Do you think that a person caught soliciting sex in a public place such as a restroom and is convicted and or pleads guilty, ought not to be able to hold any public office in this United States?

Please remember, there are restrooms in this country that are not really safe to go into because of sexual predators.

Seems Ben Stein thinks they should be left alone. I feel sure at that airport they had many complaints from people who were harassed by homosexuals, so to me the police were right in trying to clear the place out and make it safe for all people.

Why hold just the sex offenders accountable lets hold the rest of the criminlas accountable and ban them from public office if that's going to be the standard?

Here's some statistics from Capitol Hill Blue

http://www.capitolhillblue.com/Aug1999/ ... 081699.htm

After researching public records, newspaper articles, civil court transcripts, and criminal records, Capitol Hill Blue discovered that:

* 29 members of Congress have been accused of spousal abuse.

* 7 have been arrested for fraud.

* 19 have been accused of writing bad checks.

* 117 have bankrupted at least two businesses.

* 3 have been arrested for assault.

* 71 have credit reports so bad they can't qualify for a
credit card.

* 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges.

* 8 have been arrested for shoplifting.

* 21 are current defendants in lawsuits.

* And in 1998 alone, 84 were stopped for drunk driving, but released after they claimed Congressional immunity

Fire them all for being crooks and criminals and lets start over.

I may be wrong but I believe according to scripture that rulers are placed there by God. God has the power to put someone in office and that same power can remove him.

I read this article.

Sen. Craig reconsiders quitting over sex sting

http://www.berkshireeagle.com/ci_6806200

Seems this Senator may try his best to put the police who are trying to clean up the problem in that airport restroom as villeins out to ruin his reputation.

Seems now days people who break the law always want to make the police out to be the bad guy so they can get away with their crimes.

If he was to succeeds in this, it might be that no law officers could set up stings in such places as public restrooms where they get many complaints from people who are harassed by homosexuals. That might give the homosexuals a free reign to prowl for victims in public places.

However I agree, any one convicted and or who has pleaded guilty to a crime should not be in a public office that has anything to do with making laws or upholding the law.

So are you saying we should let our rulers break any law they want to and not hold them accountable?

Congress makes up their own rules, and chooses when to follow them and when not to, based upon the election cycle, the press and public opinion.

In America, under the Constitution, it's the voters who are to be the "rulers" and those they vote for are to be their representatives in the offices they are elected to. Under the American system of government, it's the citizens duty to elect proper representatives, to hold them accountable, and to call for their removal if they deem needful.

Of course, America has turned her back on God, and we see this reflected in those elected to office, the unconsittutional and ungodly things the politicians do and get away with (in the worldly sense), the acceptance of such by the media and most of the people, etc.

This is one of those place were I see it differently, they aren't a ruler over me, last time I checked this country was founded as a constitutional republic with all the power falling to the people. They are supposed to be our servants not our masters.
