Thank you to those who didn't assume that I would be a terrible husband for believing that a woman should be a Biblical wife. The marriage is going great and my wife is quite happy.

We are currently looking for an apartment to rent.
We will continue the street preaching ministry.
She put in her 2 weeks notice to quit her job. (Another reason why I really wanted ideas for what she could do at the home, i.e sewing and etc.)

Please pray for us.

God bless.

Well, you could've just said you wanted ideas of things she could do to keep from getting bored at home... since she doesn't work an outside job! I would've totally understood that (I don't work outside the home). :smile

Laundry, planning meals, grocery shopping, cooking, picking up clutter, organizing the house, etc. keeps me busy enough as a stay-at-home wife. I guess that's because I'm still a newlywed (we've been married 3.5 months now), and I'm still getting used to all my responsibilities as a wife.

Just let your wife start with taking care of the usual chores, and encourage her to do something she enjoys - like a hobby. If she considers sewing to be a hobby, then that's great! She can also read books in her spare time, if she has any.

Most importantly, just treat her right. Give her plenty of attention and let her know how much you love her. Also, don't forget to compliment her on the little things.. like when she makes a good meal or when she wears something you think is cute, or anything like that. She'll love it (and the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31 gets praised like that by her husband... so you'll be helping her to be a virtuous woman!)

My wife and I were just talking the other day about the lack of knowledge modern day women have about things of the home, compared to women 100 years ago. Unfortunately there's a gap caused by the insurgence of feminism, that stopped wives from adapting to the change in technology of the past century. As someone who was a stay-at-home dad for over 10 years, I can tell you that there's more to HOMEMAKING than cleaning house. It's about making the house a home. It's about creating an atmosphere of harmony, peace and love. It's about building a refuge from the worries of the world.

They always make fun of "June Cleaver" for vacuuming in pearls, but that's a perfect picture of a woman who got that she herself was an intrigal part of the home, and if she didn't look good, the home didn't either. The world demeans the homemaker, insisting that real success means abandoning the supporting role in the home for a "career". But more often than not that "career" is working for someone else, supporting them. So how is working to further your boss's career more dignified than working to support your husband's career?

One bit of advice I'd give is to find some kind of time clock (http://slimtimer.com would work) and time your time spent working during the day because the job of homemaker has no real set hours, and it's very easy to fudge things and let idle time creep in.

Dusting is a never ending job, if there is nothing else that needs done at the moment, one can always dust.

And think about the women of yesterday years, picking vegetables from the garden, canning food for the winter, hand washing clothes with a scrub board, cooking on a wood stove, sweeping a dirt floor, plus most women had a flower garden to tend to and they did not even have a TV or radio to entertain them while they were doing all of this.

You women, I've got good news for you, there want be no dusting in heaven.

I don't mind the dusting...I HATE the laundry! LOL
laundry is never ending at my house! there is ALWAYS Laundry around here. Sometimes I threaten to make the kids have one church outfit, one "going somewhere outfit", and one play outfit. THat would really cut down on the laundry! lol

You all know that Sean is my husband and he mentioned all the things I can do. I Love to do them and have always dreamed to be a keeper at the home and even to home school. My joy is to honor God in whatever way I can. I think some of you read his post wrong maybe you should read it again. Our joy is for God to be the center of our marriage. God deserves all of us I mean he was the one who gave us our spouses and so many times we can take that for granted. God deserves our praise because he suffered for us and because he loved us when we didn't deserve it. Please like Sean said pray for us that we will remember to thank God and that we can honor him with our marriage. There is no greater joy then to grow in God and give him all the glory.

Psalm 30:12
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and be not silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

We all need to give glory and praise to the end for he suffered for us. In the above verse says for us not to be silent but to give thanks forever to the Lord our God. We don't give God enough glory like we should.

These verses have helped sustain me through many years of housework, child rearing, and homemaking:

Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Congratulations to both of you on your wedding and may you have a long and spirit filled marriage!

Congratulations, godsgurlie_077. I am happy for you! I did not have the opportunity like you do to stay at home when I was first married (either my unsaved or my saved marriage.) And, I had a 10 years old son, from a former marriage that could have used mom at home. You both have my blessing and encouragement. :amen: Enjoy life with oneanother, and I know the Lord will give you children to raise, as well. May Christ be with both of you.
