Members John81 Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 This forum is, or should be, one of the most important ones on OB. This is where brothers and sisters in Christ come to share their burdens with one another and request intercessory prayer. Scripture commands that we are to pray for one another. We know our fervent prayers avail much. I know some people look at the posts in this forum and pray without responding but I think a response is appropriate. If one were to look at the requests in this forum there could be the perception that we don't have the time to pray for one another or we simply don't care. Look at how many requests show 20, 30 or more people viewed them, but only one or a few people bothered to respond. What kind of example is this setting? What kind of testimony does this provide to the lurker, the onlooker, the visitor? How about those who put forth their prayer requests needing the support of their family in Christ and they check back and it appears that only two people have taken the time to go before our Heavenly Father in intercessory prayer? I ask that all of us here pray about this situation and to commit yourselves to not only praying for our family in Christ, but making a quick post to let it be known you are; even if that post is nothing more than the prayer smiley. Members RayJr Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 I agree with you and I am one who looks prays but rarely replies will work on that thank you for bringing it to our attention, It never hurts to encourage people and let them know we are praying for them. Quote
Members John81 Posted October 13, 2007 Author Members Posted October 13, 2007 Thank you! I know a few who have posted heartfelt prayer requests here only to be very discouraged when they checked back a couple days later to find that only a couple people bothered to respond. Sometimes it helps to know our brothers and sisters in Christ are there for us and willing to take the time to go boldly before the throne of grace on their behalf. Quote
Members churchmouse7 Posted October 13, 2007 Members Posted October 13, 2007 I agree that we need to pray for one another and I have appreciated the concern and prayers of others here. I hope that I can pray for the needs of others here also. Thank you for this reminder of how important it is that we do pray and encourage each other. In Christ :pray Quote
Members Lee-Anne Posted October 13, 2007 Members Posted October 13, 2007 Thankyou for the reminder. I am one that looks, prays but does not respond. I will from now on. Thankyou for your rebuke. I will pray. :pray Quote

Let's use this area to edify one another. (Also... I don't post a response everytime I pray. We probably have more prayers than are indicated by the response. I pray this is true anyway.....) Quote
