Hello everyone, I grew up in small, dusty west Texas (Midland/Odessa area). My parents divorced when I was about six years old. My brother and I lived with our dad so that we wouldn’t have to change schools when my mom moved to another town. Both parents were very loving towards us and cooperated with each other for our sakes, but they had very different lifestyles. My dad was very involved in church and did the best he could raise us biblically. I was saved at an early age, but without a consistent picture across the board, I strayed from God’s path during my college years. After graduating I went into the Air Force as an intelligence officer and started traipsing ar…

I came to know the Lord Jesus as my savior on June 15th 2008. I did not grow up in church and lived as the rest of the heathen world. I was involved with street gangs, drug trafficking, and heavy alcohol consumption. I met my now wife right after I came home from college. She grew up in a good Baptist Church but had rebelled and was a backslider. We, against God's Will, moved in together and struggled for 3 years. I did nothing but drink and worried only about recording hip hop albums. We soon had two children and no direction. My wife started to attend her old church again. I was put off by church but I began to see cards coming in the mail to my now wife. People f…

My name is Mohan Krishna and I am from Chicago, IL. I was brought up as a Hindu in South Carolina, and was not really into my faith while growing up. I was exposed to Christianity in college in the 90's and became part of a false church in 1997, the international churches of Christ. After leaving the church of Christ, I studied scriptures more carefully, and understood the true Gospel of grace in 1999 and my life changed at that time and I became a believer. After becoming saved, finding a good church was a big challenge for me, as I was caught up in the false doctrine of Calvinism. In 2010 I realized after more carefully studying scripture that both Calvinism and Arminia…

G'Day and Kia Ora from New Zealand! My name is Rowan and I'm 40 years old. I'm from Wellington, the capital of NZ and the world's southernmost capital city. I am an "old and new" Christian. What I mean by that is I was raised in a Christian home and have always had a faith of some sort. So in that sense, I am an "old" Christian. But I was not truly born again until 26 September 2011. So in that sense, I am a "new" Christian. I said I was raised in a Christian home, but it was not very spiritually sound. My father was very much a nominal Christian - I think he really only professed a faith for my mother's sake. He used to pray with me at nights when I was a child, but…

This letter was written by Ms. Corrie Ten Boom, a Nazi Concentration Camp survivor, and lifelong missionary, in 1974. The world is deathly ill. It is dying. The Great Physician has already signed the death certificate. Yet there is still a great work for Christians to do. They are to be streams of living water, channels of mercy to those who are still in the world. It is possible for them to do this because they are overcomers. Christians are ambassadors for Christ. They are representatives from Heaven to this dying world. And because of our presence here, things will change. My sister, Betsy, and I were in the Nazi concentration camp at Ravensbruck because we…

I do not wish to be perceived as mean or rude. One must defend the gospel of the Kingdom of God. We, beloved, have responsibilities to our fellow Christians, children and the lost. WE are to defend the babes against the wolves that try to creep in unawares. But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. Luke 22:36 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against…

Dear brethren in Christ! I am a new member on this forum, and I hope I will have a nice time here, and what follows is a short intro of myself. I am a teenager, currently in high school, I've been saved for 2 years, I am an independent (Ana)Baptist; and I live in Macedonia. Although I myself hold to and have Anabaptist (Baptist) convictions, unfortunately, there are no Independent Baptist churches in my country (at least no that I know of), and I don't want to go to protestant churches, so I am seeking for missionaries willing to plant a Church here. You may find me on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/Stefan_P_ My blog: https://baptist.jux.com/ Meanwhile, I wou…

Hi, All! Always hated being the new guy at work, but here I am. Came across this site whilst researching various tings on the seven churches of Asia, and the speculation of the correlating church ages. Its been a long time since I was part of a Batist board like this-usually I find so much argument and ill-will that I end up just getting disgusted and leaving. Yes, I enjoy lively discussions, and the occasional argument, performed in good spirits, can keep one on one's toes, so hopefully this group here wil be different. Hopefully its not just me that's the jerk. Anyways, I pastor a small IFB church in the NE California desert, a small town of about 800. My wife and I…

My life before Christ I was brought up in a Baptist church and Sunday school. I was a juvenile delinquent and at the age twelve, I was expelled from school and spent six months in a state juvenile detention center. I was a runaway from home and in trouble with the law. How I Became a Christian At the age of nine, I made a profession of faith but I did not understand it but I went to alter because my friends went to alter. Youth camp 1982, my associate pastor was asking how I became a Christian. I told him the story. He kept questioning me how I know. I got a little upset with him. Youth camp 1983, Wednesday night chapel service on August 8th, the preacher preache…

What about Sam Nearly forty years now has my Lord been good to me. As King He has ruled justly and enhanced my life. As Saviour He gave His life for me; can I do less for Him? We owe Him our life for a surety. I live daily as do all. I was raised as most of you. I was raised in a Missionary Baptist Church – it was a good church. My parents were Christian; but, I wasn't. I want US to take a serious look at Christianity here and now: what has it become and what was it originally. We have the Bible (in modern English – I thoroughly believe the KJB is our only English Bible). The first Christians: they burst out of the upper room, evangelized and formed the first ch…

On that night in the Judean sky the mystic star dispensed its light, a blind man moved in peaceful sleep and dreamed that he had sight. A lonesome leaper seldom seen had a vision he was clean. When he awoke in morning’s light, he had friends well in sight. On that night in the manger stall, slept child and mother cheek by jaw; a harlot dreamed she was safe and secure because a chosen one had made her pure. Against the black bosomed night diamonds spangled the sky while angels announced the birth of a King. As the light flickered against the walls, the shadow of the cross carved from the beams in the stable loomed over him and he remained under that shadow all his life.…

Hi everyone and thank you for welcoming me to your Forum. My name is Luke and I'm 44 years old. I'm a former member of Cooks Chapel Independent Baptist Church in Pipestem, WV. I was there when Johnny Atkinson was Pastor. No finer man has ever lived and he was a hell, fire and brimstone preacher. I haven't really attended services in a while, cause there really are no good Independent Baptist Churches here where I live now. Ok, more. I believe in the gospel and I believe in soul winning. I believe we are in the end times and I believe time is very short. I'm webmaster of http://www.666themark.com trying to warn the world about the dangers of taking the mark of th…

Hello, all. I stumbled across this website today in search of an answer to a question that I desparately need answered. I have been part of an IFBC for a couple of years now, but grew up in the Brethren and moved on to different Baptist churches. I agree with the stand of the IFBC and have always struggled because so many churches have turned from the KJV. Our family belongs here. I need prayer for a very delicate matter. I don't know how to deal with it, and it may require our leaving the church - and I don't want to. I would appreciate your prayers and the Lord's wisdom -- and soon! I have never encountered a situation like this. God bless you all.

Within the last 30 mins or so it seems I have lost the permissions to post in any forums except in the top forums (for new people). I cannot reply to anything in any of the lower forums either. Any help would be appreciated (from an admin to turn the permissions back on).

if you are in a bible course...can your lessons there be your guideline for bible study and then do a separate plan for bible reading? Or how do you separate your time for bible study and reading and what are your habits?

Hi! I'm back. I've taken the break to study some things which I encountered here... I' also found a church that I agree with doctrinally.. So, I'll be happy to hear the different sides of the people here... By the way... Well before, my status whether i am an IFB was .."thinking about it" ... now it's a ""YES!""..... Celina
