Oh my word, its gonna be a LONG four years! I don't CARE what kind of dog the Obama family buys for the White House....good grief! FIND A DOG AND SHUT UP ABOUT IT!

And now he wants more funding for his transition.

And he's already working with Bush as if he's already in charge.

This guy is driving me insane. He's the biggest news maker there is...but then you read the news and you are like "What news?"

I imagine it's like this with whoever is a newly elected president. Things like getting dogs, etc., are things the public likes to hear about, it makes them more like just another family. First pets are always talked about in the media.

I know, but there isn't even a first pet yet. LOL. I wish they'd get on with it.

In times past such stories were side issues put forth for some levity. Today they take on a life of their own. Also, while in times past other news events continued to receive good coverage, today the news media tends to focus almost exclusively on one story at a time for as long as they can get away with it as if there is nothing else newsworthy happening anywhere in the world.

Hmmm - this whole campaign has been a two year courtship between Obama and the media. He has charmed and sweet talked them with his well dressed glib mannerism. Now he is on the Honeymoon, and the media is just gushing over every single cute thing their honey bunch does. Wait until the actual wedding though - after the inaugurations he is going to turn around and show them "some things are gonna CHANGE around here!" Then it will be like the worst marriage ever seen because the first thing that will go out the window will be freedom of the press, and freedom of speech! :uuhm: :coffee

That won't bother the liberal media any since they are already in lock-step with Obama! If freedom of the press and freedom of speech were limited in some manner, they would be the ones Obama would use as his "official" media outlets. They would be "approved" while those who refused to tow the liberal-socialist line would find themselves under attack.

Yes, you are right. That's why the media even worked against the liberal left Hillary Clinton! To the, Hillary wasn't far enough to the left!! That's why they did all they could to ruin her campaign and build up Obama's. Most of the media isn't just liberal, they are socialist and they want this country run by one of their own.

Sure, they like to talk about "freedom of the press", but what they really mean is they want the freedom to push their agendas but they would have no problem if all other voices were silenced.

Several things to watch for; Law of the Sea Treaty (L.O.S.T.), North American Union (N.A.U.), The Fairness Doctrine and of course The One World Bank. Be prepared to stand with our pastors as they continue to bring the word of God as it becomes even more politically incorrect than in the past. This isn't doom and gloom, only a good dose of reality, God as always is in control and we rest assuredly in the palm of His hand. Praise God for the peace that surpasses ALL understanding.

When God's people become lethargic He sends wake-up calls. So many American Christians are into "comfortable Christianity". They have no real concept of the idea of sacrifice for the will of God and no real desire to give their all for God.

In some countries today, and in times past here in America, some folks would make hazardous, long journeys to hear the Gospel preached. Today American Christians complain about having to get out of bed early Sunday morning (after staying out late Saturday night), not getting enough sleep, having to go to church.

American Christians are exceedingly well-off yet giving to the church, missionaries and to the helping of the needy is tiny and much smaller today than even just 40 years ago.

Persecution and hard times are sometimes necessary in order to wake-up God's people.

Do so many American Christians really need three cars, four TVs, the latest cell phones for the entire family, designer clothes, more gadgets for the kitchen, more 'big boy toys' for the man of the house, etc.?

There is nothing wrong with such things in and of themselves so long as we are not neglecting eternal matters. How much are we giving to our local church? How much are we giving to missionaries? How much are we giving to the poor?

Many churches used to give 10% of their "income" to missionaries. Today that percentage has dropped to about 4%. Even churches are giving less!

How often do we volunteer our services to the pastor? How many of us know of churches, perhaps even our own, where a small group of people are the only ones who ever volunteer when help is needed?

America is a very sinful nation and that God is punishing America is evident and just. American Christians have lost sight of pursuing holiness and fully submitting theirselves to the will of God. Will God not bring something our way in an attempt to turn us fully to Him?

Don't be too light hearted about it. Many people are in a frinzy about this whole situation. Loading guns lock, stock and barrel...... it will be even harder if we lose freedom of speech and press.
