  1. All the OT saints will be in the rapture. They were saved by faith in the coming Messiah - therefore they are part of the dead in Christ. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
  2. God reckoned Adam's sin to all mankind, as he was man's representative. In a similar way, God reckons Christ's righteousness to those who place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Each one is a representative of their descendants (Adam representing all mankind, and Jesus' spiritual seed are all the redeemed). Romans 5 explains this in more detail. Think of seed as descendants, not some physical seed or fruit. All of Adam's descendants bore his likeness - and all the redeemed bear the likeness of Christ.
  3. I have never heard it the way you present it here. The couple would be espoused/engaged - which was more lasting and a stronger bond in Jewish society than in our day (hence why Joseph would have needed a divorce to separate from Mary, though they were not yet actually married). John 14 presents the aspect of the engagement where the bridegroom goes away to prepare the house for his bride. When all is ready, he comes back for her and takes her away. (There is no abduction or anything weird like that.) Song of Solomon 3 speaks about Solomon and his bride's espousal/engagement, picturing our walk with the Lord - and that song ends on the same note as the last book of the New Testament - waiting for the Bridegroom to come back to take His bride home to the place He has prepared for her. Note, the day break is when the Morning Star rises and day dawns, and the shadows flee away - when Christ returns to take His bride home (the same thing is pictured when Jacob wrestled all night with the angel of the Lord/Christ, until the day break). Genesis 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. Song of Solomon 2:17 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether. (Bether means divisions._ Song of Solomon 4:6 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. (The mountain of myrrh is Calvary, where Jesus died for our sins - and the hills of frankincense is in Heaven where the Lord Jesus Christ is petitioning the Father on our behalf as our great High Priest - various places in Scripture incense is symbolic of prayer - note: both of these must happen before He returns, before the day break and the shadows flee away.) Song of Solomon 8:14 Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices. The Song of Solomon ends with the bride awaiting the return of her Bridegroom to take her home - so does the whole Bible (Revelation chapter 21 presents the eternal home, the New Jerusalem that our Heavenly Bridegroom has prepared for us): Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
  4. There were no clean and unclean laws until Moses gave the Law. Abel came to the Lord His way, accepting the sacrifice (ie. substitute) for his sin; Cain, however, thought his works and the offerings of his hands was good enough for God - even after he was told the right way. He went his own way - the way of works-based salvation. As far as the seed of the Devil goes, it was spiritual seed, spiritual children - not anything physical or in their own physical makeup. Yes, since the fall, all of mankind has borne Adam's sin - that is why all of Adam's race dies, for the wages of sin is death. We all need a Saviour. The difference between Cain and Abel was that Abel chose to come to the Lord by faith, trusting in the way the Lord God provided, the way that pointed to the coming Messiah, the substitute who would one day die in our place.
  5. Hm, please show where the Bible teaches someone was baptized by the Holy Spirit AND fire in the book of Acts. John the Baptist indicated that being baptized by fire was eternal judgment (unless I am misunderstanding these passages). No one can be baptized by both of these. All true believers are baptized by the Holy Spirit; whereas all who die lost are in effect baptized by fire. Luke 3:16-17 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.
  6. You have no clue if you know the Bible better than anyone here, or whether you are more obedient to God than anyone here - you don't KNOW anyone here yet. Also, last I checked pride is the sin of the devil - and you are certainly walking in pride, which tells me you do not know the true God of the Bible nor have trusted Him alone for salvation - or you wouldn't be puffing yourself up and talking down to everyone else here. Last I checked, you were not Jesus. Also, explaining away a command to justify sinful behaviour is not something a true child of God would do.
  7. Catholics do not believe in the Gospel of salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. They add their works to what Jesus has done - therefore are trusting in a false gospel. The heart of their system is the mass, which is "sacrificing" Christ on all their altars, every day, all around the world. A system built on blasphemy - whereas Hebrews teaches Jesus paid the whole price of salvation by Himself, by ONE offering FOREVER.
  8. When Jesus told the religious leaders of His day that they were of their father the devil, He was referring to the devil's spiritual children, not physical children. As an angel, he cannot procreate. All the lost are children of the devil, children of wrath, until they come to the Lord Jesus Christ and trust in Him as their Saviour.
  9. You asked since when is calling someone a moron sin? I figured someone as "spiritual" as you would actually know the Bible. Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Raca means empty head, same as a moron. Jesus says when you go around calling others idiots, morons, fools, etc. you are in danger of judgment and hell fire. Guess you better repent before you get in trouble with the God and Saviour who spoke those words.
  10. The seed of the serpent is any of the Devil's children, and the seed of the woman is the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil would bruise Jesus' heel (ie. temporary wound), and Jesus would bruise the devil's head (defeat him, destroy him one day). Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
  11. You're certainly not Christlike here either...
  12. The "church fathers'" writings are what, for the most part, developed into the foundation of the Catholic church. Some of the doctrines and practices even had their start in the first century - as can be seen in the letter to Thyatira in Revelation 2. Some of the worst corruptions that crept into "christianity" were in the second to the fourth centuries: Augustine, Origen, Clement of Alexandria, Jerome, and many others.
  13. Hm, that's why I do not believe in that interpretation of Genesis 6 either! Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Angels do not cohabit with mankind - neither good angels nor fallen angels can do this.
  14. Well, looks like the "church fathers" got it wrong again. Yes, some passages do refer to the church as the temple of the Holy Spirit - that is not what is in view in Revelation. Also, the 144,00 is definitely intended literally - God would not go to such lengths to name 12,000 from each tribe to just state something symbolic. Stop listening to the Catholic church fathers that make much in the Bible - especially the book of Revelation - allegorical. The only way to take prophecy is literally - or else you will NEVER figure out what it is intended to mean or understand when it was/will be fulfilled. Yes, there is symbolism - but each symbol points to something literal, and God is consistent as to how He uses each symbol. Trace it throughout His Word to learn what it is symbolic of. In this case, it is not a symbolic - God is literally speaking about 144,000 male virgins Jews. Another thing, the church is no longer on the earth as of Revelation 4:1, which is when the rapture occurs (by comparing all relevant passages together) - so it is impossible for that group in Revelation 7 (which God defines in the exact same passage) to represent the church on earth when they have already been removed from the earth.
  15. Does Online Baptist have a working app again? I deleted it years ago because it was not working. I will download it again if it is working now.
  16. Jesus CAN do a miracle anytime He wants - however, the miracles associated with the signs and wonders movement are false, and there are no miracle workers today, as those were the signs of an apostle, to give authority to the New Testament books that they were writing. I know of some miracles today - like my sister's cancer vanishing completely inbetween one check up and the next. The doctors basically said there was nothing else they could do, as the treatments were not working. but the cancer scare got her attention and caused her to seek the Lord and be ready to receive the Gospel shortly thereafter. Maybe some would call escaping a deadly accident a miracle - or the exact opposite situation: All being destroyed in the crash except the mother's BIble, or in another case after the van burnt up in a fireball, a Ron Hamilton cd with the song Rejoice in the Lord (he makes no mistakes) was found. That find had a tremendous impact on the highway workers that were cleaning up the road afterwards.
  17. Invicta, seems you are too busy explaining away a word in the passage instead of applying the passage!! No, we do not have a physical altar, like in the temple or tabernacle - but neither has anyone else had one for over 1950 years. But the passage still applies today. Jesus said make peace with your brother or there will be consequences - whether that altar is a symbolic altar in your church or in your heart, Jesus' words still stand today.
  18. It's all good then!! (Is there a sarcastic emoji?) ?
  19. Yes, in Revelation, but it does not specifically say it was God's voice.
  20. There was God speaking in the darkness - don't know how loud His voice was though.
  21. TGL, you are right, that is referred to as an altar call - and to refer to the front of the church (or some part of it where you deal with your sin or salvation) is based on this passage, as far as I understand it - so it is not a "Catholic" thing: Matthew 5:23-24 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. That being said, there is nowhere in the Bible that it is stated that it is a MUST for someone to go forward to get saved or deal with their sin. Yes, a preacher should exhort applying the Scriptures, receiving Jesus as their Saviour, dealing with their sin and making choices to serve the Lord fully, etc. - but whether that involves a physical "altar" or emphasizing that the people listening take and apply what is being preached, pray where they are at, etc. - that is what is important. I have been to IFB churches that do both. A problem I see with one side is that people sometimes will not deal with something UNLESS they go forward - like a ritual (and sometimes pride gets in the way), and on the other side, some feel the pastor is not preaching right if he does not have an altar call (which is not in the Bible in the first place). Regardless, we are to take and apply the Word of God as we hear it preached, whether we physically go forward or bow our hearts/heads in our pews.
  22. If an ecumanical Jesus, who is only a man - or a man becoming a god - is good enough for them, what kind of false Jesus do they warn against or are unwilling to accept? The Bible tells us to be aware of and expose false doctrine, false gospels and presentations of a false god or a false jesus - yet many want us to embrace this one (or similar ones). NO WONDER THE MODERN CHURCH IS MOSTLY APOSTATE AND IN SUCH A MESS TODAY!! And people get upset that Jesus identifies this age as Laodicea.
  23. TheGloryLand, in 2021 and 2022 some of your posts seemed to come across (to me and Tony, and perhaps some others) more disagreeable and questionable - I think it was the way you expressed yourself. Now I don't get the same impression. You seem to understand more of where this site stands and what most regular members here believe, and overall appear to be in line with those beliefs - though at the beginning it did not seem so.
  24. If nothing else, it is an ecumenical effort, put together by Dallas Jenkins and his Mormon friends to unite their two "faiths" together, which he has stated he sees no difference between AND that they believe in the same Jesus. Anyone who knows their Bibles and who knows what that cult teaches knows that it is a false Jesus. This tells me either Jenkins is completely unsaved OR has no discernment whatsoever and has believed the lie of the Devil that a jesus that was just a man, the son of Adam God and brother to Lucifer, and who later achieved godhood, in the same as the Biblical Jesus.
  25. I was a part of the old website and was part of this site for many years, before I got depressed and left for quite a few years too.
