How do I protect the eyes, and heart, of my 13 year old son from the almost constant display female skin all about? Things were bad enough when I was a teen but they are so much worse now. We stopped at a gas station today and while there a car load of teen girls pulls in. They all get out of the car and they are all wearing shorts so short and tight that I don't know how they got them on or how they can even move in them. Thankfully for myself, seeing such doesn't cause me to lust and I can turn my eyes, but when I was a teen I no doubt would have lusted and my eyes would have been glued to them. We now have teen girls living across from us and they wear shorts and…

Fasten your seatbelts, everyone, I've got another touchy topic to throw at you. I have an Christian acquaintance who has recently left church and is living in the world. She moved in with an unbelieving boyfriend, and is now engaged to be married. My question is - how should I respond to this? I'm glad they're getting married rather than living together, and I'd like to be encouraging and supportive (she really doesn't need any more negativity in her life right now, especially from other believers), but since he isn't saved, I can't see where I can encourage and celebrate this engagement. I've been so torn as to how to respond that I haven't even said congratulat…

Recently I've been listening to a lot of sermons from some of the "old time" preachers, and reading some of their writings, while at the same time listening to some of what's on various Christian radio programs and trying to discern the differences. Most often, when listening to the "old time" preachers one gets a sense of the precense of the Holy Ghost and detects a boldness to preach the whole Word of God as is, with no excuses, no watering down, no skipping over. For most of the modern preachers this seems to be lacking. This seems especially lacking when it comes to those who do "focus on the family" type programs (I think they've changed their name but don't recal…

Do you ever use never?

Never, Always, and derivatives. Example: You never say nice things about my aunt. The above is just one example of many. During the course of discussions, arguments, and debates we should be aware of how (never, always, and derivatives) are used. I believe it's a form of judgement which Christians should be extremely careful using. The above might be revised as... Do you recall saying something nice about Aunt Bessy? Isn't there something about her you can like?

Because Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper by transitioning it from the Passover observance, the ideal way would seem to be to observe it annually. This would make the Lord's Supper less routine and more special, and everyone can plan on it far in advance. Other special day observances (e.g.Christmas, Thanksgiving)though not mandated in Scripture, would lose their specialness if observed more frequently. However, concerning the frequency of the Lord's Supper, the Lord did not make it wrong to observe it more frequently (as oft). We observe it the Tuesday evening before Resurrection Sunday; this would have been the same night Jesus observed it (this is assuming He was cru…

WE LIVE IN AN UPSIDE DOWN WORLD By Coach Dave Daubenmire June 16, 2011 NewsWithViews.com NOTE: We have just returned from our 2nd trip to Joplin. We will be going again next week. The need remains. You can still help put fuel in our tanks here. We live in an upside down world. The things that we know to be true are no longer honored. In this information age, when knowledge is as available as the nearest computer, the Truth has become neutered by two very simple words. Prove it. For most of my life I have tried to live by principles that were considered to be immutable, unchanging, and true. In fact, not only did I live my life by those values, but most eve…

Thank you all for your prayers! We feel much better and got something worked out with our landlord to break down the late rent and start paying weekly and we got a good commercial pest control account that takes care of half our late rent payment! Praise the Lord, And our landlord is not going to charge us our late fees! I put in several applications but all the sudden we are getting calls for our pest control! Thanks again so much for all your prayers! We are not out of the woods yet, but not to far! Sure brings us closer to the Lord!

Dear friends, My family and I are facing eviction through no fault of our own. We have rented our present home for the past 2 years and have always paid our rent on time. We recently found out that the landlord has not been paying their mortgage payments and now the house that we live in is being foreclosed upon. The trustee's sale is set for June 1st. We have been planning on relocating to Hoven, South Dakota but didn't expect to do it quite so soon (we are presently in North Platte, Nebraska). Please pray that we can find another house to rent on such a short notice. Sincerely, Bro Steve Smith

Here is a poem I wrote for Fathers Day. Use it how you wish. God bless. And Ye Fathers There once was a father, this father had a son. He also had a daughter. He wasn't the only one. But just like most fathers he forgot one important thing. He forgot to watch his walk and talk for to his children, he was a king. So instead of training up his children in the way that they should go. He let them do whatever they wanted and rarely told them no. He trained his dog and chained it up but let his children run. He told himself there only kids just let them have a little fun. Take the kids to church on Sunday that was his day to sleep in. That was of course until…

Herman Cain: Don’t mess with Israel By Ralph Z. Hallow The Washington Times Updated: 6:21 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 NEW ORLEANS — When ex-corporate chieftain Herman Cain told some 2,000 Republican officials and activists here that if he were president, the world would know that anyone who “messes with Israel messes with the United States,” the audience applauded while two tour-bus loads of youthful Ron Paul supporters booed. That triggered a counter reaction, with row after row of audience members at the Republican Leadership Conference rising to cheer and applaud Mr. Cain, who, like Rep. Paul, is running for the GOP presidential nomination. The division…

LIVINGSTON, New Jersey, June 15, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - One of America’s top conservative personalities distanced himself from his Catholic faith’s teachings on homosexuality, saying that he believes homosexuals are “born that way” and therefore it is “very difficult” to call homosexuality sinful. CNN’s Piers Morgan asked Republican New Jersey governor Chris Christie in an interview that aired Tuesday night: “Is homosexuality a sin?” “Well my religion says it’s a sin. I mean I think - but for me? I don’t - I’ve always believed that people are born with the predisposition to be homosexual, and so I think if someone is born that way, it’s very difficult to say the…

PEOPLE PREFER COMFORTABLE LIES TO UNPLEASANT TRUTHS By Frosty Wooldridge June 13, 2011 NewsWithViews.com Americans prefer comfortable lies rather than unpleasant truths. That hasn’t changed in 50 years. In 1965, Senator Teddy Kennedy said his new Immigration Reform act would not change the ethnic demographic content in America of 90 percent White, six percent Black and four percent Hispanic. Within 35 to 40 years, America will be a majority Mexican-Hispanic population. Because of Kennedy’s bill, we added 100 million people to the United States in 40 years. We will add another 300 million people because of that bill within another 60 to 70 years. That’s why I bequ…

When I went to rent a copy of True Grit (the new one) I stumbled across a movie at the video store called KJB:The Book that Changed the World. I highly recommend this movie. Very well done and beautifully filmed on location in Scotland and England. The movie deals in a large part with King James himself and what led to the translating of the KJB. I think any preconceived images you have of King James the man will be shattered by this movie. On the most part the Special Extras are pretty good. Mostly historians and thelogians talking about the KJV. I wouldn't call this a Christian movie yet it does maginify the KJB. Check it out.

Sorry but I need a few people to watch this again if they can. I have edited it a bit and added some content. It is about 9 minutes. Please watch for punctuation grammar anything that is a mistake. I do have to tweak the timing just a bit at the end for the music but other that that I think I am finished. Eternity “And I give unto them eternal life;” (John 10: 28) Where did God come from? Man cannot comprehend eternity with no beginning and no end. It makes no sense to the carnal mind that God has always existed, and was never created, but we believe it by faith. This mind-boggling truth is logically impossible, but nevertheless it is true. Why then is it so hard for us to believe that the Bible is the Word of God? Or that the earth was formed by God’s spoken Word, or any other great Truth of scripture? The Bible answers it simply in Mt 19:26 “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” It is no…

I came across this wonderful poem and posted it to my blog, but I also wanted to share it here. There is much wisdom in these verses! O Modesty, where is thy blush, we may ask, O Nakedness, where is thy shame? Fast slipping away from the people of God Till some are mere Christians in name. O Modesty, thou art a virtue quite rare, A most treasured gem of each saint. But where are the women aglow with God's love, With courage to be labeled quaint? The world treats unkindly who will not conform To rules that Fashion declares. For any who dare to step out from the crowd Will notice the whispers and stares. Yes, Fashion is cruel, she has her designs, For sh…
