwhelm you, and you can’t see the path ahead, At times the storm clouds gather round you, and frighten you with their dread; Jesus will turn your mourning into dancing; your sorrow and pain will pass away – The bright Morning Star is coming soon – with the dawning of a brand new day. One day, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, We’ll pass from death to immortality, when we meet our Lord in the sky; Working together in our lives for good all the parts we thought were wrong, Transforming our darkness into light, and changing our sorrows into song. June 12th, 2023 Jerry Bouey Amos 5:8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name: Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Throughout their lives, true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are walking through the valley of the shadow of death. Sometimes this shadow looms over them for months and sometimes for years – but one day our Saviour will return again and turn the shadow of death into morning, overthrowing and transforming the time of darkness into glorious dawn, when our bright and Morning Star comes in glory to judge this dark world and take His people home to be with Him forever – another reason to be blessed by the repeated phrase in the Song of Solomon: Until the day break, and the shadows flee away… Song of Songs 2:17 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether. Song of Songs 4:6 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. Psalms 30:11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; Isaiah 51:11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
  15. There are only 22 letters in Hebrew and 24 in Greek. Also, the number of a specific endtimes ruler’s name is taken from the value of each of those specific letters - not a sum of every letter in an alphabet. That is basically taking the prophecy and making it mean literally nothing; whereas this prophecy is so those who have wisdom during the tribulation can identify him by the sum total of his name.
  16. For those who teach the altar mentioned in Matthew 5 is not a true altar or not for the church, consider the following passage: Hebrews 13:10-15 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Yes, this is a spiritual altar - for the church - where we present our offerings and sacrifices to the Lord and for the brethren.
  17. The number of the Antichrist is not three sixes - but six hundred and sixty six. Also, John was not referring to the destruction of Jerusalem when he spoke of the Antichrist - but to an endtime leader who will not be revealed until the time of the end.
  18. The 144,000 are literal Jewish witnesses - same as the two witnesses in chapter 11 (as various other passages support). Chapter seven lists which tribes they are from - and a study of the rest of the OT shows WHY certain tribes are not listed, This fits in with many other passages on the endtimes, including Paul's statement in the following verse: 1 Corinthians 15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. Paul was saved suddenly and dramatically, by seeing the risen Christ on the road to Damascus. His birth was like that of a premature baby - born out of due time in compared to the rest of his nation, which will be saved in a similar manner during the tribulation (the 144,000 at the midpoint and all remaining Israel at the end of the seven years).
  19. Wow, can we say that Morley is "explaining away the Bible"? The statement below causes me great alarm BECAUSE THERE ARE NO OTHER APOCALYPTIC WRITINGS FROM GOD - THEREFORE CLASSING GOD'S BOOK WITH WORLDLY APOSTATE RELIGIOUS WRITINGS IS A FALSE START AT BEST, AND LEADS TO ALL SORTS OF HERESY AT WORST. The Bible is here to be the gauge for all other writings, not the other way around.
  20. The first three and the last three are directly applicable to the church. from chapter 4:1 to chapter 19, the church is not on earth, but it Israel and the nations of the world that are in view (see Matthew 24 on the times of the Gentiles and Jeremiah 30:7; Daniel 9:24-17; 12:1. If the true church (ie. saved individuals) is on earth during the Tribulation period, there are several problems: 1. They are undergoing the wrath of God, which God promises to save them from - even in chapter 3:10. 2. The Antichrist and devil are overcoming them (Revelation 13:7) - but God promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail against the church (Matthew 16:18). As Tony mentioned above, true Baptists believe in Dispensationalism - and all of the events from Revelation 4:1 to the end of the book occur after the end of the church age, when the church is caught up in the rapture to meet the Lord in the air. Trying to fit something in where many passages show that it does not equals explaining away many passages and doing away with the literal meaning of God's Word. Even skimming your endtimes comments in your posts above, I can see you already do that - and that it is essential to your viewpoint on the book of Revelation (therefore affecting MANY passages about Christ's second coming/endtimes).
  21. The idea for WWJD came from the book In His Steps by Charles Sheldon. In that book it was all about doing what you feel or think Jesus would do in the situations you faced in life - and that book never ONCE taught or said let’s go to the Bible to see what Jesus would do. Of course, the movement followed In His Steps. If someone truly looked to the Bible as the gauge for all they did or said, their spiritual life would be transformed.
  22. It is not a prayer that saves - it is the faith behind that prayer. Typically, 1-2-3 pray after me scenarios usually involve pressuring a person into praying a prayer without understanding their sin and their need for a Saviour. If a person truly believed who Jesus is and what He has done to save us, repents of their sin and receives the Saviour, that ONE prayer truly saved them. But if there is no truth or repentance behind a prayer, you could pray it a million times and never be saved.
  23. Paul Washer is a died-hard Calvinist, who doesn't seem to draw any lines with others, as long as they are Calvinists. I lost a lot of respect for him when checking him out the last year or two on youtube - a lot of stuff with little Biblical substance. He talks a lot about common sense things - things people should be for or against - with no Bible in most of those videos I find.
  24. A Reststop Along The Way When the valleys of life seem so dreary, And the way ahead seems so hard, My soul aches and cries out for a reststop - Somewhere safe I can let down my guard. A place of calm within the tempest, A hiding place from the wintery blast. A place of refuge for my troubled heart - Where Shiloh’s waters flow gently past. A comfort in my time of trouble; A haven of rest in my darkest day; A sanctuary where my soul is safe, A blessed shelter along the way. When I am dry and my soul is thirsty, You alone bring soothing to my pain; You are the only shadow in this weary land - The refreshing cloud that comes with the rain. My soul is hid in the cleft of the Rock - You’re my High Tower in the midst of my strife, You hold me close in your everlasting arms, And feed me with Your words of life. All that I need I find in You, Jesus - You are the Shepherd that leads me each day; Your peace prevails in this heart of mine, In You, I find the rest I need along life’s way. You are my Reststop along life’s way. April 11th, 2023 Jerry Bouey A quote from a friend in the midst of their trial (and where the idea for this poem came from): This is God's will, his plan, the roadblocks won't stop him. I don't know what is to come, but I do know God is paving the road. Somewhere, in his time, there will be a reststop, where the view will be beautiful, and our great God will be there to carry us home on the great wings of love. Isaiah 32:2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. Genesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Isaiah 8:6 …the waters of Shiloah that go softly… Psalms 107:28-30 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. Psalms 32:7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Proverbs 16:15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain. Psalms 23:1-3 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
  25. Only In Jesus The eternal God is your refuge, Holding you up, keeping you close. There’s a comfort in His presence Only the child of faith truly knows. Peace that passeth all understanding, Guarding your spirit and your mind; Assurance from the heart of God, That only the trusting soul can find. Underneath are His everlasting arms; Lifting you up from the miry clay, Covering you with His sheltering wings, Giving you the strength you need each day. Only in Jesus is that perfect peace, Only in Jesus can you find that rest, That yoke, walking side by side with Him - In the hands of the Saviour you are blessed. Only in Jesus. April 10th, 2023 Jerry Bouey Deuteronomy 33:27a The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: Deuteronomy 33:25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be. Psalms 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul. Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
