Speaking in Romans 11, Paul said of Israel - notice please, that they were branches, not the Olive tree - (a comparison to John 15 would suffice for an example) 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. 12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. 15 For if…

Immigration -- Issue of the CenturyBy Patrick J. BuchananTuesday - August 18, 2015 "Trump's immigration proposals are as dangerous as they are stunning," railed amnesty activist Frank Sharry. "Trump ... promises to rescind protections for Dreamers and deport them. He wants to redefine the constitutional definition of U.S. citizenship as codified by the 14th Amendment. He plans to impose a moratorium on legal immigration." While Sharry is a bit hysterical, he is not entirely wrong. For the six-page policy paper, to secure America's border and send back aliens here illegally, released by Trump last weekend, is the toughest, most comprehensive, stunning immigration propo…

“To those who had easily endured toils, dangers, and doubtful and difficult circumstances, ease and wealth, the objects of desire to others, became a burden and a trouble. At first the love of money, and then that of power, began to prevail, and these became, as it were, the sources of every evil. For avarice subverted honesty, integrity, and other honorable principles, and, in their stead, inculcated pride, inhumanity, contempt of religion, and general venality. Ambition prompted many to become deceitful; to keep one thing concealed in the breast, and another ready on the tongue; to estimate friendships and enmities, not by their worth, but according to interest; and to …

Missouri Commission Removes Desert Storm Memorial with ‘Jesus Fish’by William Bigelow12 Aug 2015 On Tuesday, the three-member Boone County Commission in Columbia, Missouri voted unanimously to remove a memorial honoring Operation Desert Storm from the county courthouse to a private cemetery because it featured an ichthys, AKA “Jesus fish.” Two Boone County men who died in Operation Desert Storm, Patrick Connor and Steven Farnen, were listed on the memorial, but now the county has decided to replace the memorial with another one lacking any religious symbol. In May 2014. Americans United for Separation of Church and State started a campaign against the memorial, sending a …

No, not Arminians.... Friday afternoon, I sold some sheep to four guys from Armenia. Unlike all the Arabs/Muslims I've dealt with these folks didn't try to negotiate the price other than to offer me MORE if I sold them what they wanted. They were a pleasure to deal with, paid me extra, and said they would be back for more.

This morning I was watching Fox News when Mike Huckabee came on to discuss last night's debate and something caught my ear. In response to John Kasich's capitulation on gay marriage, Huckabee revealed himself as a Biblical Creationist by asserting a 6,000 year human history in support of traditional marriage. It was an incredibly short part of a larger answer but also incredibly telling. From that one little quote we know that he firmly believes the Bible and that he holds God's Word above man's word, even when it's likely to get him skewered in the public arena. I know he was a Baptist pastor for a while (of the SBC variety), but that's a stance even many of those won't …

Heard a man comment about how holy the Temple was, that the Lord didn't want the foundation to touch the ground. He said they built arches between two mounts until it leveled with the tops of those mounts, then laid the foundation on those arches, thus making it not touch the ground. Ever hear this?

Rom. 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. I believe God can tell the time, & Scripture has a message for the immediate hearers, & also for all in similar situations, so that we can read the Scriptures & ask, "What is God saying to me, to my family, church, & associates, and to the generation I live in." There is a tendency, when we study prophecy, to pigeon-hole it into fulfilled or end-times, & also to see prophecies as happening today as we read the news. That can be to be especially dangerous as folk try to predict the nearness of the "rapture" on s…

My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased Mark 1:9–13 Mark deals very briefly with the baptism and temptation of Jesus (see Matthew 3:13 to 4:11 for a more detailed account). Following his baptism, the Lord Jesus was driven by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness, where he was tempted by Satan for forty days. Though weak in body through lack of food, he did not yield to the enticements of the devil. John baptized those who had repented of their sin (4). Why then did the Lord Jesus submit to baptism when he is sinless and has no need to repent? •Baptism speaks of identification. When a believer is baptized, he is identified with Jesus in his death and resurrection (Romans …

We sold our first 17 lambs of the season at the rate of one, two, or three at the time, and 6 of those were to Muslims. Madjid from Oman, "Mo" from Bahrain, Isaac and Saeed from Saudi Arabia came and slaughtered on the farm. These particular guys seemed friendly enough but I never look forward to dealing with Muslims as they're too persistent in "negotiating" the price and just the prospect of having young Muslims around makes me a little nervous. They had also agreed to bury the remains but they left heads and feet sticking out of the ground and when I returned Saturday afternoon, it was stinking to high heaven. But last Friday afternoon we sold 15 rams to Ignacio, fro…

Ever noticed this in Revelation 3...."church *of the* Laodiceans"? All the other churches were addressed as "the church in ___". Many people try to use this passage as evidence that salvation can be lost. Since we know salvation can't be lost, I figure these are the people following the likes of "chrislam" and the churches forming that think homosexuality is okay. Any thoughts?

When I was a kid, I remember my mother listening to cassette tapes of different preachers. She was blind and spent hours listening to these tapes, and she had shoe boxes (plural) full of them. Her favorites were Dr. Donald G. Barnhouse, and Charles Stanley. I guess the idea of listening to messages all during the week sort of grew on me, and after retiring a few years ago, I have in the last couple of years become accustomed to listening to messages all the time. I ran across the messages of Dr. Curtis Hutson lately and have been very impressed with him. I was just wondering if anyone ever listened to him, and if there was a rule about posting video or audio messages in t…

Hi all As some of you may know, I'm a recent member invited by another member of this online forum. I'm also an atheist. So far, I have been treated fairly respectably on this board which I greatly appreciate, but there have been some inklings by fellow board members as to the intent of some of my posts. In an effort to help me further understand Christian doctrine and the opinions of Christians in general, I've started this thread so that the following question can be answered: what do you think about atheists and why? (Possible suggestions for discussion: what do you think an atheist is, what do you think an atheist believes or doesn't believe, do you have any atheisti…

THE NIGHT WATCHMAN Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said, “Someone may steal from it at night.” So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job. Then Congress said, “How does the watchman do his job without instruction?” So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies. Then Congress said, “How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?” So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies and one was to write the reports. Then Congress said, “How are …

Godliness VS Worldliness, Holiness VS Ungodly or Worldly or Carnal, Obedience VS Grace (heretical form of grace which is not God's grace, but rather fleshly indulgence)..Laying up treasures in Heaven VS Loving the things of the world..... I wonder how this will go over here. Most Christians I have encountered are living according to heretical teachings of God's grace which is not God's grace at all. They excuse themselves for personal indulgences of ungodly things claiming that God's grace makes it ok. There is nothing holy or Godly about Bugs Bunny, but many Christians love Bugs Bunny and promote him as something good when he is nothing but wicked. So what do you thin…
