Maybe he just had a "Momentary Lapse of Reason." One never knows? :lol

Just as reading after any man...we should excercise caution. I know that my friend, Kathie, reads his material, but she doens't go along with everything he says. She runs it past the Bible first...very wise thing to do as a Christian.

I've been reading some of his stuff lately just to learn more about him. He approaches thing in a very unbiblical way a lot of times' date=' so I'd be hesitant in taking everything he says as fact. He may say some good things, but it's a lot of stuff to sift through, IMHO.[/quote']

One of the several reasons my hubby and I quit reading his materials (of which we still own quite a bit)...

Yep!! Another one of the many reasons....

Amen to that! We are told to prove all things...and can only do that through rightly dividing the Word of God!

Thank you for saying that joyful. An older Christian man said on Sunday at my in-laws house..."Don't take everything that Ruckman says seriously." That is what everyone should do with all of these "prominent" preachers. The Bible is the sole authority...b/c man is human. :amen:

P.S. ~ Ruckman isn't the only one out there, either. There are a whole slew of them. The KJV 1611 AV should be our first source. Kathie is very wise, for someone so young (compared to me...LOL.) :thumb I love to see this in young Christian women and men. It is an awesome testimony to Our Lord Jesus Christ. :smile

Dr Ruckman read the Bible through 32 times in the two years after he was saved, and he's read it through now well over 150 times. That's why he knows a lot of stuff, because he digs into his Bible. His stuff isn't "between the lines" it's clear in Scripture but God sometimes doesn't reveal it until you've read through it many times.

Thanks Rachel and Molly! :smile

And I'll back Molly up on this one... Dr. Ruckman does say some things that aren't to be taken seriously, and people that hate him will use those words and try to make it sound like he's teaching something that he isn't really teaching. It really reminds me of politics, if you think about it.

This is borderline dangerous thinking.

I had a pastor, once, who felt the same way. God "revealed" some very strange things to him. Similar to what God "revealed" to Schaap up at Hyles... some things just plain aren't in the Bible. I mean yeah, I can read stuff and make stuff up that would seem to fit some verses, but then the evolutionists make stuff up that "seems" to fit the fossil record too. But when you look at the rest of the evidence, its clear it really doesn't fit.

I have heard a sermon by Ruckman and it was quite frankly the most crass, rude, un-pastor-like message I've ever heard from anyone...right up there with Phil Kidd, although Phil Kidd is more fun to watch. I have a good friend whose dad is into Ruckman stuff and he believes really crazy stuff. Its not like I'm unfamiliar with this guy....he has alot of truth but its when you embrace the truth he offers, that you are deceived into believing the lies as well.

You know what this reminds me of MrsW. When my hubby watches an movie over and over again. Last night he was watching a movie (I can't remember the movie, off hand..LOL.) He has seen that movie sooo many times. He saw something else in it that he had NEVER seen before.

BTW, I keep telling him that we should be Missionaries to Hollywood. hehe. He just gives me the look. They certainly need it out there, though. :thumb

Umm... how is it really that dangerous? If you read through the Bible 50 times, you're still not gonna get everything out of the Bible that's in there. Sure, there are always going to be weirdos that try to pull things out of the Bible that don't exist... but we can weed those out by actually using the Bible in context. If you notice something on your 128th time of reading the Bible that you never noticed before (and maybe never even heard preached before), does that make it heresy?? If you think it does, then that is dangerous thinking... because it means that you can only study your Bible until you've discovered why every Fundamental doctrine is true, and nothing more.

I dunno for sure, but I think she meant (and this is the way I took it) that it's borderline dangerous to think that just 'cause someone's read through the Bible a lot they will always be right? And she would be right if that were the case.

No one said that just because he read through the Bible a couple hundred times that he will always be right. If anyone said that, I would completely disagree with it. It would be just stupid to think Dr. Ruckman or any preacher has their doctrine perfectly straight after reading the Bible through so many times.

The funny thing about this is... Dr. Ruckman tells people not to just believe him, he tells them to read the Book for themselves. All of his emphasis is on that Book. He loves the Bible so much.

Read the part that Suzy bolded...

Yes...I read it, MrsW. That sounds very logical to me. My assistant pastor gave a sermon a long time ago that stated that God reveals 364 times in His Word the same thing repeated (Gentiles) to us...b/c we are "dumb sheep." LOL.

And...NO...OB...skeptics (some of you) I don't have "proof"...however it is archived someone in my church's website. I will say, again, like it has been stated that I don't go to "secular" sites for the Word of God...b/c I don't trust them. Thanks to ALL who say...Rachel, for one...that the Word of God comes first...Not the websites when it comes to God's Word...unless it is VERY reliable. The KJV 1611 AV.
