Hello From The Highlands!

Hi everyone.

I have been searching for an Independent Baptist Site like this for ages.

Sorry...where are my manners! My name is William MacDonald (Uilleam Domhnallach), in the Gealic.

I have lived in the Highlands of Scotland all my life. I live in a small town called Tain, which is located 35 miles north of Inverness.

I was saved in September 2003, baptized in the December and became a member of the only Independent Baptist church in the Highlands.

Unfortunately our pastor had to leave after 9 years...but I have a missionary family coming over to continue the work that the Lord started.

I look forward to hearing and reading what everyone here is posting.

I'm with the FIEC, which is largely independent baptist. I think there are a few FIEC churches in Scotland & we are in fellowship with some free Presbyterians through the former British Evangelical Council, now Affinity. Of course free Presbyterians, though fundamentalist, are neither independent, nor baptist, but Scottish church divisions are unlikely to be an edifying subject for this forum.

I note that the FIEC are going to disfellowship churches that have become involved in Churches Together.
