Charlie Hebdo is continuing in the same way.  The copy coming out on Wednesday will have a cartoon of Mohammed with a sign "Je Suis Charlie".

WOW! That Charlie Hebdo stuff is wicked. I seriously doubt the ones who produced that went to Heaven. The Muslim religion is evil, but mocking and scorning them with filth is definitely counterproductive.

Noam Chomsky writes:    Charlie Hebdo Massacre Is One of Many Assaults on Free Expression

Paul writes:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

The British "Private Eye" is quite different from the infamous CH, largely satirising official folly, overspending, hypocrisy, etc.

I agree free expression is a good thing, however the thing about free expression is I also have the right to say what is expressed is garbage.  So many people seem not to understand that and accuse one being against free expression.  It is a two way street.

Speaking of free expression, has anyone seen the pictures which show just how fake and staged the unity march with the 40+ leaders was? The image constantly shown of them is from a low angle which makes it appear the leaders are locked arm in arm marching down the street in front of the millions on the street.

However, a photo taken from a higher elevation reveals the street they are on is completely clear of anyone but them and a hundred or so of their own people and security details behind them which provided the illusion of a crowd being behind them.

The American president didn't even show up because he said security wasn't good enough for him. So the security was good enough for 40+ other national leaders but not for OBama? Not even when they had an entire area of the city cordoned off for their fake "march with the people"?

What pathetic "leaders" we have these days. It was only a matter of decades ago, in the midst of world war, with many desiring to assassinate them, Churchill was in public often as was even Hitler, and these in open air, standing tall, with minimal security and virtually no protection from snipers. Leaders on all sides of the conflict had a measure of courage then (Stalin, FDR, and others were not afraid to appear in public and be among the people).

As much as we denigrate many of those WWII leaders (and some rightly so!) they all displayed courage that todays leadership lacks.

Our enemies see the lack of courage, they see the images of staged events, they see the photos of weak looking leaders (ever seen the photos of OBama riding his girl bike on an even surface with a bike helmet?)

I expect the US president will have more security than other world leaders, given that he's head of the richest and most important country in the world, but over in the UK I've often been surprised by how little security has been in place. Until the IRA bomb in the 1980s (or was it 1970s), Downing Street was still an open street, which meant you could walk up to the front door of the PM's house if you wanted. And just the other day David Cameron was leaving a regional meeting in a town hall with just a couple of security chaps milling around and a passerby accidentally ran full pelt into him. And I don't know if he does it anymore but he used to cycle to parliament and he managed to get his bike stolen twice.

The American president has a virtual army around him and security measures for the simplest of things are so huge and intrusive they cause massive and major disruptions.

Yet if 40+ world leaders felt secure enough to gather for their fake photo op on a cleared street in Paris, surely it was secure enough even for an American president.

The American White House was once very open but today it's an armed fortress.

To these politicians every issue to them is to glorify themselves. They do not care for the needs of the people, they only care for their political party and their own personal agenda. Like OBama, and I must include the Pope and other like minded Pharisees who are political in nature, most politicians use the media and the sufferings of mankind for their own good. Politicians are media driven and don't care a whit about righteousness.

And, thank the Lord Jesus, they are only temproary rulers. One day, soon I hope, the Lord Jesus will come back, take us home, and return as the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS! At that time, and only at that time, we will have a perfect and just King that reigns by righteousness and according to the perfect Law of God.

Hallelujah! Come Lord Jesus!
