Hi folks.  Last week my uncle went into the hospital after suffering several mini strokes.  He would slump over and his speech would slur and then would recover and go about his business.

In his brain was found a mass and yesterday an operation removed it and the biopsy has come back that it is cancer.

Thus far he has vehemently rejected the gospel, my last attempt several years ago was met with a most hurtful attack.  Typical Catholic, once married a Jehovah's Witness and was involved in their "church" and once in a while will go to a rock-n-roll church for major holidays with my folks.

First and foremost I pray that this event softens his heart so that his ears will hear.  He's very scared of what is to come.  I pray that he will make repentance towards God and accept Christ as Lord and Savior.

Next, I pray and ask that the Lord guide the hands of the doctor's and nurses during treatment and comfort him, my aunt and mother, they are all a wreck, having no eternal hope either.

A blown transmission has kept me from traveling down to the hospital and it looks like the car will have to be junked.  We plan to visit on Sunday, between services.  I pray that the Holy Spirit can use me and that I don't mess it up.

James

Visited with my uncle today, took my entire family down to see him.  This is the first time he's eaten solid food in days and he was talking much better.

Still hostile to God, he was cursing him for his cancer earlier and still blaspheming His name and cursing every sentence, par for the course with that man.

However, a brother and sister in Christ, from my local church, sent him a card with a verse.  He opened it, got out his reading glasses, read it, stopped to wipe tears away, closed his eyes for a time and was much calmer for a time until he heard about a policeman handing out parking tickets downstairs.  The verses he read were from the book of Ephesians.

Thank you for your prayers and I'll keep y'all updated on his conditions, physical and more importantly, spiritual.

So sorry I just saw this now, swath.  I will pray for the salvation of your uncle, and his healing after surgery.

Praise the Lord that he soaked in some of the word of God!  Maybe you can find someone from your church to lead him to the Lord?
