Amazing Grace, based on the life of antislavery pioneer William Wilberforce. The movie captured the period and Ioan Gruffudd and capturend the man. I thought the screenplay was great.

I watch few movies because I can't sit through them without something appearing which can't be shared with my God. The Lord could be in the room with me for this movie.

Rent and watch or buy this movie for your library.

I agree. Though I don't usually care for these kinds of movies(and I will say that I didn't like their portrayal of John Newton), I did enjoy watching this one. The only language that comes to mind off-hand came from the guy playing Newton, which is why I didn't like the portrayal.

More on the Dove codes...look for "Rating Descriptions" pop-ups from any of their movie "Read The Review" to see these codes.

CONTENT RATING DESCRIPTIONS

Sex: 0: none
1: on-screen acts of romance
2: infidelity; implied pre-marital sex or secondary lead characters with consequences
3: inappropriate sexual relations without consequences

I am in no way advocating Dove or it's system. I just found Dove within the last 2 posts. However, I say it is helpful to me.

I think pluggedinonline.com is the best place to go for reviews. Here's what they said about language:
"Characters use the British profanity "bloody" at least eight times. "H---" is uttered half-a-dozen times, and God's name is used as an exclamation about that many times, too. "N-gger," "a--" and "b-llocks" (another British vulgarity) are used once or twice each."

I liked Chris Tomlin's music video and added refrain (My Chains Are Gone) that he did for this movie. How impressive is that? You get asked to write a refrain for what is arguably the most recognizable song in the religious world.

I haven't seen the movie, but I have seen the music video. I really like the additional refrain that he wrote, but I don't care for his singing style - too breathy for me. It is neat, isn't it, that he was able to write the refrain and if fit so well with the other words.

Yeah, his voice is actually a little grating after about four or five songs. Still, he may very well be one of the most prolific contemporary hymn writers of our time. His song, "Jesus, Messiah" makes me want to cry every time I sing it.
