My wife and I like spending time with each other looking for those elusive littla treasures at the end of the rainbow. If we find one thats great, if not thats great too. We've spent some quality time together without the hustle and bustle of this fast paced world. God knew what He was doing when He put so much beauty in this world. Stop and smell the roses. :amen:

I'm not familiar with the term "geocaching." What is it?

Its a game where a small treasure is hidden and you take a gps unit and enter the coordinates to find it. Its really a stress relief game to me. Check it out at http://www.geocaching.com . My wife really gets into it and wears me out walking and looking since shes better at it than me.

:google: Indeed! :cooldude:

It does look really cool. Imagine putting New Testaments and gospel tracts in them. Has anyone heard of this already being done?

My son-in-law took me on a geocaching expedition one afternoon while visiting here. It was a lot of fun.

I like the tract idea. I just IM my daughter and told her about it. They are going to do it.

It can be educational also, when I was teaching my boys map reading (we Homeschool) we looked up a couple local geocache sites and then we went and found them and left a couple of pocket John and Romans in them.

It's a great way to get yourself to do nature hikes. Around here, they have ratings for terrain difficulty. A quick Sat or Air photo of the area also lets you know what you might be in for.

A couple of my siblings do it at least once a week. I've done it a couple times. Some are easy one target small prize, some are in-depth theme types, making you learn the history of an area, or like one I did called Mission impossible, the first one had a tape recorder giving you your mission, and 5 stops later you found the cache, which happened to be inside an old artillery shell. I had it opened already before I realized I "defused" a bomb. Great fun.

Geocaching is pretty fun, unless you can't find the treasure, then you can just kick back, relax, and look at scenery. But my family and I did it a couple of times here in Kansas (you'd be suprised to realize that Kansas does have beautiful scenery :eek ).
