I think it's important for IFB's to identify ourselves as such. First of all, IFB isn't a denomination, it didn't come out of the reformation, they were there already. Who you identify with shows a lot about who you are and what you believe.

Yes it does. That is why I choose "Christian" Fundamentalist. So that I am identified with Christ and not a particular denomination. And we often tend to draw religious lines where we don't accept anyone outside of our denomination whether they are fundamentalist or have a good message or not.

Yes but like I said, Independent Baptist is NOT a denomination. A lot of liberals like to make sure they aren't identified with a particular denomination.

As I posted earlier: Denomination- a group or branch of any religion.

That includes the Baptist group. Why wouldn't they be a denomination?

I'm not liberal though. lol And I'm not afraid to be identified with it cause I will probably go to Baptist churches most of my life, I just don't consider myself one.

Your definition doesn't make Independent Baptists a denomination. Have you read the "Trail of Blood"? If not, google it because you can read it online for free.

Yes but just because the world calls us a denomination doesn't mean it's true.

I call myself a Christian. If someone asks me what church I attend, I tell them I attend a IFB.

Just for fun I voted for Charismatic, I want to see if anyone will react :) Probably not anymore, since I said I did it
