He stopped creating. He rested from his creation work. He ceased creating.

Oh ....He ceased from His Labor?

Correct translation :)

Do you want to talk about the verses and how you can not place "rested" in Hebrews 4:10?

You make the words so that they are interchangeable. They are not. If you say rest.... you need to clarify it with ceased. If you say ceased... you do not need to clarify it with rested.

Do you see a difference?

Does God split hairs?

Is close good enough?

Are you God?

The KJV has been good enough for me for over 40 years. It will continue to be so.

I am certainly trying to be more like Him and see everything from His point of view.... Don't you?

I love the KJV. Flaws and all. I certainly will not make a flawed translation to be One with the Creator of all things. Never.

Of course I want to see everything from His point of view. That's why I read the Bible - the KJV. Who ever said that it was one with the Creator?

I'm guessing this man has no Final Authority judging from the way he acts like a pharisee and "strains at gnats" (Matt. 23:24)
The simple fact is, the Bible says He RESTED. What did He rest from? Creating. Has He created anything since He rested? The Bible creates it's own meaning for words. Cease and rest mean the same here. If you have some faith for once that the KJB is the ultimate, innerent authority then you would be willing to compare the scriptures and realize that. Not to sound rude, but my Saviour described these kind of people best.
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment , mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also." Matt. 23:23-26
For every one "mistake" in the AV there are atleast 2 in the MV's.

Of coarse when people teach that the KJV is perfect and completely perfect they teach such things....

Tell me the difference?

Are you straining at my words? Why apply Matt 23:24 to me? There is always alot of straining going on.... I am looking for substance.

Sure God has created something since he rested....every heard of Calvary? Wasn't that a creation of God?

Cease and rested do not mean the same thing here. If you rested then I would say you are tired.

lets say you are correct.... which certainly your not... then why did the translators say rested in Hebrews 4:10?

I am not talking about the MV's. I am talking about the AV's... but at least you admit there are mistakes in the AV...

Sir, don't lie. You aren't looking for answers. You are fully convinced of what you believe. You keep going back to the same argument. The fact is rested means ceased and ceased means rested. The Bible used these two verses to clarify that. I'm sorry that God's Word doesn't conform to your definitions of words. I used quotes on mistakes for a reason. I believe there are no mistakes, just tough verses, which can be solved with a short Bible study. On the other hand, no amount of Greek and Hebrew and long ridiculous discussion can clear up the massive contradictions in the MV's. Hmm...

How was Calvary created? Everything that was involved there already existed...

You mean that Christ was already born of a virgin?

Talking about missing the forest....

And your not fully convinced? What does that have to do with anything?

I will change my mind if you provide a logical argument or evidence to otherwise. Will you?

Ceased and rested do not mean the same thing. They are different words. Have you every studied english? Those two words have been around long before 1611 and have always meant different things. You can not talk about rest without it carrying the connotation being tired or weary.

Cease does not carry that connotation. Its a better choice in words. A wrong choice made in Gen 2:2 and a correct choice in Hebrews 4:10

So you don't believe there are any mistakes in the AV?

So your answer is that God used the 2 verses to clarify one another?

What happened for all those generations between God giving Moses Gen 2:2 and God giving man Hebrews 4:10?

The hebrew word of rest is sh

Nope; not frustrated at all.

I went and looked in my own dictionary (Webster's New World Dictionary, 2nd Ed.): 2. to stop, stand, rest, remain - sounds like cease to me...

and at Merriam-Webster's online dictionary: 2 a: freedom from activity or labor b: a state of motionlessness or inactivity - sounds like cease to me...

and at TheFreeDictionary.com: 1. Cessation of work, exertion, or activity. - sounds like cease to me, especially since "cessation" is a form of cease...

Saying that rest and cease can't mean the same thing is like saying that rest and stand can't mean the same thing when in fact they can. A "rest" when used as a noun can be a stand for something. Another "rest" - also used as a noun - is a musical notation which means to stop singing; it doesn't mean lie down in the choir loft and start snoring.

You are most definitely splitting hairs with this "error". Find another one more substantial.
