No Balm in Gilead? Is there no balm in Gilead? The Lord asks this question in Jeremiah 8:22: “Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?” The prOBlem was the indifference of God’s people to His will and to the law (His Word). Just two verses before this, God, speaking through Jeremiah, makes another OBservation: “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” We all have grown lax when it comes to serving our God. At times, we do well, but then we seem to “peter out” and slack off on the things of God. We are a busy people, it seems, but perhaps busy in the wron…

This is an e-mail I just received from a Hospital Chaplain. I have hesitated to write this email as I was hopeful that your materials were randomly left at our health care facilities. However, the tracts and DVDs have been more numerous as of the past couple of weeks. While I have no doubt of the sincerity of your outreach and theology, that still doesn't make it acceptable in our hospitals and clinics. Thus I ask that you inform your parishioners and/or missionaries to discontinue leaving your materials in our facilities. Yes, everyone dies. Your belief structure indicates that death is to be feared unless there is some type of conversion experience. Human beings wi…

Hey everyone, I think this is the best thing my wife had ever written. Every lady should read this, and it would do well for fathers to read it as well. Very powerful. ----- I have prayed about this topic for over a year and the burden in my heart is continually increased. Yet, I feel that it is an idea that can be misconstrued if not read in the proper context. I want to say what this article is not. It is not meant to degrade any ladies in any way. It is not meant to intrude into the liberty of a husband and wife to determine how many children that they can properly raise for the Lord. It is not meant to burden women with guilt for past sins that are und…

On April 28, 1952, in the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States in Zorach v. Clauson, 343 U.S. 306 (1952), in which school children were allowed to be excused from public schools for religious OBservances and education, Justice William O. Douglas, in writing for the Court stated: "The First Amendment, however, does not say that in every and all respects there shall be a separation of Church and State. Rather, it studiously defines the manner, the specific ways, in which there shall be no concern or union or dependency one on the other. That is the common sense of the matter. Otherwise the State and religion would be aliens to each other-- hosti…

No doubt someone will disagree with most of this, and it is not intended for the offense f anyone, but may be necessary to keep a good testimony, and wake some people up. At the local Tyson's Feed Mills early yesterday morning a 120 foot cement silo collapse, at this time one man is still missing. Can't imagine what his family and friends are going through. Several years back the local Pilgrim Pride had a silo to collapse spilling thousands of pounds of corn, thankfully in that indecent no one was injured.

(Worse than I knew, plus great correlations that are most often not seen or ignored) WATCH OUT FOR THE NEW HARRY POTTER MOVIE PART 1 By Berit KJos December 8, 2010 NewsWithViews.com "When we first started 'Harry Potter' and cast 10-year-old Daniel Radcliffe in the title role, parents drove their 10-year-olds to see the movies. Today, those same kids are now driving themselves to the midnight shows."[1] Dan Fellman, Warner Brothers "In a chilling performance by Ralph Fiennes, the [Voldemort] character plays out like a dimensional compliment to Adolf Hitler. ... his deliberate hatred of the muggle race [humans] mirrors the Nazi internment of the Jews."[2] "…

HOW GREAT IS THAT DARKNESS By Coach Dave Daubenmire December 9, 2010 NewsWithViews.com “But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness" -Matthew 6:23 Okay Lord, I’ll write it. But I really don’t understand why you give me these dirty jOBs. Why haven’t you anointed me to write about the evil Democrats, or say, those God-haters who want to take Manger Scenes off of the courthouse steps? Why can’t I be like Ann Coulter and just expose liberals? Why do I always have to write things about folks who are supposed to be on my side? The liberals hate me enough…why do I h…

A new reality series began on TLC last night (Sunday November 14) entitled "Sarah Palin's Alaska". First question: Did you watch this show? Second question: If you watched the show, what are your thoughts? It seems this programs has garnered a lot of attention by varying people and groups. Some liberals are very upset with TLC for having this program on even though it's not a directly political program; although the program does touch upon such issues a bit because of who Sarah is, but the program itself isn't focused on that. Some see this program as a great addition to Palin's foundation being laid for a presidential run in 2012. Some seem less focused upon…

I recently purchased a board game called Settlers of Catan. (a brief explanation) It is a board game where you build colonies on an island. By getting resource cards by rolling a number that is on the tile. For instance to build a road you need one wood and one clay. The goal is to get ten points by building various things, in a way it is sort of like Monopoly. Though I was thinking and the prOBlem I'm having is that if you roll a 7 you move the thief pawn onto a tile. When it is on a tile the tile cannot produce a resource. and if someone elses' settlement is on that tile you can take one card from them. Is this breaking (Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.)? I though…

If anyone lives near Mount Laurel, NJ (South Jersey), Fellowship Baptist Church puts on a living Nativity each Christmas and it's really great. It's a walk thru tour of about 13 scenes starting with the prophesy of Christ's birth and ending with His ascention. At the end there is a short video from the Pastor and then you get to have hot chocolate and cookies. It's completely free. Each year seems to get bigger and bigger. The first night they had it this year they had 1200 people go through (in a span of 3 hours!). There is a short video on their website for anyone interested www.livingnativity.org.

What has Happened to Christmas? We all know the “Christmas story”, and how the angels proclaimed the glorious birth; how the wise men traveled from afar to worship him, and gloriously looked forward to merely seeing the Christ child. We have read of the shepherds that came, and sought him out, with great joy they came to gaze upon the Savior, but what has happened to Christmas? What has happened to the joy and the elation that filled the air during those times? Where has that electric, ecstatic jubilance gone? Nowadays, even Christians are selling out on Christmas! The world has stolen our blessing! They have cunningly devised a scheme to slander the name “Chri…

I often wonder how does a Christian deal with working for a Reg. (Secular) News Paper or Website. With all the research you have to do, I would think it is hard to stay level with your own Christian morals.
