Walker has done some good things for WI - most notably the victory over unions.

But, well...He has made it clear that he favors a path to citizenship for illegals. Now, most might say that's ok. But it isn't.  His usage of that terminology was not accidental. It is nice-speak for amnesty. Even though he's kind of back-pedaled on it.

He also has been soft on common core - for it and agin it.

To me, he is just to the right of RINOs. I know people will say that everyone can change their views.  And that's true. However,  when those views change according to polls, what we have is wishy-washy.

He does claim to be a Christian - his family attends a Community church. Because I have no reason to believe otherwise, for now I accept his word on that. The media can't attack him on morals, etc, so they get him on other points.

He and Rubio have received quite a bit of coverage lately, as has Rand Paul. Cruz tends to be ignored by the media. I believe the reson is that they know if people hear Cruz, all the others won't stand a chance.

Yes, I was aware of flip-flop on amnesty. I wasn't aware of the common-core. I couldn't back up the comment about "just to the right of RINOs" because of his successful union busting; the RINO crowd would reject him. I found that he is part of the 'non-denominational' flavor and wonder why he had to move away from his families traditional Baptist roots?

His union busting is the reason I said he was just right of the RINOs (and, yes, you're right - RINOs would reject anyone who is anywhere right of them!). He actually tried to stop the state legislature from voting on it. He claims it was just while the broo-ha-ha recall was going on. But he's awful quick to explain things away, IMO.

I couldn't swear to it, but I really think he's rather like a weather vane. I hope I'm wrong, but immigration and common core are biggies right now and could very well tank Jeb. Walker would not want to die before getting out of the gate.

I don't know why he left his Baptist roots either. I have to admit I am curious about that.

Might be interesting to hear that explanation!

In the case of limiting your choice of secular public servants because they are not Jesus Christ or at least the pastor of a local church...

...and we got Obama for a second term. The wolves are gnawing on us.

It is because we haven't limited ourselves to Bible believing Christians that we have "chosen poorly"...and got Obama for a second term.  We as a "Christian" nation deserve Obama as president.  When we as a nation compromise the fundamentals of the Bible and support a false "Christian" like Romney, we get exactly what we deserve.

So, which false Christian would you have everyone support? Maybe John has one to suggest?

Why would you think I would want everyone to support a fake Christian? Don't we have enough of those in office already?

That is just it.  We need to STOP supporting false Christians.  Obama claims to be Christian.  Is he???  Mitt Romney claims to be a Christian and that Mormonism is just another "Christian" religion.  How perverse!!  Jimmy Carter claims to be a Christian and is a Baptist, would you vote for him??  If you can take your Bible and match your candidate up to the Word of God, then give him your support.  If you can't, FIND ANOTHER CANDIDATE OR DON'T VOTE!!

I was told that if I didn't vote for Romney, that I would in a sense be voting for Obama and that this country could not handle another 4 years of Obama.  First, I must say, if you held that belief, SHAME ON YOU as a Christian.  That belief has God no where in it.  I'll say it again, that belief has God no where in it!  That belief states that our faith is in man!!  My faith is not in the man in the office, but in God over the office.  In Proverbs we learn God can use a wicked ruler just as He can use a righteous one.

Ted Cruz does talk the talk.  And so far, I believe he walks it too.  If he gets the nomination and nothing comes out that he is a fake, I can support him and maybe a Scott Walker--although I don't know much of him.  But if someone gets the nomination that is a Christian only in word and not deed, I am not voting for them.  I will pencil in the name of my pastor if I have to and I will go to bed that night knowing my faith is fully in God no matter the outcome of some temporal election.

I've been through all of this before (2008 and 2012). I may before 2016 put it all out there again but for now I won't entertain the 'conversation' it will just lead to more ungodliness.

That's interesting.  I was thinking about this very thing the other day.  It's claimed politicians don't keep there promises in some cases.

1 timothy 2   exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Salvation is priority one for me.  You could compare politics to a game I suppose.  One side wins one side loses.  It's a struggle.  It's what God tells us.  That's not where the real struggle is.  Ephesians tells us where the real struggle is.....

Ephesians 6:12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Now clearly that verse is not speaking about our civil authorities that are in charge. Or political opposition. Why?  Because they are flesh and blood. When someone changes their mind.  Say an authority.  From what they have previously stated.  In regards to an issue or vote. I have to wonder why.  The mind change.  Could it be.  The rulers of the DARKNESS of this world just could have an affect.  So it might possibly be its not so much who is in there.  As what is having an affect on them.  That's why "Christian America" bothers me so.  So many people on a different page now.  Than what the New Testament tells us what to think in regards to government. Seems to be the one place people depart from clear teaching.

In addition.  You can't put the whole onus on yourselves.  You can pray.  However.  This isn't an entirely Christian nation.  You can fight with sinners.  That accomplishes nothing.  In my opinion.  Cause and effect. Widespread pornography as I pointed out in another thread.  Now you have sodomite rights everywhere.  In a short time too.  I don't see saved Christians as failures at all.  You have the righteousness of God.  Your just indignant as you look at the result of fallen man.  That hasn't changed from the beginning of it all.  You have the saved and the unsaved.  The unsaved just don't understand the things of God.  Sometimes they try. That's a good thing.  When they do get saved.  If they truly are.  Everything changes for them.
