Born in California, Elsie is now 103 years old. Still sharp, a Christian, uses her computer, plays the piano. Elsie was in Hong Kong when the Japanese invaded. She escaped into China, walking most of the way and became an U.S. Army nurse in China. She is a neat lady. She served our country in WW II in India, Kunming, China, and other cities in China. Chengtu is now spelled Chengdu. She knew Lin Yutang, who I have quoted.

I enjoy taking photos of nature, whether scenery, insects, plants, animals, etc. I wanted to start a thread where anybody who wants can share a photo they took of something in nature. Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

With the delta and other coronavirus variants popping up, is your church still holding "in person" services? Are they doing cyber services as well? If so, which service do you partake in? I know many churches in our area are still going strong on the "in person" services, but also provide online services for those who have underlying conditions, or who can't make it to the service. Some see the reversion back to online services as a hinderance...I, however, see it as an opportunity to reach others who would never be reached. I would prefer in person services, but, it's not always possible.

Reading is a form of prayer, a guided meditation that briefly makes us believe we’re someone else, disrupting the delusion that we’re permanent and at the center of the universe. Suddenly (we’re saved!) other people are real again, and we’re fond of them. —George Saunders Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. —Joseph Addison https://www.listchallenges.com/bbcs-top-100-books-you-need-to-read-before-you-die NEWSLETTER

Quote by Matthew Henry on Hebrews 10:34 (contrasting with verse 1): What it was that enabled them thus to bear up under their sufferings. They knew in themselves that they had in heaven a better and a more enduring substance. Observe, [1.] The happiness of the saints in heaven is substance, something of real weight and worth. All things here are but shadows. [2.] It is a better substance than any thing they can have or lose here. [3.] It is an enduring substance, it will out-live time and run parallel with eternity; they can never spend it; their enemies can never take it from them, as they did their earthly goods. [4.] This will make a rich amends for all they …

Religious groups get $2,050 to settle each immigrant and sign waiver to NOT witness to them

The following is excerpted from a Don Boys' "Common Sense for Today" Those religious groups include the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, World Relief, Church World Services, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, Episcopal Migration Ministries, the International Rescue Committee, and the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. When these groups send out a news release making their case for more immigration, they never mention that they receive $2,050 for each person they settle. Isn’t that an obvious conflict of interest? For sure, it is not full disclosure. But it gets worse because all those religious groups must sign …

We often quote, 2 Corinthians 9:7 "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." Does the Bible speak about cheerful non-givers?

It was not until I found an joined this forum that I really realized how many Christians either promote or are drawn to what can only be called pet subjects. What I mean are subjects that certain people grab on to, to the exclusion of almost everything else. We have seen a lot of this lately; I won't go into the actual subjects since they will identify the ones holding them. But I think most here will know who and what I refer to. I have been exposed to some things of this nature in real life, but here on these forums "Hobby Horse" subjects seem to be unpleasantly common. It is extremely uncomfortable when the person that "gloms" on to certain subjects and can't get …

Why is our president pushing so hard for the citizenry of the United States to back his wishes to have everybody "vaccinated" with this Government Goo? He should know that there will be some who are going to resist this STRONG ARM tactic! A news story from Fox News.... https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/dr-saphier-warns-bidens-door-to-door-vaccine-campaign-may-be-viewed-as-confrontational/vi-AALSHYE?ocid=chromentpnews

Do you have any idea how patient I've been...and how often I've changed plans to accommodate your "word"? Folks, if you say you're going to do something, then do it. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut. Sorry...needed to vent.

"Where is our faith" - in God, or men like those who trust the doctors and pandemic pushers ? Are they saved? See Foxes Book of Martyrs, free online, about martyrs who would not bow down to usa government, or any government, who died instead of giving in to deception, and would not deny their faith in Jesus. They were not afraid of suffering or death. One or more who was, who denied their faith, suffered horribly for months before dying, and someone else, a teen girl , stepped forward and was martyred in their place, without fear, at the time they saved their own worthless life by denying Jesus. "Madeline, its surely not a stupid question…

This link was sent to me again this evening. I had read it once before last year, and it is one reason why many believe that the vaccines are indeed the Mark of the Beast. It makes more sense NOW, in view of the Federal Government considering making the vaccines mandatory, and trying to force private businesses to force their employees to be vaccinated. Also, there are reports, and some within the public health services, such as medicare and medicaid stating that they believe that anyone on these services should be forced to comply and be vaccinated to continue being allowed to use these services. I'm not to the point of saying that it's the MOTB, but, it well could be in…

A Born-Again Christian Prostitute? 9:11AM EDT 4/5/2013 Michael Brown It is one thing to say, “I was a terrible sinner before I knew the Lord, but God still loved me even in my sin and had His hand on my life.” It is another thing entirely to say, “All the years that I was living in blatant, open sin, I was actually a born-again Christian.” Really? In a poorly reasoned article about same-sex “marriage” in the ultra-liberal Huffington Post, Daphne Daly shares with real candor the horrible lifestyle she lived before she got right with the Lord. It included prostitution, adult entertainment, a lesbian relationship and even advocating for legalized brothels. She e…

2Thess 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. And in 2Thess 3:6 ¶ Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. I have read and re-read Paul's Writtings trying to figure out which traditions he taught in this Epistle. I still am trying to figure it out but apparently Paul taught some traditions and he gives a command by inspiration to stand fast and hold the traditions which he taught. This is a good a place as any for us to search …

TIM TEBOW EXPOSES HOW SHALLOW CHRISTIANITY HAS BECOME January 26, 2012 NewsWithViews.com By Coach Dave Daubenmire “America! America! God Shed His Grace on Thee; And Crown Thy Good, With Brotherhood…” - America The Beautiful Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! - KJV'>Isaiah 5:20 In case you have not noticed, sleeve-wearing Christian Tim Tebow has been causing quite a stir across the football world with his unashamed living out of the Gospel. His I-love-Jesus-more-than-anything approach to life has proved to be quite unsettling to those who are …

Dr. David Jeremiah, Pastor of the Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California stated in a sermon this past Sunday that the cancel culture's goal of ostracizing and punishing people in society is in direct conflict with the commands of Jesus Christ to love God and others. https://onenewsnow.com/church/2021/07/25/david-jeremiah-cancel-culture-is-unbiblical-a-sign-of-end-times

Hey all. I thought it would be a good Idea to continue this topic previously discussed, this will give us more room to think, and then we won't have to find pages to go back to a post for help in our lives. (hope I make sense) Hope this is okay with the person who started the topic... thanks

I heard of this a while back and yes, it is named after "lucifer". This is a real thing being used in Moderna. It's an "ionizable amino lipid" or nanoparticles which light up that are used to deliver the mRNA vaccine. Why it needs to be illuminous is beyond me. This is not theoretical or being researched for possible use down the road. It's already being used. Apparently, being it's a amino lipid, it will add mRNA genetic code to your genetic code. So it's gene recoding or at the very least gene addition. https://www.alecsatin.com/what-is-luciferase/ Now the " fact checkers" will say Moderna does not contain "Luciferase" SM-102 but according to Wikipedia it…

There were areas where I disagreed with Sagan, especially his view there is no God. Having said that his prediction in this video is, IMHO, correct. Don't let the interview put you off, watch to the end and hear and see the prediction.

What were the best years of your life and why? The best years in my life have been since I retired in 1995. Through various opportunities I have: Worked twice in Xi'an, China helping a Chinese friend prepare for the first and second international conference on project management held in China. Worked yearly, from 90 days to 10 months, from 2005 to 2013 at the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague, Czech Republic. Worked six weeks in Russia at the Moscow Baptist Seminary. This opened up easy travel over much of Europe. Wonderful years and good memories. Interestingly, once we decided to go to Prague, each year within a wee…
