Prayer Request - Ruby L., Pollock, La.

This dear saint has bone cancer, she is 84 and will be 85 in May. The cancer is spreading throughout her body. The doctors have said there is nothing more they can do for her and sent her home. She isn't taking the pain medication they gave her. She said she is ready to go home to Pa Irvin, her husband, now residing with the Lord.

She has been a dear saint of God since I first knew her. She is the great grandmother of my children on their mother's side. I know her as Ma Ruby and so do my children. During the time I was backslid she never ceased to pray for me. When we spoke not long ago, she told me I'm still one of her children, even though my wife and I were divorced in 1987.

Please pray God would give her special grace especially if there is continuing pain. I would miss her presence with us but glory in her presence with the Lord. Also, please pray for my children, my children's mother, and my children's lost grandmother.

I just spoke to Ma Ruby on the phone. The unsaved daughter (previously my mother-in-law) is staying with her now to help out.

Ma Ruby is taking the medication for pain so, that is a relief. She would love so much to shout for the Lord and gave several hallelujahs to some scripture we shared. She looks forward to returning to Sunday services so, the earlier thought of resigning to die must have been a misunderstanding. She isn?t eating very much and needs to find foods that she can keep down. We prayed together and our desire is that unsaved loved ones would receive Christ as Savior. That saved family and friends would receive strength and assurance in Christ.

So, pray for Ma Ruby to regain strength and God to abundantly provide grace. Also, pray for her to have opportunity with the unsaved daughter and others with the Gospel of Christ. Finally, pray for family members to be saved and others to be encouraged by her steadfast trust in Christ.

I've just come home to a voice message from my youngest son. Ma Ruby is beginning to have kidney failure and has gone back to the hospital. I'm waiting to hear back from him now.

Please pray for God to give her the peace that passes all understanding. If these are the last days of her earthly tabernacle she will take another dwelling place of the Holy Spirit off the face of this earth. Pray God will grant another to be this tabernacle for God and dwelling place for the Spirit.

Ruby went home to be with the Lord at approx. 1:00 AM this morning. Praise God for a life that leaves no doubt about the location of the soul.
