I am curious if anyone uses this filtering software. If you don't, then what kind of filtering do you use?

Covenant Eyes is a subscription based online filter and accountability software. It is only about $10 a month and filters out porn sites (and anything that resembles a porn site). We have used it about a year and it works great.

Of course, but maybe not everyone feels the need to brag about all their convictions and standards. I see no point in using Covenant Eyes myself because we have on that works really good for free. I have half of the password, my husband has the other half. That way if it does block something legitimate, we can view it if our spouse is there, and our spouse knows we are looking at something that is ok. The program we use you can even cut kids off of the internet at certain times. I do believe it is important to filter internet especially if you have children.

I am not bragging about my convictions and standards. Maybe your conscience is bothering you.

I do not believe in allowing children on the internet. However, Covenant Eyes does shield the whole family from pornography.

Would you mind sharing with us what online filter you are using?

Why would my conscience be bothering me? I just don't feel the need to brag to the world about my convictions even if they are the same as yours.

Children can use the internet for school projects and things, although I don't care what you allow for your children, but ours will be allowed to research things on the internet. That's part of the reason we have a filter.

brosmith - we don't have internet at home right now. We never did, because we didn't want our son to have easy access to it. But with my hubby starting up a business soon, we will need to get internet. We will use Clean Internet. It's not a filter, but it filters at the server. There are still some things that could pop up - I've tested them just to see. Covenant Eyes is either the same program or a very similar one that a pastor friend of ours uses. He likes it a lot.

The best thing about Covenant Eyes is that it can be installed on all your computers without having to pay any extra fees. We have 5 desktops and 1 laptop and have it installed on all of them.

Does this send all the url's that are accessed on one's computer to someone else? That's what our friends' does.

Yes. That is the accountability report. But your accountability partner can be your spouse or a trusted friend.

happyChristian, I wouldn't pay for one since you can get the same kind of program with the same features for free and it's legal.

I don't have one. Is there a reason I might need one? (I'm not 100% sure what you are talking about :Green )

I'm the only person who has access to this computer.
