I love traveling, too. I've been to Europe 3 times (including France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Germany, and Italy -- on different trips, not on each of the 3 trips), and also I've been to the U.K. twice (in 1985 and again in 1988). I've also been to Singapore and Bali (in 2001 -- same trip). It was actually the trip to Singapore and Bali that convinced me I could handle the climate in Texas. :lol A few months after that trip we moved here from California. We've never regretted it.

I also love road trips (actually more than plane trips). I'd love to see more of our great country, and Canada too (I have family there -- in Alberta). I've seen Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, Arizona, North Carolina, and New Mexico (not in that particular order :lol ). I'd love to visit South Dakota (my mother's birthplace), Montana (my sister lives in Bilings), and go to any of the 13 original states where it all started.

The only thing I think I wouldn't enjoy very much would be a cruise. I've heard too many "horror stories" (people getting deathly ill), and I can't stand the thought of being stuck on a boat for days on end.

Cruising is awesome! :thumb It was one of the best trips I've ever had. If you go on Carnival or Disney then you might have a chance at having problems. But if you go on a cruise line like Celebrity or Royal Caribbean, you'll never regret it. At least I didn't, but I like all the free food. :lol
I'm planning on buying my ticket soon for Chicago. I'll be flying up to Illinois for a get-together of fellow students who are in the same college program that I am in. I'm helping put it together and I'm planning on doing Chicago and Dubuque, Iowa while I'm up there. I can't wait to see the Windy City and the Mississippi River. :sing:

I would recommend Pennsylvania. :wink

Yes, I hear Pennsylvania is very nice. :lol I'd particularly like to visit Lancaster County and go to the Wilbur Chocolate Factory. :drool

Actually it's mostly the "being stuck on a boat for days on end" part that's keeping me from wanting to go on a cruise. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. :Green

You can go on shorter cruises where you only have 1 or 2 days max at sea. And there are tons of things to do on the ship. Like eating for example. :lol

Uhhh, yeah. That's what I've heard...and that's what worries me. I think I'll stick to road trips, but thanks anyway. To each his own. :wink There's a lot of our great country I haven't seen yet, not to mention Canada. Oh btw, when I was listing the States I've visited I left out Alaska and Hawaii. I can't believe I did that.

I've been along most of the east coast and most of the states bordering the east coast. My sights are set on international travel. With the exception of Chicago and New York City. :lol I think I'd probably like to take a trip to Texas at some point too. After all, I did want to be a cowboy when I grew up. :wink

I can recommend Houston during any season except summer (which in Texas lasts from late May through late September), unless you like it hot and humid. I can also recommend Austin, though you have to watch out for the Liberals (they're everywhere). Austin isn't flat like Houston is, though.

My husband and I love road trips! We want to see all 50 states but he has me beat so far haha.

I've been to:
Maine
Massachusetts
New Jersey
New York
Delaware
Connecticut
New Hampshire
Virginia
Maryland
Pennsylvania
Washington D.C.
North Carolina
South Carolina
Tennessee
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
Mississippi
Louisiana
Illinois
California
Delaware

Not bad for a foreigner, huh? We're planning on a vacation in July and will either go wherever there is a campmeeting, or maybe head north through Arkansas and some of those places.

In Australia the states I've been to are:
Queensland
New South Wales
Victoria

Hey Katy-Anne, I noticed Texas isn't on your list. We're right "next door", :wink so if you and Jordan (and Emery) ever decide to venture westward and need a place to stop and rest, please let me know. We have room here. :lol

Thanks Chelle, we WERE going to go in the direction of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California, but we had too many people elsewhere that we wanted to see and Jordan reckons he can take me for an overnight trip to Texas anytime haha.

So we are gonna go through Mississippi (big deal haha we go to church there), Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, the bottom of Illinois, maybe through the bottom corner of Missouri and then back down through Arkansas. That way we can see all the people we want to see and also knock three new states (Kentucky, Missouri and Arkansas) off my list. Haha we'll probably drive all the way to either Atlanta or Tennessee in the one day. But we have eight days to do that trip in so yeah it will be all good.

Now we get to start planning when and where we'll be in certain places. Hehe fun fun.

Does anyone visit any National Parks/Monuments?

Two summers ago, my family and I went on a trip to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. On that trip, we visited:
Grand Canyon
Carlsbad Caverns
Arches
Pikes Peak
Hovenweep (Indian ruins)
Gateway Arch
Petrified Forest
(Four Corners - not technically a national monument)

Others:
Mount Rushmore
Several in D.C. (many times)
