So, sometimes, when we think we have a particular aspect of life well in hand, the Loes allows someone to remind us that it may not necessarily be so. There is, in our church, two young couples, one, the husband was saved about 4 months back, (wife was saved), the other, just a couple weeks ago and baptized last Sunday. I pick these kids up for service as they don't have a vehicle yet. They have a neighbor, a fellow my wife and I have known for many years, and dealt with many times-he is a Jehovah's (false) Witness, he and his family. Well, he is a piece of work-dishonest, will lie when he can't use his doctrine to get out of being wrong in debate, is a cheat in business…

You won't find me dancing around some pole to ward off evil spirits or whatever it is attributed to this day. Instead, I'll take it as an opportunity to share scriptures with 'may or May' in them. Ephesian 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Anyone else have a 'may' verse?

Has anyone else read this? I'm about half done and it is an excellent read! Highly recommended. For those unfamiliar it is about a priest in Canada in early to mid 19th century and about his experiences as a priest and his study of the bible and early Catholic history and books by early Catholic popes.

Today, I received in the mail, a quilt that I had not seen since 1983. It was given to me that winter by a person who remains anonymous to this day. And the wierdest part of it all, is the fact that I never saw this person, nor did the person leave any footprints in the snow that had fallen overnight. The quilt was mailed to me after I had left it with friends on whose property I was when I received it. Let me relate the story as best I remember. But first, I must make this disclaimer... I do not worship angels, nor do I revere the quilt as being a relic to be seen as something to be idolized. But the origin of the quilt remains a mystery to this day, thirty-two y…

I think I will just steer clear of this idiot and go with Jesus. Jesus has proven He can be trusted to deliver what He promises. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/head-transplant-man-will-be-attached-to-new-body-in-under-an-hour-and-aim-is-immortality-doctor-says-10198982.html

This statement by Covenantor has rendered the current debate useless. "No. I do not recognise the validity of your complex grammatical analysis. I believe the Scriptures, & the straightforward grammar we actually read there." This statement implies that Pastor Markle has changed the meaning of the passage by his grammatical analysis. This is not the case - in fact the reason that he gave an in depth - not complex - explanation, is because Covenantor denied the simple reading of the passage, thereby necessitating a more complete explanation. Covenantor's statement is a bald misrepresentation which is designed to discredit Pastor Markle personally, and not within the…

We are on the last day of our annual preaching conference. There have been some great sermons preached this week. Pastor Mike Allison kicked off the conference with this message about sound doctrine. It is really good.

I am the president of a small young adult and young professional group in our church, though I am not young anymore . The group is called Ambassadors for Christ Fellowship. As the president, I have to come up of ideas for an activity for the Ambassadors after the worship service. We have a fellowship once a month. For this month, our theme is: A Good Financial Steward. Can anyone suggest a good activity related to this theme? It could be a game, a seminar, or any that you can suggest of. By the way, the church created this group so that our young adults can be useful to the ministry and to at least keep them from worldly activities. I hope you can help me. Thank you brot…

The same tactic used by homosexuals in the early 1970s. (1) Go after the psychiatric and psychological institutions. (1a) Change the definition, make it palatable. Legislation for protected class will follow within 30 years. Instead of putting them behind bars you'll be required by law to bake them a cake.

A new book was just released on amazon, barnes & noble, and hatchette, titled "Miracles From Heaven" by Christy Beam. Christy gives an account of an unverifiable accident that happened to her then 9 year old daughter, Annabel, who is now 12 years of age. The alleged accident happened on December 30th, (or was it 29th? two different dates given in two different interviews. ) Annabel and her older sister had been playing outside and climbed a cottonwood tree. Long story short, the then 9 year old Annabel, fell into a cottonwood tree through a hole in the tree which she was looking into... 30 feet above the ground. She fell headfirst. Allegedly, she blacked out in t…

This is not the entire border or for that matter the prominent entry points for illegals but, you can get the idea. I still have the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, National Guard, and Law Enforcement Training facilities to place in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. I might not be able to catch and hold illegals but, I sure could discourage them from coming on in.

I'm a senior citizen! I'm only 61 and will be 62 later this year. How could I be a senior? Should we have a separate forum where you have to show proof of age to get in? [just kidding] The restaurants would tell me I've been a senior for 6 years already. I know, I ask about discounts at restaurants and they explain if I'm 55 years or older, I'm a senior. If the restaurants are willing to reduce their profit for me to eat then I must be a SENIOR!. What now? I still remember where my truck keys are but, probably because I always leave them in the same place. I'm a Christian Senior, I read and study my Bible, I pray often throughout the day, I'm active in my local church, I …

I don't have time to get them all but here is what started this thread...I hope you don't mind Potatochip I have to answer the thread question in the affirmative. But, this needs to be torn apart and dissected. How it has worked in the past, what it has accomplished, how it is working now, and what are the obvious and not so obvious results of it's insertion into our homes.

5 Surprising Facts About Marco Rubio's FaithSen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, who launched his presidential campaign Monday (April 13), often talks about faith and wrote about his religious convictions in his 2012 book, An American Son: A Memoir. Here are five faith facts about this Catholic son of Cuban immigrants who has also found comfort in Mormonism and a Southern Baptist church: 1. He was once a serious, young Mormon. Rubio's parents baptized him Catholic and he is now a practicing Catholic, but when he was 8, his family moved from South Florida to Las Vegas, where his mother attributed the wholesomeness of the neighborhood to the influence of the Mormon church. Young Ru…

It is estimated that only 3 our of every 100 first time visitors ever return to a church. So I set out on a project to contact as many "one and done" visitors I could find and I asked them one simple question only...“What do you wish church people knew about unchurched people that might turn their first into the first of many?” The following are the top 5 recurring responses I received. They are not in any specific order: 1. I WANT TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED NOT IGNORED This one was huge to me. Did you know that official greeters (like ushers, anyone with a name tag or who will be on “stage” at some point during the service) don’t count as genuine human contact to a visito…

This one just yesterday... WARNING..the video part is graphic and has foul language http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/08/us/south-carolina-officer-is-charged-with-murder-in-black-mans-death.html?_r=0

This is a PerVersion I learned about a couple days ago. Published in September 2014. Not by a committee, but by a single woman. Has JESUS returning to Earth at His Second Coming as, not Deity, but a human. i have debated with this woman in the past on the role of Bishop. She argues that the Greek, ei tis, in 1 Timothy 3:1 (translated "If a man" in the KJV) is gender-neutral, and therefore, Bishops can be male or female. She totally dismisses the "must be a husband of one wife" in verse 2, changing it to "faithful in marriage" to justify her error in verse 1. many, many other errors thought this corrupt book. Here's the link where it can be downloaded for free, o…
