Members swathdiver
On Thursday I am going for an outpatient procedure. However, today I got a call from the hospital saying that my portion of the bill is over $800! Checking our insurance and getting through the lawyereze, they're right! What are we paying $7k a year for? In a couple of weeks our insurance is up for renewal at my wife's job. Cigna totally revamped their insurance, lowering our yearly amount by a couple hundred but giving us a $3k deductable instead of $750 plus 20%. To top that off, payments are not based on your options (there are none) number of family members or medical history but SALARY!!! Yes, they've gone Commie and are going to make the folks with higher salaries subsidize the folks who make less! In a few hours we'll see what the cash bill would be and see if we can make payments. Seems they want it all up front and that is not going to happen unless the Lord suprisingly provides for us again. How do my brothers and sisters in Christ handle medical insurance and or medical care without it? I am practically disabled and take regular medications and need outpatient procedures and physical therapy done on a regular basis. However, with this company and this one-size fits all plan, we can not afford to go to the doctor because our portion of the expenses are so high. Yes, I know this is what OBama and the Statists want, to collapse the system, but I need a work around to keep myself around long enough to raise my kids and spoil my grandchildren. Besides, my wife would kill me! Please let me know what some of you do and pray that our needs are met and if so, pray that the doctors and nurses hands' are guided by the Holy Spirit. Thanks! Members John81
Praying... We've had similar problems and other than making payments, which so far we've been able to work out, I've not found any other solution. We got hit with "our share" of a 5,000 dollar bill that was supposed to be totally covered by the insurance company. Somehow they didn't cover it all and we got stuck with a huge bill. We are still making payments on that. There were some problems with the healthcare system before, but Obama has really made a train wreck of things and it seems to only be getting worse. At least before Obama we typically knew what to expect and the insurance actually covered most things and the deductable was tolerable. swathdiver
Members 1Timothy115
I'm praying brother and I'll talk to my wife and see if she can think of some things. Do you have any secondary insurance? A relative you could contract with and make payments to? Do you have a savings account you could use as collateral on a personal low-interest loan? If eligible I wonder if the VA can help? Check with the hospital to see if there is a benevolent group they know of who can help you. (I'm just brain storming until I have a chance to speak with my wife) swathdiver

Members JerryNumbers
Hope & pray all goes well, sad to say most insurance companies are nothing but rip offs & they pay our congressmen to make laws that favor them so that they can get richer.I recall years ago I went to the hospital for test, had good insurance, but said I had to pay before the test. I told them, my insurance will pay for it, the said, no, it want pay for all of it & you must pay for your portion before the test are done.I took out my bill fold, opened it up, I showed them, I had $5.00. The I turned & started walking off putting my billfold in my hip pocket, they said something, I kept walking, them they started hollering at me to please come back. I turned & went back, & they said 'You can go ahead & have the test,.' I replied, 'No, I can't, I don't have the money you demand of me & you have already told me I cannot have the medical test until I pay, & I sure don't want to make you break the rules.'They apologized over & over saying, 'You can have theses test done.'I did, & my insurance paid the whole thing.I figure, if I had given them money, I would never have got it back.Oh, the only reason I had $5.00 in my billfold that morning was I could not eat breakfast when leaving home that morning, & after the test, before going to work, I went & ate breakfast. Members swathdiver
I've walked out of more doctor visits than I can count because the clerks demanded more money up front than was due them, if any at all. Seems they are mighty confused with all the different insurance plans out there. UPDATE: Thanks so much for your prayers and support. With these new doctors (fired the old one and hired a new one) they have finally, rightfully identified and explained my condition to me and have taken immediate steps to improve my health. So far it's working. With all the new activity I've been able to do, I'm pretty sore but Glory to God I'm feeling so much better! 2Tim215 and John81

All types of insurance are making those who don't use the service much, pay for those that do. Here we have national Insurance which you pay from your salary, which I paid all my working life. It pays all your mediacl bills, except drugs, for which there is a set price for each item. I don't know how much it is, as I am a senior, I don't have to pay that. My wife had a brain haemorrhage over 15 years ago and had to undergo intensive surgery. We were glad of our health service then. Last year she had an hernia and had surgery for that. We don't have to worry about any surprise medical bills,
