Her story seems plagiarized in some areas.  Todd Burpo's, Heaven Is For Real movie came out a few months back.

Similarities:

Colton sat in Jesus' lap, Annabel sat in Jesus' lap.
Colton saw his great-grandfather, Annabel saw her great-grandmother.
Colton waited a few months before sharing part of his story, Annabel waited a few months to tell her story.
Colton saw a sister that had died before she was born.  Annabel saw a sister that Christy had miscarried.

Reminiscent also is Don Piper's book, 90 Minutes in Heaven.

Don's accident is unverifiable.  No newspaper articles exist from January 1989 to corroborate his accident.
Annabel's accident is unverifiable.  No Newspaper articles from December 2011 or January 2012 to corroborate her story.

Many things in Christy's book don't add up.

Another pathetic attempt to gain some money and fleeting fame at the expense of the gullible and ignorant.

Hopefully these things will slow down, at least for a time, since so much has come forward lately of the falsehood of these stories.

I've read excerpts from several of these books, and actually read two of them (the died, gone to heave, come back with a great story books) and the main thing they all have in common is their unbiblical descriptions of heaven, angels and Jesus.

The other side of this sham is those who write books claiming to have gone to hell but given another chance at life so they can warn others of hell. Again, these books are filled with that which goes against Scripture. Even the idea of going to hell and being released to warn others of hell goes against Scripture. Then there are the fanciful tales of finding themselves in dungeon-like prison cells tormented by demons and similar nonsense which has no foundation in Scripture.

The Bible is clear, hell is a place of torment for all who end up there and there is no escape. Nowhere does Scripture say demons (devils) rule in hell or have any power over people in hell. The torments of hell described in Scripture never include demons torturing people or having any interaction with people at all.

It's really a sad testimony against so many Christians, pastors and churches (especially here in America where these books become so popular) that such books are readily received, bought, read, spoken highly of and even become the foundation of or talking point in many sermons (positively, not as a warning against).

If only Christians would read the Bible for themselves, learn God's truth, they would not be fooled and taken in by these lies of the devil which only serve to promote lies and distract from truth.

Golden gates? That's in San Francisco. Actually, the gates of pearl are in the New Jerusalem, while heaven it would seem, should have no gate, for no enemy could ever enter. But if it DID have gates, I suppose the COULD be gold.

But yes, agreed, a sham, parents taking advantage of their child's misfortune, to MAKE a fortune.

A new book was just released on amazon, barnes & noble, and hatchette, titled "Miracles From Heaven" by Christy Beam.

Christy gives an account of an unverifiable accident that happened to her then 9 year old daughter, Annabel, who is now 12 years of age. The alleged accident happened on December 30th, (or was it 29th? two different dates given in two different interviews. )

Annabel and her older sister had been playing outside and climbed a cottonwood tree.  Long story short, the then 9 year old Annabel, fell into a cottonwood tree through a hole in the tree which she was looking into... 30 feet above the ground.  She fell headfirst.

Allegedly, she blacked out in the pitch-dark surroundings inside the tree and that's when it happened.  She opened her eyes in heaven.  Sat on Jesus' lap, saw her Mimi who had died a few years earlier.  She also saw that Heaven had "gold gates."  So much for the Bible version that says they were of one several pearl.  John must have been mistaken.

Describing Jesus, Annabel said He had a brown beard, long brown hair and a long white robe.  He kind of looked like Santa Claus.

Jesus told her she had to go back to Earth, and that, though she had been suffering from two stomach disorders since the age of 5, she would no longer hav ethose disorders when the firemen rescued her from the tree.

While waiting to be rescued, Jesus left an angel with Annabel.  The angel was very tiny, like  a fairy.  It had wings.

Now, in one interview, her mother said she was healed within just a few weeks.  Yet Jesus said she would be healed as soon as the firemen rescued her from the tree.  Oh, in yet another interview on Fox News, her mother said she still had the disorders when she was 11 years old.  That was just last year... three years after she was supposed to have been healed.

Her book sells for 18.00 on amazon.  I'll pass.  Fanciful writing, I am sure.  One thing's for sure.  Jesus does not lie, so the Jesus she talked to more than likely was an evil spirit sent to deceive her.  And now, her story will deceive many more.

Check the garage attic. That's where Annabel is hiding! (You  remember the balloon incident.) :)
