Darwin once said that if anything was found that could not possibly be formed by gradual change and evolving, it would destroy the theory of evolution. Of course, that's not a direct quote, but the spirit of it is there. Well, in Darwin's time, the cell was a locked box, a black box that could be discerned, but not clearly viewed, so it was considered a simple structure; the term, "Simple, singe-celled organism' came to refer to the least complicated form of life known. Of course, since then, the cell has been quite well investigated, and what has been found is not only NOT simple, it is amazingly complex and organized, with multiple activities occurring simult…

HOW TO BRING MEN TO CHRIST BY R. A. TORREY Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1893 by Fleming H. Revell Company In the office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington D. C. (2017) The Project Gutenberg EBook of How to bring men to Christ, by R. A. Torrey, May 1, 2016, from www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/ [EBook #51931] Distractions to sharing the Gospel did not have as many means in the late 1800s as we do today but, I think the book is as valid today as it was when published. Read the entire book and especially Chapter 13. CHAPTER XIII. THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT I. What is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit? 2. It is an operation of The…

In 1603 King James I came into power. In the first year his reign he made a decree concerning the Bible.‘…In the first year of James the king the same James the king made a decree concerning the Bible. We read (Еzra.6:3):‘in the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits’.The height and width indicates the ‘volume’ of the Book. Sixty to sixty cubits, prophetically are 66 God-inspired books. We read the commandment…

The enthronement of Jesus Christ will take place at the end of the 70th week of Daniel (Dan.9: 24-27). The ‘heir’ (Gal. 4: 1) will take His ‘great power’ (Rev. 11: 17) and receive ‘a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him’ (Dan.7: 14). The kingdoms of this world will ‘become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ’ (Rev.11: 15). The Father will tell the Son: ‘Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.' (Psal…

I had heard a family member, maybe my Mom, mention this a time or two but had forgotten it. I was at my sister's house today and she was showing me my Grandpa Webb's old wallet. In the wallet, along with his driver's license and such, is a small piece of paper with Ezekiel 16:6 written in pencil.. My Grandpa believed that, by reading this verse, he could stop a person from bleeding. I know the verse has nothing to do with that but, I just thought it was interesting. But I'm thinking "Pa, if it had that much "mojo" why didn't you at least memorize it?" And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I saidunto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Liv…

Dropped by a convenience store today. On my way into the store, there was a Jeep parked right outside of the door to the store...crammed full of what we call "good ol' boys" here in the South. On my way out, I turned to go to my car (the Jeep was now behind me) and heard a woman say... Woman: We...are...trying to save the planet. Good ol' boys: Huh? Curiosity got the best of me, so I turned around to see what was happening... Woman: WE ARE TRYING TO SAVE THE PLANET, AND WE CAN'T DO IT WITH YOU LITTERING! Then, she leaned over and picked something up (from the pavement) right next to the Jeep. Now, I don't know for sure who has the most f…

For awhile now, my wife and daughter haven't been wild about my doing stuff like bringing drill batteries into the house and charging them on the fireplace mantle, or hanging a ballcap or my solar-powered auto-dark welding helmet on the fire poker rack. Then there's the mount of the 8-point buck staring down at them with cold-dead eyes from above the fireplace mantle. They would also prefer that my banjo, mandolin, guitars and (sometimes) guns didn't junk up the living room either.. So, my Wife has come up with a brilliant solution: she said I need to build myself a man cave. It only took about 3 seconds for me to get over being dejected about being practically banis…

In the Book of Revelation, in the fifth chapter, the whole Church of God is represented to us in its entirety. Jesus Christ said: ‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up’ (John. 2:19). He ‘spake of the temple of his body’ (John.2:21). This Temple will be rebuilt during three thousand years, because ‘one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day’ (2Pet.3:8) So, ‘the four beasts’ (Rev.5:6) are ‘faithful’ (Rev. 17:14), or ‘church of the firstborn’ (Heb.12:23), or ‘a sheaf of the firstfruits’ (Lev.23:10) of the harvest..., Twenty-four elders are ‘called, & chosen’ (Revelation 17:14), or ‘barley harvest and of wh…

I ahve never been very good at touch typing - I normally look at the keys while I type and it ends up that I amke plenty of spelling maistakes that I only notice when I look up at the screen, and I then ahve to go back and fix them - so my speed is not great. When [people aks how fast I type I normally say "That depends - so you want it right or do you want it fast?" (That should have been "do you want it right"). The really funny thing is, when I touch type properly, I rarely make mistakes, and when I do, I notice them immediately and correct them without looking down. So, why don't I simply trust myself, instead of looking down at my keyboard? I don'…

Our sign shop's sales, this year, have skyrocketed. Last month we had almost as much in accounts receivable as we did sales for each of the last 8 YEARS........... And people are calling and ordering daily. Is that a coincidence? But lamb sales seem to be in a slump, We have sold only 41 of the 142 we produced this spring. Maybe the lamb eaters are fasting?

The end of the Fossil Fuel era is upon us so what are we going to do next-? Energy information Administration Official Energy Statistics from the US government The above report indicates that the US will be using primarily oil as our main energy source through 2030. The world's total declared reserves are 1,317,400,000,000 barrels (January 2007). World oil consumption 2005 is 80,290,000 barrels per day or 29,305,850,000 per year Dividing annual consumption into total reserves gives us 44.9 years of oil supply at the current consumption rate. That was eleven (11) years ago, we are not changing your habits and this spells doom for us all. …
