I received this by e-mail this morning and thought I would share! I am proud to say I know many such men in my church! ****************************************** 1. The man who puts God's business above any other business. 2. The man who brings his children to church rather than sending them. 3. The man who is willing to be the right example to every boy he meets. 4. The man who thinks more of his Sunday school class than his Sunday sleep. 5. The man who measures his giving by what he has left, rather than by the amount he gives. 6. The man who goes to church for Christ's sake rather than for himself or for someone else. 7. The man who has a willing …

The “Burning Bush” Exodus 3: 1-5 Have you had a “burning bush” experience? A burning bush would of necessity, give off light. Does your life emit light? Jesus said “Ye are the light of the world”.. but are you allowing Him to burn through you? Do you “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mt. 5: 16). If not, you should! A “burning Bush” experience does not burn out; “And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.” (Ex. 3:2). The bush “was not consum…

C'mon, you all knowwww you wanna go! http://www.ewomen.net/ A family member posted on her FB that she is going to this. It saddens me. Her husband is a part of Operation Blessing and has been doing a tremendous work in Haiti, even before the quake. often pray for him while he travels and while his wife stays home with their 2 boys. I think her parents attend a Church of God, and I thought she and her husband attended a Baptist church. Not that that means much anymore I suppose, but I guess I always knew they were in to the contemporary scene. This event looks like a good way to please the carnal mind and get your blood pumping. People think their Spirit is growing in…

Since we’re all involved in elections here in the U.S. I thought it might be interesting to revisit Pope elections. I went to this site… . http://www.catholic-pages.com/pope/election.asp 1. The Pope dies a. death is verified and a death certificate is authorized b. the public is notified c. preparations for the funeral rites and nine days of mourning. 2. The Interregnum (a period of discontinuity or "gap" in a government, organization, or social order) a. the Camerlengo (Pope’s administrator) who is responsible for church government. b. arrange the funeral and burial of the Pope. c. directs the election of a new pope, assisted by three Cardinals, elected by t…

God, why? Oh why God?

It really doesn't matter what the "why" is about. The lost in our nation use circumstance as an excuse one way or another.Maybe as an excuse to reject God. They see the turmoil going on around and have no knowledge of what is causing it. However, we who are saved by the grace of a longsuffering and merciful God do understand God's dealing with nations. Its OBvious to Christians this nation is out of God's will. So, with sodomy, lust, and abortion (just to name a few) so rampant; who do you think God is dealing with? The homosexual? The sexual moron? The baby killer? The Christian?

Hello my Christian friends. Crispy here, a new member on the board, but committed to Christ for two years now, having been saved by the Blood of the Lamb. There's a famous quip, one which is often seen on the pages of atheists, and often dragged out when trying to preach Christ to someone familiar with the saying. It goes something like this, "If God exists, why won't he heal amputees?" Another variation of it, more derogatory, is that "God hates amputees". In either form, this simple statement produces an argument supposedly in support of the atheists' assertion that there is no God, as no merciful God would refuse the prayer to restore a man by healing him. Admitt…

A week from today I will be in Washington state visiting my parents and my grandma. I get to stay for 2 weeks, so will be there on my grandma's 101st birthday. My mom is basically my grandma's sole caretaker, so I'll be giving my mom some time away (to do things like go to church...) while I get to spend time with my grandma. I'm pretty excited!! My uncle will be up there for part of the time I'm there. He is not saved. He doesn't believe that sin is actually sin, just mistakes. I would appreciate prayer for him, as well as wisdom for myself as we talk. I was able to spend a good bit of time with him last year when I was there. He's heard the plan of salvation m…

I was wondering of those who use it what of the books/commentaries you all use if any. I had been using the trial version and it was very nice. It helped me Do topical Bible study and while listening to sermons I could quickly reference verses they quoted. I use it for my bible reading pretty much every night and i can magnify all the text which was a HUGE plus (I have a hard time reading even with my glasses ). So i bought it for my bible study and when you buy it it comes with prOBably at least 100 books/commentaries and various versions of the bible (I use KJV). I've investigated a few of them which I'm going to use, though i will check them with scripture ^^ But i w…

does rock music make you buy more? I get so fed up with these stores that have to play loud rock music, especially when I look around and notice that most of the customers are older! Don't they know that rock music is a "downer", and not an "upper"? it seems that good marketing techniques would teach them that!

Hello Brothers and Sisters, I'm really in need of some good advice. I'm looking for a "legit" work from home opportunity that is Christian based to replace my current jOB, so I can give more of my time to the Lord in winning souls and discipling saints. I have looked and looked, but everything seems to be just a big joke. I'm sorry to post such a thing on this forum, but I'm in need of some counscel in this area. For the last several years, I have asking the Lord to open just the one door that He would have me to enter and close the rest. But now there is a prOBlem, I don't even know which doors to knock on! Does anybody have insight on this issue? God Bless and h…

I have been thinking about who was Ahaseurus who married Esther, and doing a bit of a search, I find there are many suggestions. Starting with the latest, Josephus says his name was Cyrus but the Greeks called him Artaxexes and he was the son of Xerxes. Modern bibles say he was Xerxes. Some say he was Darius the son of Hystapes Some even say he was the Ahaserusus in Dan 9:1 and that Darius in the same chapter was the son of him and Esther. We can write that one off straight away as that Darius was a Mede and by the time of Esther the law of the medes and Persians had passed to the law of the Persians and Medes, Est. 1:19 Artaxerxes, not a chance as Mordecai was…

If each of us owned a business, should we have the right to hire and fire those who work for us at our pleasure without the government telling us who we can hire and or fire? What about a church, should they be able to chose who to hire and or fire? What would be a good reason for the government to put a restriction on who you can hire and or fire. I thought about this after posting atopic about Juan Williams getting fired because of the remarks he made about Muslims.

It was announced in church to day that the founder of the RU program (Steve Currington) has died! He was only 45 or so, and died of a massive heart attack. he has written a few books with good, godly principles that steer men and women in the right direction. Most of you prOBably know that RU is "Reformers Anonymous" and deals with all sorts of addictions. It seems his work is done, and it is up to us to carry the torch.

I should have taken today as a vacation day and stayed away from the office. There is a costume party as part of the office fundraising efforts for United Way. People are dressed in elaborate costumes and makeup. I am staying in my quiet little cubicle and trying to avoid interacting with these people as much as possible. The big burly weight-lifter fellow who works in the IT Department is dressed like a woman. He is wearing lipstick and a long blonde wig. It's horrifying. He is walking around talking to everyone in a falsetto voice. The Chief Actuary literally looks like a demon. He has painted his face red and is wearing fangs. Our HR Director is dres…

2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version) 14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. This verse is often quoted by those who say they want to "restore America" or "return America to the Constitution" or "see America return to her Christian roots". Many Christian political activists as well as big name preachers proclaim this as their battle cry as they tell folks to vote and get active in the political process. Is such a proper usage of this passage or are they missing what this passage is real…

Dry County 1 2

Do you live in a "dry county" where alcohol is not sold? Up until a few years ago I did. Now it is a... "moist county?" No idea what to call it other than only restaurants that seat over 100 people can server alcohol, and I think 70% (maybe 80) of their sales must be food. It was a big deal when the law passed. Working in law enforcement I hear a lot of politics and often am disturbed by it. I mostly try to stay out of it and thankfully I'm in my own little hole that I usually don't have to hear it unless someone brings it to my area. Nonetheless, I often hear officers talk about how making us a wet county would be great because of the revenue it would bring. But I have a…

In light of the clear command in Romans 13 regarding government, were those who promoted and prosecuted the American Revolution violating the Word of God? Romans 13 1Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that whic…

John Jasper was a slave preacher. His biography is written by a William E. Hatcher, and talks in the uneducated jargon of the black slaves. it is great reading from a great man. Look for it at the Sword of the Lord publishers.

My wife ordered a five season set of "Daniel Boone" from the old tv series for me. It is really good to watch some good, wholesome movies without any filth in them. She got it from Christianbook.com (Christian Book Distributors) at a very good price (on sale!). Each series has eight disks with four episodes, so it will keep me busy for a long time. Good company, and they stand behind their products.
