On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will once again attempt to find its way through the bewildering maze that is immigration law, with a new look at the lingering issue of the federal government’s power to keep non-citizens in detention while they await being deported.  The two cases to be heard tomorrow unfold against a broad constitutional background on the rights of non-citizens living inside the U.S., even those who do so illegally.

The cases, both on the same issue:

Johnson v. Arteaga-Martinez. Starting at 10 a.m.

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland v. Gonzales.  Starting at about 11:30 a.m.

The live audio (no video) will be broadcase at Quick Links on the Supreme Court's homepage--supremecourt.gov--and also can be heard at c-span.org/supremecourt as well as at C-Span App Now

If they entered this country illegally, they've proven they're lawbreakers and are a potential threat to our economy, lifestyle, and nation. They SHOULD be held until they are sent back to where they came from. They certainly shouldn't be allowed to run our country free as a lark to continue breaking the law. I hope the SCOTUS exercises some common sense in this matter.

What was the teaching of Jesus on how we are to treat the stranger?

A stranger is far different from an intentional, willful lawbreaker.

Let them force their way into to your house and demand you take care of them. It's no different.

These strangers can follow the law and wait in line like everyone else.

Scripture please.

Scripture to prove they aren't breaking the law by entering our country illegally and shouldn't be detained and sent back. It's your "baby" here...diaper it.

You said it, back it up. You can't and as normal you spout negatives and never back them up.

You're the one who posted what I responded to...it's your responsibility to back it up first...then I may reply. I have told you time and again, I'm not playing your "word games" or deflection tactics out...BILL!

Typical reprobate behavior. Notice Bill howls that we should obey the "laws" of reprobate men in government as long as the rulers are of his wicked ilk and the "laws, illegally imposed" in question are merely his cherry picked things like the fake vaccines. Like all religious hypocrites, he sings a different tune when it comes to legally enacted immigration laws.

Our Lord's teachings to show charity to strangers applies only to individual believers indwelt with His Spirit. Jesus clearly taught that the nations were Satan's. Bill and his installed puppet rulers would never dream of taking in refugees under their own roofs using their own finances. They tout fake "christs" and fake "gospels" to justify stealing from citizens whom make their own way in life to give to the "poor illegals" flooding the border to replace them.

The nations are under satan's control and when these governments forcibly take citizens earnings and give them to illegals it has nothing to do with our Lord (they hate our Lord and all of our Lord's followers). It has only to do with keeping and imposing control for the rulers own benefit. Never for the benefit of those citizens ruled over by them. And most certainly never for the benefit of the poor they pretend to care about but merely use to keep power.

Does this type of name calling meet or violate the standards of this discussion board?

I Hope these illegal immigrants have a better chance of hearing the gospel here.

Also, it’s not a God given right that we live in the same America that our forefathers lived in. I don’t support law breaking but I also want all people to be saved, and to be frank these people are leaving a country that is still ruled by Rome more than ours, and they are leaving to a place that is still more accessible to the Gospel.

Even if our country becomes full socialist and communist, the gospel will still be spread.
