Jehovah witness invited me to their Easter Service
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in False Religions
If they're "a heretical Christian church," they're a false religion. They preach another Jesus than the Apostles preached and that is presented in Scripture. The Bible says that they should be accursed. -
I believe there are different beliefs concerning several groups on the rapture, the millennial kingdom, baptism, tongues, etc, but it's usually due to faulty hermeneutical and exegetical practices. Salvations implementation is pretty clear. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

Yes, I have heard them. I love them.

Praise the Lord for answered prayer. So happy to hear the good report. Thank you for the update.

Update: While at pulmonary rehab yesterday, I received a text from my attorneys paralegal. She stated that the contractors brother, who also the business partner named in the suit, has inquired on what it would take to end the suit and keep them from having to go to court on September 6. He was told it would take the amount appropriated from us and the court filing fees. This would all have to be done by August 30th. Once again the brother has made the promise to have it covered by then. We are praying that will transpire. I still have been instructed to notify the Tennessee State Attorney Generals office and the Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs, as well as the state licensing board, and Angi's List as well as NetWorx and Home Depot, all of whom recommended and vouched for these people. Fraud seems to be running rampant in that company as was recently revealed by newly published reviews on the company. I am a reviewer for Google, and the review for this company will carefully show why they should not be trusted. It's sad when people naming the name of Christ are thieves. I'm still praying for them to repent and live like the Christians they claim to be. On my breathing, Thursdays evaluation wasn't good. I was short of breath all throughout the session and I had to use my inhaler at least three times in less than 45 minutes to sustain my ability to breathe. Please continue to pray.

Praying for all involved... salvation for those who need to come to the Lord and for this precious baby. Prayers for you and yours and peace with what the Lord is trying to accomplish in everyone's lives.

Now there’s a movement to bar women as worship leaders in churches
BrotherTony replied to Pastor Matt's topic in Music
In our case we approached the pastor about the rock and roll atmosphere. The worship leader who was there 7 years ago was instructed to tone it down and he did for a time. He brought back the doctrinally unsound, rocky CCM a few months later and was called onto the carpet again. He left shortly thereafter and went to a church in Florida. The replacement was the assistant pastor's brother, and he was somewhat better. But, being related to the assistant pastor gave him leeway to start the drift back towards the worldly, undoctrinally sound music that had been there before. During Covid, he gave the pastor an ultimatum that if everyone in the congregation wasn't forced to take the jab, or to wear a mask during services he and his wife and child would leave. He left six weeks later. His brother, our assistant pastor left to take a bigger church in Shelbyville just over a year ago. And the assistant pastor's father in law, who was our assigned deacon, resigned immediately after that and went back to the church he and his wife had been attending before he came to our church. With the moving of his wife into the position of worship leader, this pastor has near total control over what goes on. Very true. I've noticed that a majority of our seniors in our church no longer participate in the music portion of the service. They just stand there listening and looking dazed and confused ?. -
Now there’s a movement to bar women as worship leaders in churches
BrotherTony replied to Pastor Matt's topic in Music
My wife and I have spoken out on the issues in this church several times. Since we have made it strong stand some of the older deacons have said something as well. But, the slide towards the world has been continuous and now is far enough along to warrant my wife and I shaking off the dust of our feet on them. One or two people can't just, as YOU say, "vote them out." The younger generations who are coming in are taking the church in a direction that will lead to it's demise sooner or later. It's sad to see a church that has been in existence since the early 1800's going downhill, but, it's happening to a lot of churches that once stood firm for the gospel. -
Will Christians Still Vote For Trump… ??
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in Current Events / News
So, using this man's reasoning Joe Biden is a "minister" of God... sorry, but it sounds like someone is adding his own interpretation and feelings to them Bible. I could only watch the first few minutes of this video before I wanted to ",get sick." Maybe, after I finish wanting to be indisposed, I'll go back and watch the rest of it. -
Now there’s a movement to bar women as worship leaders in churches
BrotherTony replied to Pastor Matt's topic in Music
In our church the pastors wife has taken over the position of "worship leader." I didn't know we needed to be LEAD in worship. Some of the music she's put in place for us to sing during the music portion of the service has questionable doctrine and it seems more like she's there to give us a solo, or to sing OVER the congregation. She nearly swallows the microphone ? while bellowing out in rock fashion most of the songs. For a pastors wife in this position her dress is less than appropriate IMHO. Don't get me wrong, we like her and she's a very friendly, caring person. But I thought we as Christians were called out to be separated from the world, not to try and fit in with it. These things have caused my wife and I to be looking for another church. -
Will Christians Still Vote For Trump… ??
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in Current Events / News
Even though Trump may have stated that Pence could overturn the election results, it's a proven fact that he knew better. It may have been a suggestion made out of frustration, but, certainly no worse than Obama saying that the people could override the Constitution and give him a third term. So, the hypocrisy of the Democrats is showing again. Are you an operative for the Democrats, friend? -

Nothing wrong with a protest march. The Democrats do it all the time, and terrorize Supreme Court Justices. They do it to conservative Senators eating out. -

So what? This little cherry,-picked clip proves nothing. Politicians do this kind of thing all the time. Someone HERE is sounding more like an operative for the Democrats. -

Yes, he's campaigning all over the country. -
I have a couple of prayer requests that I would like to bring forth. I don't usually make prayer requests on public forums, but, there are times I feel that I should. My wife and I had our attorney file a lawsuit against a contractor who took a deposit for materials back in January, and who has never performed the work he was contracted to do. The man claims to be a Christian, as does his brother, who has been in contact with our attorney over the past several months over this issue. We have a September 6th court date in Civil Court in Coffee County, Tennessee. We have tried our best to be Christian about this situation, but, we believe that there are times when it's necessary to take someone to court, especially when they are using the name "Christian" and are acting as a business to con people out of their money. We still would like for this man to step up and pay what he stole back to us. The suit would be dropped in a heartbeat. But, we don't foresee that happening. It's very disconcerting to us to have to use the measures. Then there is the fact that my breathing isn't good. There have been no conclusions reached in my testing, good or bad, but they do know that I'm not getting enough oxygen when I lie down to sleep at night. I've been getting on an average of 3 hours a night sleep. It definitely makes functioning every day a challenge. I am in pulmonary rehab, and it's something I plan to finish, but, it really isn't addressing the real issue of being in need of oxygen. My oxygen saturation is showing as good, in the high 90s, but, it's clear to everyone that I'm not getting the oxygen I need to function. Most of my tests on my heart came back good except for a blockage in one of the arteries leading to the heart. No surgery is required at this time. After Brother Jim's homegoing, I'm very thankful for this. Surgery frightens the bajeepers out of me. Thank you in advance for your prayers. BT

Tonight I'm thinking about making baked BBQ pork loin chops, frying some yellow squash, and possibly having some mixed vegetables with it. I might actually make some biscuits as well. I've been wanting some for the past few days. I make mine from scratch, as I don't like to use the ones in the roll. They just don't have the same kind of flavor, and often have far too much sodium. Chocolate ice cream for dessert.

Will Christians Still Vote For Trump… ??

These are unproven allegations made by Democrats and their operatives. Sounds like someone has swallowed the Kool Aid. At any rate, Trump would be better than what we have now by far. -
Men stopped being leaders...Women took over
BrotherTony replied to heartstrings's topic in Biblical Issues
City or country has nothing to do with it. I know many, many Godly families in the largest cities in this country, and I know of many who are lecherous, ungodly people in the country. Blanket statements don't help find solutions, and the best solution is for a man to take his role as the leader, and the wife to be in Godly submission to her husband, and on down the line to the children. I was raised with a father who wouldn't lead, and a mother who, at times, was overbearing. She FORCED the Bible, God, and church on us, a spiritually abusive church, and now has one atheist son, one who is in a church that preaches the Gospel but is very much off on other things, and me, two daughters who are still living, one who is serving the Lord and one who is getting divorced for the second time and in politics. Often when the wife steps up the family suffers. -

Many Christians still won't vote for Trump whether he's in jail or not. -
Tonight I put on a Kielbasa with celery, onion, carrots and bell peppers. It was good and will last another night.?

Will the Jews be left behind when the rapture comes
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in End Times/Bible Prophecy
No. The 144,000 are from the Nation of Israel. -
What would make you think he is? Doesn't he in fact have the presidency for the remainder of his lifetime, in effect making him a dictator?

For Vivian and me, right now the soup of choice is Progresso Lasagna soup. I didn't think I would like it at first, but it is great!
