That is, if indeed you do enjoy this particular confection. :lol Personally, I cannot imagine life without it, nor would I want to. My wife likes to get it at discount grocery stores that sell their things for only pennies on the dollar of the original price. I get it at one of those stores too, but in humongous 8 pound buckets. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY!!!!!! It is so natural that there is nothing in it but peanuts that have been ground up and liquified. No salt, no hydro-fat, no nuthin'. :Green I bring it home and put it in the freezer for later use. Okie dokie, it's later. Get that bucket out, thaw it and dip out several pints into individual containers…

I actually dreamed about eating stuffed eggplant last night, and it was so delicious in my dream! I don't think I've ever had it in real life though, but it got me curious about trying to make stuffed eggplant. Does anyone have much experience cooking eggplant?? And by the way, I was reading about it online, and I read somewhere that eggplant is actually a BERRY! :-S

Is there anything useful you can do with the pulp that's left over? Like use as thickener in muffins or pancakes or something? I hate to toss it out, but I don't know what else to do with it.

My wife did another birthday cake -- this one for some friends. It was the most detailed thing she has attempted to date. Think it came out OK.

hungry kidlets. I make a huge pot of beans with a big pan of cornbread, and whoosh! It's gone in a flash with kids still wanting more. I make a HUGE salad with meat, eggs, veggies, fruits--anything you could possibly think to put in a salad and whoosh! It's gone with them still asking for more. I make all kinds of good stuff and it's like they are bottomless pits. What shall I do when they are teens?(Get a second mortgage on the house to pay for their food?) So, if you have any super-good, extra-filling, dairy free recipes, please share them with me.

I use a chili sauce called "sriracha" with some of my meals. For lunch today, I had spaghetti and added a little sriracha sauce to spice it up. Had some jambalaya the other day and added some sriracha to intensify the spiciness. I use sriracha with soups, eggs, meat, etc...works like a charm for me. Anyways, I think it's awesome! Love, Madeline

There's a 20 year old guy visiting us here for 2 weeks. He's not staying with us, but he's over at our home for supper each evening. Usually in the evenings we have leftovers every few nights or sandwiches or just something simple like that. However, with him here, I'm feeling then need to come up with good new meals every single night. He's already been here a week, but I need a few ideas for this week. Tonight I think I'll just heat up some frozen pizzas I got today since it was a crazy day, and then I have beef for a crockpot roast one night. And I'll probably do my favorite crockpot chicken meal another night - you know, the one with cream cheese in it. Any oth…

Here are some easy condiment recipes that come in handy. Blackberry Jam 5 cups fresh ripe blackberries 1/2 cup water 4 cups sugar Wash the berries and discard any unripe or damaged fruit. Place the berries into a heavy post. Add the water and sugar and bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook, uncovered, until the jam reaches 221 degrees on a candy thermometer. Stir it occasionally. Remove the pot from the heat. Skim the top of the mixture. Spoon the jam carefully into hot sterilized jars. Seal, cool, and store for future use. Plum butter 3 lbs fresh purple plums 3 cups honey 3 ounces lemon juice 3 ounces orange…

What do you consider to be finger foods? Include things you personally might eat with your fingers that others may not. :lol The reason I thought of this is because I took the kids out for pizza yesterday and the place we went cut their pizza into huge slices. That finger food quickly became a knife and fork food.

http://www.pickyourown.org/ That site gives you a listing of pick your own orchards and farms in your state, categorized by county. A friend told me the other day that they had made some strawberry jam and I started kicking myself because I had planned on getting some strawberries and making some jam. I thought picking season was in June but it is actually in May here. Anyhoo, I called a local farm anyway and the guy said they still had some but that this was the last week for them. I took all 4 kids and we picked 2 gallons in about 40 minutes. :thumb I now have 16 pints of strawberry jam sitting in my pantry. :hungry:

They had a farmers market in my area to day and I purchased some "apriums" (cross between a plum and apricot), and they were very juicy! They had other hybrid fruits such as pluots but hadn't tried it. Has anyone ever tried these fruits and what other hybrid fruits have you tried? Love, Madeline

Hi Everybody, :lol Here we have a thread to tell about outdoor cooking (i.e. BBQ-ing). I'm going to lump all outdoor chef operations in this one category. My unit is a four-tier device that can be used as a smoker, BBQ-er, roaster, grill and steamer. It is char-coal fired. The two bottom tiers are for the charcoal fire and the pan of water with wood chunks in. The top two tiers are for the food. This thing with its multi-tiers will actually cook a whole meal all at the same time. :cooldude:

When I was a kid, the only person in our household who would eat them was my mom. She loved them, and everyone else hated them including me! But in the past 3 years or so I've developed a love for guess what - TOMATOES! And just lately I've found a new delight - roasted tomatoes!! I roast them and then make some toast and spread mayo and roasted tomatoes on it - heavenly! So, anyone else here a fellow tomato lover??

This is the one I've had for several years now. I love it because it cuts in such a way that there are smooth edges and the lid lifts off instead of falling down in the can. :ideas: http://www.kitchencollection.com/Temp_P ... u=00322582 What kind do you use?
