Funeral Today

I have a funeral today for an elderly lady. Please pray for the service and then over the next few days pray for "Ruth's" family. She was saved and she a faithful church member though she was "shut in" when I came here a hear ago.

I am praying that the Lord uses this funeral as a testimony to the lost souls in your area, holster. May Ruth's family be convicted of their sins and come to know Christ as Personal Saviour.

Thanks for all your prayers. The funeral went well (I think). She had donated her body to science so there was no body (or ashes, cremation seems to be popular in this area.)

After first agreeing that an invitation was OK the family backed off and asked that I not give an invitation (I just ask people where they sit to accept Christ, I don't have them come forward in a funeral service - then I followup.)

Ruth's life verse was Eph 2:8,9 so I preached on GRACE. I preached GRACE and GOSPEL telling what she had done to be saved.

I thank God that I was able to preach the Gospel even if I could not extend an "invitation." Any lost person there knew what they needed to do......

Bro Greg, I'm glad to hear you were able to share the Gospel. We both know you did give an "invitation" and that was inviting them to Christ. A greater act of kindness you could not have done.
