If the primary election was today, who would you vote for? These are in no particular order and only listed those that declared their candidacy. List from http://2012.republican-candidates.org/ It will be interesting to keep up new polls here every few months to see where the Baptist votes are being shifted. Poll is private so nobody can see your vote.

CHURCH AND FAMILY, YOU'RE BLOWING IT August 18, 2011 NewsWithViews.com By Lee Duigon A woman told me recently that she was “elated” over the news that her grand-daughter is going to have a baby. The prospective mother, fresh out of high school, is not married to the father of the children. They are not going to get married. They might not even live together. A few doors down, another young couple is expecting a child. They aren’t married, either. In fact, the mother is still married to another man; and the father already has another out-of-wedlock child in another state. The neighbors were so elated, they threw a baby shower for the happy pair. Meanwhile, the f…

Culture of Dependence Posted on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 09:54PM Let America take a long, hard look at what is happening in London...then take a deep breath and learn a powerful lesson. When anarchists and hooligans were trying to riot in Athens, Greece, most people rolled their eyes and said, "Oh, well, it is Greece." Wrong reaction! Be that as it may, now it is happening in a city and a country that is the closest to the U.S. in terms of history, culture, and alignment. As we watch London burn, again, leftist politicians are blaming the conservative government's economic policies-adopted by their coalition government a little over a year ago. This is not unlik…

(I can't post in the devotional section, so I'm putting it here.) The Lord would have us be thoughtful about the things which fill our minds and hearts. Paul says to the Philippians, ch. 4, v. 8: 'Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.'

MY RESPONSE TO "THE RESPONSE" GOV. RICK PERRY'S CALL TO PRAYER By Marsha West August 13, 2011 NewsWithViews.com Having previously written a piece on The Response voicing my legitimate concerns over Gov. Rick Perry’s August 6th prayer event that was held at Reliant Stadium, now that all is said and done I'll respond to what I watched via the live streaming on their website. As the camera panned a sea of people with their arms outstretched to heaven, many of them with tear-stained faces singing praises to God, made my eyes well up and I was moved. There is something about that Name… Christians go to big events expecting to hear a Christian band playing praise and…

From TBC Today DOMINIONISM'S FATAL FLAW [Excerpts] Despite the involvement of the Moral Majority and Christian Coalition in America's political process over the last few decades-in 1976, a cover of Newsweek read, Born Again, and declared that year to be the year of the evangelical-the moral decline of this nation continues down that slippery slope. Because little has changed, many who have fought the good fight against national corruption are understandably discouraged. One leader has even informed his constituency that, "attempts to restore morality 'through the political process have failed'." About the religious right's failure to influence this nation's moral lif…

So, I saw that they are publishing Norman Geisler's Systematic Theology in one volume, it has all the of the content of the four-volume set, sans graphs and appendixes. I talked to a guy at church who said that while Geisler is religious about graphs they're just a little bit of help and not essential to the material. So, what I want to know is, anyone else seen anything about this or am I the only nerd who is stoked about a systematic theology coming out? Here's the link if anyone's interested. http://www.amazon.co...ef=pd_rhf_p_t_1

BREAKING NEWS: Cleveland Browns football practice was delayed nearly two hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. The Coach immediately suspended practice while police were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, experts determined that the white substance unknown to players was the GOAL LINE. Practice was resumed after it was decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.

We seem to be having a balance of weather now. All the heat a few days ago has been replaced by a combination of sun and rain. Even in the weather, we can see the faithfulness of God.

We'er back home again, had to head to the local ER early Friday morning, Linda was in major pain, got pain shot them to Texarkana hospital. Bruised nerves, main line pain med along with steroids. Came home this afternoon, all is much better. NS said, nerves being compressed so long you will have this effect once in a while. I know it was a nightmare for Linda, for it was major pain. Maybe she is on the road to recovery now.

I thought I had seen a discussion of this some time back, but I looked and could not find it. Does a church have to have a 501-c-3? I was under the impression it was not mandatory. Does any one know?

My life changed from losing a childhood friend due to Religous, standards, beliefs and values stances. She is more liberal and dark and with the world more , I am with the Lord, line things up with the Bible, living in the light and going in another direction then her. I tried to reconcile from Jan until recently with her and she keeps on thinking I am harresning and spying and stalking her. She has her Wiccan best friend and her agnostic friend defending her away from me and they keep on saying to me embrace the darkside which is is sad all they need is prayer from me and not my time and energy no more. I cleared my history up on my laptop and I am not going to look…

I made a small change. We have recently been getting a few members here that like to join and send out spam. If you were one of the lucky ones to receive a message from one of these members, I'm sorry. To combat that problem you now have to have at least 30 posts before you can use the Messenger System. Let me know if any of you have a problem with this feature. Thank you.

Hi, so what is a good 18th b-day gift? Something memorable, something sensible for the milestone year. Any suggestions? Mine would be maybe: A good study Bible or Subscription to an edifying magazine.

"Christian ministry is more than doing good. Ministry is an act of service performed either consciously or unconsciously in the name of Christ. Ministry is Jesus Christ expressing his life through us. It is born, therefore, not in activity, but in solitude, where through the spirit we experience the power of life from within. No one becomes a 'minister.' Rather, in trust we so open ourselves to teh Spirit that Jesus Christ can express his ministry thorugh us. Prayer and ministry, therefore, are indissoluable. In the stillness of meditative prayer we are confronted by God's loving claim upon us--the most intense intimacy a human being can experience. To know this i…
