I don't think that's what happened with Aleksey, Angie. I didn't know anything about Korea and through a chance meeting, God opened up a whole new world to me and gave me a passion for Korea. It may be the same case for him.

I didn't say that's what happen. but saying that sometimes the society do have influence in our taste, and sometimes it doesn't. depending on the person.
Just keeping you aware how the society affect us.

btw, I do have the passion for american indians. I am very interested in their culture . But I think it is because of my family heritage.

Another thing I've thought why people are fascinated with Asian culture (alot more people than you think so this isn't about you or Anime4Christ at all... just people I personally know who would take up buddism, yoga, etc.) is that in Japan, China, Korea, etc. taught alot about patience and time. Something that people thrive for and forgotten in America. While people look into Asian, other people look into old days when everything was slow and people took their time such as quaker, or Native Americans, etc. The bible teach us about patience. Today, we have a commerical, busy life.

That is true, funny thing is I like a lot of (but not all) things that "average" people do, but I have different reasons for it. Eg. I like to play guitar, but I took up guitar because it's one of the easier instruments to learn and my dad already owned one, rather than because of it's popularity.

I am too kind of. I've had many obsessions with different cultures including Native American, Jewish, Asian, but the Asian one has kinda stuck. Maybe cuz they're my size...JK :lol I'm 5'6"
