As for your RM code.......I have this one reserved for your download: It is only available for your download.....RK4X-EAJK-AJRD-4YE9-FEKY-7A9D-CXRK-K93D

My compliments, use it and enjoy. Incidently, I am leaving in a couple of hours, flying to Florida for a business meeting and will be off of the forums till about mid week next week.:clap::clap:

Wow thanks! When you get back online, can you give or PM me the licensed name? It wants both a name and a number.

Have a good trip...oh and yes I do crochet! Only not lately... four boys keeps me too busy/tired for that. My favorite thing to do though is doilies.

There is *another* way of getting it to work...

...really, I'm a good hacker...

...if I used Windows (Linux doesn't have any of these problems--they just don't exist), I might have something for you...

...but the best thing to do would be to be patient if it doesn't work. I'm sure there are a few potions. Wait for gator to come back.

It sounds like your version of RM is a different one to that which takes the key. It is quite possible that it is a valid key, but it doesn't work for that version.

IMHO, gator really seems to know what he is talking about, so I would ask his opinion asap.

Also, it is not every day that someone is happy to help you out with your PC. They are that annoying that most people don't want to have much to do with other people's computers.

From memory, RM doesn't do an online check to see if the serial code is valid like Microsoft software does. Instead, it checks it against an internal database, which is unique to many different versions of the software. How unique it is or RM, I couldn't tell remotely. This means that the code will only work with particular versions of RM. As RM is updated often, the database will also change often.

What we should have asked gator was "what version does the code work on?"

Might be an idea to hold on till he comes back??

LAF, Kitagrl.......If someone else saw the codes online before you did and used them, then they are indeed invalid now. I am posting this from the Holiday Inn / Jacksonville, Fla. I will be back home tomorrow night and I will get in touch with RM to validate "who" has them.

In the meantime, I will post my email address / charles.miller@earthlink.net.....I will do what I can when I get home, and if you guys feel secure in doing it; then email me so that I can send a new one to you in a private email. I apologize for the inconvience.

I looked up AVG free and all it has is virus protection.. I want firewall and spam and pop up protection too.
All my computers are behind a router, which works as well as any firewall. I use gmail for my mail and it seems to filter spam better than any other I've found. Not perfect, but adequate. All of the newest browsers have pop-up blockers built in.

LAF,

I talked with RM just a few minutes ago, and they are sending me a new activation code, that will be used along with your email address to "create" an installation code for you. I will get back with you as soon as I receive it, I will need for you to email me at charles.miller@earthlink.net so that I can forward to you.

P.S. ......thanks for the people that prayed for my trip to Florida, everything went fine and I am back home now.
