Just a quick update. He came through the surgery better than we had hoped. They took most of his colon. said it was the worst they had seen in twenty something years. But the top part of the colon looked healthy. They left it. He will have a bag for now. Possibly, if the Lord is willing, in 2 - 3 months they can go back in and reconnect the part that they left and take out the bag. They put him in ICU for tonight. When we left (which was very hard to do) he was still very much "out of it." Please pray that he will get some rest tonight, and wake up more himself in the morning. Also please pray for us, as we will have an hour drive in the morning to get back to him. Plus running on very little sleep.

Just an update. My brother is doing better. We are still in ICU. His nerves are not doing as well as I would like. And I expect them to get worse. We had a problem today. The nurses have taken note that he does better with me at his bedside. They have been letting me and my mom set with him around the clock. My mom had a stroke 4 yeaqrs ago. She has panic attacks at times. It has been months since she had a full blown out one. Well, she had one today. Dad came up and he and she were visiting with him. I am the one who is best at bringing her out of them. Dad got me, and I rushed to her side. The nurse noticed me in a panic. She rushed in. Mom goes into a sleep state when she has an attack. So it takes a few minutes before I can move her. The nurse went and got the head nurse of the ICU. She insisted that she check him over. I told her I was refusing medical attention. She said that federal law required her to take over. I asked her for a statute. She would not give me one. I finally made it clear we did not want any help. Doctors at a glance think she is having a seizur. She has had one of the attacks on an MRI and it is nothing more than a panic attack. What they were doing was pushing me aside, with me knowing the diagnoses and treatment, and doing the wrong things to her. The atmosphere has changed. I sent mom home with dad. My wife and i are being allowed to stay, but with more strict rules. Please pray for us as I am uptight, and his heart rate is up. The nurse is trying to understand why, go figure. The whole thing went on beside his bed, plus more when I came back!!! Please pray for us.

Praise the Lord, we are going home. Both the docter and surgine have given their OK and we are now waiting on the nurse to take out his staples and another nurse to come and teach him some things to care for himself. He is a bit nervous as he is still weak, and not eating a lot. But with time these will come back if the Lord is willing. Thanks for the prayers.
