Ban Rachel because I'm totally from Kansas, but am just in CA for a few months, and I think "cotton-pickin'" is hilarious, but I was trying to get at the phrase "my goodness" that people use in the place of "my God" without really thinking about it (since Jesus IS our goodness).

Ban Rachel because the church here is totally better, and it's just until January, because cotton-picking is still funny as a colloquialism, and because Psalm 144:2 trumps heritage. :frog

ban samer for....(reading ps 144:2)...showing me the truth about that! wow, never thought about it that way...will TRY very hard to not say that, but you're NOT taking cotton-pickin' away! I'd die if I couldn't pick cotton every day! :)

Ban Rachel for being awesome like that, even for something so ingrained in common vocabulary.
And because "Oh my Word!" is another reference to Jesus that's snuck into our Christian language when people tried to be sneaky about blasphemy, and everybody has cottin-pickin' been using it ignorantly ever since.
