Just curious...for your family, what is your weekly budget for groceries and non-edible (cleaners, diapers, whatever)? Of course you can remain anonymous....

Really? Counting all laundry soap and everything? That's pretty good Bakers....

I have a hard time keeping mine under $200...but then, for instance this week, we had to buy a $60 prescription for my hivey kid and so that cut our budget to $140 for the week.

Yep; really. It is only possible though because of my part-time job....couponing and hunting deals.

Course, I don't have diapers anymore...

And I don't have to buy stuff for school lunches...

We don't have any regular prescriptions either.... I know those can really cut into a budget! :icon_sad:

Coupon Example: a couple of weeks ago, a store had Electrasol dish tabs on sale for $3.00/box. They are normally $6.00/box. I had 12 coupons for $2.50 off each. I spent $.50/box x 12 boxes = $6.00.

I spent on 12 boxes what a non-couponer would spend on 1 box (or 2, if they use the sale). The non-couponer will have to go to the store and buy another $6.00 box in a couple of weeks. I, however, only have to go to my basement for the next several weeks. :coolsmiley:

I do what I can with coupons but I don't spend hours on it...I just use the store ads each week combined with coupons and make the menu partially based on what is the cheapest on sale for the week at the stores I go to. I get busy with cakes and stuff so I guess I pad the budget with cake money sometimes, instead of spending longer doing coupons and mapping out my shopping.

I do love mixing coupons and sales when I can!!! Fun stuff.
