Does anyone else here enjoy drinking herbal teas? I love all kinds of teas, especially Asian teas. I like reading about all of the health benefits of them too.

Favorites are Chai, Brown Rice Green tea, a Korean tea made from Job's Tears(#1), and Jasmine. :D

I'm just getting into them, Kevin, but I like them hot or cold. At the moment we have some iced blackberry and green tea and it's GREAT! Healthy too...that's why I started on the Herbal teas...all the health benefits...that's your aunts fault haha.

Lol, and my aunt probably got it from my mom. Except my mom doesn't drink a whole lot of tea. I didn't use to either. But I really discovered it when I went to Korea and we had it at every meal and in between meals and out of vending machines.

I forgot to mention ginseng and ginger tea. Ginseng is awesome hot or cold. Oh, and it's not tea if it has to have sugar in it.

Kevin, I totally agree on the sugar thing. Sugar does NOT belong in tea, one of many reasons why I cannot stand the iced tea they make down south here.

I wouldn't like the ginger and ginseng one coz I don't like ginger. LOL.

I had a mixed berry and vanilla one that was really good.

Last time I had chamomile tea I ended up in the hospital...I enjoyed the tea, but I had the flu really bad, was dehydrated, and began to throw up everything including the tea. Got dehydrated so badly that I had to go to the hospital and be put on a drip...what's worse is it happened on a Sunday so it was no church for me, and when I got out of the hospital I had a HUGE green bruise on my arm from them trying to put the drip in.

It's not ginseng AND ginger. They are two different teas. hehe The ginseng has an awesome taste and it's really healthy. The ginger is really good too, it's got kind of a spicy taste to it.

I agree with you on sweet tea...nasty stuff. hehe
I will admit that I put a tiny bit of sugar in my rasberry zinger tea because black mixed with fruit teas need a little bit of sugar because they can't stand on their own feet without it. But it's the only 'American' tea I have up here. Yup, I have a water heater and several different teas in my bedroom.

I remember a drink we had in Korea that tasted like very thin and sweet cream of wheat. It was exceedingly flavorful though. YOWZA!!!! That stuff was soooo gooood. :D

I like alll those teas listed and all the mints, especially spearmint and peppermint. Still, Chamomile is my ultimate favorite. :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing:

Was the tea brown and really smooth? They have it in a lot of vending machines there. The Korean name is Yul-mu cha(tea). If that's what you're talking about, it is my ultimate favorite. :D

Here's a list of Korean groceries, or oriental groceries selling Korean food. It looks like you have one in Baton Rouge Katy-Anne. Of course, you will have to discern which one is Korean and which is Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese...hehe

Or you can order online at http://www.koamart.com or http://www.hmart.com (this is where I shop, we have a location here in Maryland)

Yes indeedy, that's the stuff. I was at a friend's house and his wife made it from scratch. It was incredibly fine and wonderful-good. :sing: :sing: :sing:

I just wish I could find the recipe for it. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY. :drool :drool :drool :drool :drool :drool

You can find it at some Korean groceries. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find. We used to have it at one of the stores here in Maryland and I only bought one bag thinking I could come back and get more but now they don't sell it anymore. :(

You just buy the bag of the powder, put a good amount in a cup, add a little bit of sugar and pour hot water over it. It has to be stirred really well or it will clump and leave a lot of residue on the bottom. But I tell you, if you make it strong enough and stir it well, there is no better beverage in the world. :D

Does anyone know if you can keep drinking all those teas while pregnant? I've been really careful and I haven't had any coffee.

I think certain one's like catsnip and chammomile maybe. I'm not sure about the others but I think most of them would probably be good for you. You can look them up online and they will usually tell you.

Here is one link: http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregna ... /3537.html

There are some good teas for pre- and post-natal issues. There is morning sickness teas and teas that encourage lactating and all sorts of crazy-lady stuff. Stop by your local natural food stores and ask the people there (preferably the owner if its a mom and pop shop). They are normally a very good source for information.

I am glad I am a guy.
