I like the idea of the guy picking out the engagement ring and surprising the girl. Very traditional and I like that.

Too bad you aren't closer, I could do your cake. :cooldude:

Hehe, Rachel and I talked about that. I guess the mileage to Maryland would cost as much as the cake, so that would be a con, but having you (or y'all, as the case may be) at our wedding would be a plus, hmm...

 Great news!!!! :wedding:

When you get a date set, let me know. If I am preaching in the Maryland area at the time, I'll crash the wedding.

You should! Haven't you always wanted to meet Oliver B. Green's brother, Jack Greene (evangelist)? :Green

lol well I totally understand that, Samer... Vince would've probably surprised me with the ring if he knew my ring size before he got it. But I have a very small ring size and if he would've guessed, the ring would've probably fallen off...hehehe. :Green

That's cool that it was a surprise. I tried not to let Vince surprise me but he still did anyway (I didn't think he bought the ring, cuz when we looked at it I told him I wasn't sure about letting him get it yet...hehehe)

Yeah, definitely good to know some things.
In my case: "Hey, Rachel, what's your ring size?"

hehe, Vince tried that... I guessed it would be a 6 (I'd never worn a ring before), and then we found out I'm a size 4. :smile

What you should have done is tie a yarn on your finger and mail it to him to find out the size.

lol, I was wayy too stubborn to do that. :wink

I know, I'm crazy. :tum

Must be the red hair. :saint :Green just pickin' :Green

hehehe, actually... everyone says that :Bleh

Oh, that reminds me... when we picked out the ring, we were looking at 3 different diamonds..and it was REALLY hard to pick which one was my favorite. Anyhow, we looked at the first 2 and they looked the same to me... and then the last one was being really stubborn, like the salesman was trying to pick it up off the counter and it fell out of his gripper-thing and tried to bounce away... and he was like "wow, that's a stubborn one!", and Vince and I looked at each other and smiled... and the salesman noticed and said "hmm...so she's stubborn, huh?". It turns out, that diamond was the prettiest one so that's the one I got on my ring. :Green

:lol I am SO happy!

God has been so very good to me to bring Samer into my life. Knowing that it was God's will that we be together is wonderful. When Samer proposed to me last week it was the most wonderful day ever (other than when I got saved)! We've had SUCH great times together, and every time we're with one another it just gets sweeter. I left to come home today, and it was extremely difficult. I love him with all of my heart.

When he asked me to marry him and pulled out that beautiful ring, all I really remember was looking into his amazing eyes and saying "yes, I will". The ring is amazing and perfect for me, but I'd have to say HIS EYES were shining a whole lot more than this diamond ever will. :smile

We're excited about life together, and of course, we appreciate everyone's prayers.

Hehe, Rachel. You're such a sweetheart. I think I picked the right forum for this thread, because I sure didn't earn this. :)

I don't deserve it, either. Glory to God for being so good to 2 people that don't deserve any thing at all. He's so good to give us soo many blessings, Samer.

I forgot to say in my earlier post...

I met Samer's parents, his friend (Jason) whom I've been chatting with online for a long time, his pastor and church family (they're sooo nice, and love him so much)!

On Sunday night his pastor called us up in front of the whoooooole congregation to give our testimonies and for Samer to tell about how we met. It was embarrassing, but it's so cool how his church is like a huge family. Everyone was SO happy for us.
